Yes! How did you sneak past the guards?!
I'm sneaky, remember.
I charmed them.would you rather me call you Skinner?
No, I think I'm more Mulder than Skinner.
oh now you try to convince me...
That sounds more like you! And The X Files is much scarier than Hitch. The show has scared me quite a few times.
Hey now! I'm not that bad, silly! Okay so i squeal when it gets really gross and scary....Joe just rolls his eyes and asks me why I watch it. He hasn't quite grasped the fact that I watch it mostly for it for their relationship yet. Heehee! That and I love the adventures they go on and when they save each other.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! You're gonna make this "Pride and Prejudice"!
No silly! They could never be Elizabeth or Darcy. Honestly!
Gary was actually very good. He's the perfect kind of actor to portray a man like Alvin York.
Gary naturally projects honesty and a quiet decency.
okay something is wrong here. Why are you saying nice things about Gary?
I don't ask for it! I'm the sweet one!
And I suppose the missing strawberry shortcake is the evidence?
-
Hello fellow dolly sister!
hi butterscotchie....so you like this movie, too? i knew that you would. it's so gorgeous, i didn't even pick the best shots.
Is this a trick question by any means? I mean really! To even ask me such a question!

I know, I'm looking forward to more shots. I simply love the cinematography of the movie as well as the chemistry between the people involved.
Hey Larry!!!
Hi there Miss Butterscotch!
How goes you daghling?
-
i love those screencaps dahlink! very nicely done! my favorite part of the movie is in a couple of those caps!
I love that line!

-
That's hilarious! And it's true, too!
i do try dahling... of course its true. we wouldn't have a need for long black gloves, rope to strangle you with, hat pins and feather boas if you wouldn't ask for it!
-
Hiya, Invisible Woman -- Who let you in?!
was i supposed to be locked out? i'm gonna bring out my puppy dog pout!
Ha!
would you rather me call you Skinner?
I can't believe a scaredy cat like you is watching The X Files ! What's this world coming to?!
scaredy cat?! scaredy cat?! would i have all Hitchcock movies if i was a scaredy cat? ...okay okay, when i watched the episode of the X-Files where those bugs from another country inhabit your body and create sores all over the place and end up killing people in the process, i was curled up in my bed clutching my pillow and honestly, i didn't want to leave my bed for hours.
i just like the romance with scully and mulder!!

Who is that?!
gee, i'll give you a guess.
Gary was actually very good. He's the perfect kind of actor to portray a man like Alvin York.
why do you say that?...but i do happen to agree with you.
-
Always with the violence! You're made for westerns.
hey, don't pick on Ro. she's just defending herself against your wickedness.
-
I didn't know you'd seen Black Narcissus, too, Ro! That would be an interesting discussion if we get around to it one day. I agree, that is one super dark movie in many aspects. I keep seeing Deborah Kerr and Kathleen Byron's eyes boring into one another!
i just watched that for the first time too at grandmama's house yesterday. how weird! i hadn't seen it before then, or i thought i hadn't. grandmama said i had seen, but i don't remember at all, so i just went ahead and watched it with her, while eating mint chocolate chip ice cream. yummy!!
you know, i was surprised at how dark of a movie it was for Deborah Kerr.
-
hey there agent mulder!
by the way watched that one episode "Our Town" and they tried to almost chop MY Scully's head off! of course you would like that episode! Of course Mulder came to the rescue as her knight in shining armor, so i was initially a happy trouper at the end.

*1. A Canterbury Tale*
*2. Shock Corridor*
*3. You Can't Take It with You*
*4. Moontide*
*5. Five Star Final*
*6. Bend of the River*
*7. Last Train from Gun Hill*
*8. Back from Eternity*
*9. Possessed*
*10. Sergeant York*
you are so predictable frankie angel! Heehee! But actually I didn't realize that You can't Take It With You was so high on your list! But it wasn't a surprise how low Sergeant York was on your list. I mean how could I expect to see such an extraordinary movie higher on your list if you think he wears too much make-up....sheesh!
-
Cinie-T!
Your list has such a range of deadly women! I love how you have Kathleen Turner and Sharon Stone right in the middle of Tierney and Stanwyk. A rather spot on list big T!

I so hate that Angela Lansbury is on such a "fatale" list, but at the same time, I understand that her character in Manchurian Candidate is so wickedly capable of brainwashing. just thinking about it gives me goosebumps.
-
Ha ha! Thanks, Little Butter tea!
You know what is super cute about this statement? I don't think i'll ever out-grow yall calling me "little tea". heehee! I don't mind it one bit, but I find it really sweet.
There are times when I feel just like Annie Laurie and I want to scream "I'll kill em, I'll KILL EM!" Well, not quite that bad, but I do sometimes feel that the top of my head is going to explode if someone says one more stupid thing to me.
Heehee! I think we can all atest to that notion! I simply lov the passion brought out by Annie Laurie, though. It shows how human her character is.
-
Wendy, I love your list of killes ladies! Goodness me, I really had to catch my breath after reading this awesome reading adventure!
This one made me laugh and I love that you added her!

I don't know why I love her.... I guess because she's neurotic, like me. She wants to be loved, but has high standards and a low threshold for stupid people."

Yes, I miss chatting as well. With all that has NOT been happening in my life recently (still unemployed), I find it hard to concentrate on writing long messages about movies. In other words I can write all day long about movie lists, but when I try to dig deeper into more thoughtful analyzes, I begin to crumble. That is why usually during the week I have not as much to say. And most of that is because during the week is when I spend a greater portion of my online time researching companies and applying for new positions.
I'm sorry to hear about you being unemployed. Maybe we can cheer you up a little!
Might I say, good luck?As far as Yankee Doodle Dandy is concerned, that is one of my favorite films as referenced below from a Favorites List I published a few months back. All I have to do now is go back and place my list of favorites in numerical order which I will do soon.
I don't know why I don't remember that one being on your list and I remember seeing your list, too. Heehee! Oh well. I guess that's what comes from being ditsy sometimes. I can't wait to see your list in numerical order.
The following is a list of my favorites from 1942, not in numerical order. Of course a possibility exists that at least three of the choices below will be replaced. But YDD probably is safe.
Is that ALL of your favorites from 1942? That's actually my favorite year in the making of films, so I loved seeing that list of yours!! But I simply couldn't limit my list to so few as you have. There are just too many special ones made that year. I have seen all those on your 1942 list and I love that you listed The Great Man's Lady(...and Random Harvest, but of course that's a given. Heehee). I don't hear that one mentioned too much as one of the better ones in that year. I love it! I loved the pairing of Joel McCrea and Barbara Stanwyk! It's definitely one of Stanwyk's softer movies that I enjoy.
-
Hey fxreyman!!
I miss chatting with ya! I love you list as well as everyone's favorite movie lists! I didn't realize you liked Yankee Doodle Dandy! I didn't expect that to even be on your list for some reason. Shame on me! Heehee! What do you like most about cagney's performance?
I did notice ms. Barbara stanwyk on your list a bit. Very nice!

oopsey, repeated post. Sorry!

Bonjour mon bon ami!
But I'm a sweetheart and you don't hesitate to strangle me!
I do no such thing! i'm sweet and innocent! Much like Loretta Young in Four Men and a Prayer! What did you think of that one? I never thought you would watch that movie!
That's the only face he has!
NU-UH!!

Would you like a sandwich?
It would be poisoned with arsenic!
Here are the classic films I have watched this year (in order of most recent on down):
Holy fudge muffins! You keep a log of every one you have seen and the date you watched it?! .....you know I should do that starting now. It might be interesting which ones I look back on.
I'm interested in hearing your review for The Prince and the Showgirl, Not as a Stranger, and The Locket...oh and of course Four Men and a Prayer. I also see that you saw a few more Gary movies. Sure you don't like him. Yeah, Uh-huh.....and why do I not see any new Greer movies on there?! Such like a man! Heehee!

-
I just caught that about Jane Powell...I had just skimmed your writings before I actually posted that. Sorry, girlie. I did read everything now, so I'm up to par. Woohoo!
By the way, I answered your pm.

I'm really thinking about saving up for next year's festival. I wanna go have some fun so badly over there. I wonder what films they have in mind so far. I'm waiting on the edge of my seat.
-
Well its about time I found this thread.....SERIOUSLY SueSue, I am floored by your experiences. I can't believe you got to meet the loverly Janey Powell and Margaret O' Brien! They were some of my favorites growing up. Anyhow, I just love reading about all your travels, so please keep it up, girlie. You are AMAZING!
Gee, its too bad somebody couldn't come visit me when they were down here...I won't mention any names, but I thought I would throw that out there. Heehee!

*Good evening to you, Sweet T!*
Bonjour Francois!
*You probably shot him! Or kissed him to death.*
uh-huh....and what would my motive be for killing such a sweetheart? Being too cute? There's no such thing!
I should report you to the duke! He would come after you with a really scary face.
*Meanie Mint!*
Norman Bates!

*You're probably right!*
Don't you go agreeing with me, you'll throw off my whole groove Here. Heehee!
So what new movies have you watched?

Top of the afternoon to ya, Frank-a-Zoid!
Just one wedding would ruin me!
I know!!
That's the part that makes me giggle. That sounds like an android to me! Or Lassie.
Greer isn't an android! She isn't a dog either! Where do you come up with this stuff? I mean, honestly! heehee!
You're supposed to be the sweet one!
Well, yes, Melody Jones would agree with that.

Your picture proves me right! Look at the loving hug Mitch is giving Peck. That's really sappy!
What?! He's got this stalker-ish (Is that a word? Heehee) face and he's trying to strangle poor "Sam Bowden"...he didn't deserve that!
Nooooooooooooooooo! You're the T-minator!
oh happy days....a new nickname. Like I don't already have enough from you, Frankenstein!

.....oh and Bronxie, I wouldn't count on him appreciating Mr. Valentino. He doesn't have enough taste for The Sheik. Heehee!

Just like me! I always have a legitimate reason. Honest!
yeah uh-huh! i wanna see you plan 3 weddings at once and take 2 condensed summer courses....you'd have a heart attack and die with all the girlie stuff taking place and then we'd have noone to steal the devil's food cake at our tea parties!! Heehee!
It's hard to be a chivalrous with skillet clanged to your head, knives stuck in your back, and long black gloves around your neck!
minor details...but its not like you don't deserve it. After all, you did insult Greer. I think that qualifies! Heehee!
Greer's an android? I knew it!
Okay that really made me giggle!
NO, silly! Greer is sweet and a human being thank you very much!
You've already strangled me!
Yeah but you seem to be still alive for some reason. Maybe I need Dana Wynter over here to help me!
Who are you again?
You know who I am! oh wait, wait...I can use this....
I am your worst nightmare!! MUWAHAHAHAHA!!! heehee..
That's how I feel about Mitchum. I think most of his moments in film are sappy. I especially like when he gives egg massages. It doesn't get much sappier than that!
What?! Mitchum? He's not sappy! He's mean!

Never!
I haven't given up yet.

*You need to strangle yourself for not posting on the board! For shame! Lots of people miss you around here. I don't, but at least they do. But the board could use some of your silliness.*
Well that is my fault a bit...but I have a legitimate reason! Honest! So are you disappointing all the ladies around here with your lack of chivalry?

I got one of those Evo Android phones now. It's so pretty, I have a background pic of Greer and everything! So now I can chat on Here portably. I'm so excited!
*I like the psycho more than my darling Gloria! What does that say?!*
Whoa, I never thought I would here you say those words...I'm soooooo telling Greer on you. So she can tell Gloria (you know they are close.
), so Gloria can strangle you for that. Heehee! *Somebody must have hit you on your head! You're the lass who wishes to see Greer and Gary getting married in every film! How can you say Psycho and Cape Fear have sappy moments?!*
First of all.....if I had gotten hit on the head, I would have ended up Luke Smith and wouldn't be able to remember you. And we wouldn't want that. Shame on you.
Secondly, Cape Fear has Gregory Peck. Anything with him has to have a sappy moment or two.

So what say you to that?! Ha! I've got you!

*Who in the world is this? You must be new here. Welcome to the board.*
Well I like that!!! I leave for class and yoy start picking on me! The long black gloves are coming out! Heehee!
*You must have me confused with someone else with the romance talk. I'm nothing but blood and guts!*
What do you call liking In a Lonely Place? And for your info..there are some sappy moments in Psycho and Cape Fear.....in a psychopathic kind of way. Heehee! But still.....
