HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANGELA LANSBURY!!!!!
butterscotchgreer replied to butterscotchgreer's topic in Your Favorites
yes i hope people keep coming here. i started another angela lansbury thread called, angela lansbury:the queen of broadway, a quite a while back and enjoyed being on that one. i guess i got a little carried away last night while celebrating angela's birthday. i first watched, Beauty and the Beast, then i watched her private screenings...again. heehee!....then i watched bedknobs and broomsticks, then i finished the day with the cartoon of Anastasia. i simply love her as the grandmother of Anastasia and i remember when i first saw this one when it came out. i wasnt too old and one of my friends gave me a snow globe with Anastasia in it. it played that song she sings while daydreaming in the palace. i love that song. i still have it. it looks as if my schedule changed quite a bit from my original plans of what to watch of her movies. heehee! oh well...i do hope she gets an honourary oscar one of these days cascabel, she deserves it excessively so! i think i will record the Greates Story Ever Told coming on tonight, just b/c angela is in it. i have actually seen this one before but didnt especially like it too much. -
i just love looking at that picture angie, sis!! but his dimples arent even close to being in full action....

frankie!!!! heehee! stop picking on sweet april! april, you know he loves you...heehee! i actually didnt see Out of the Past with my grandmama, although goodness knows she has seen it, and just about every other old movie there is. she never ceases to amaze me....i recorded it the last time it was on TCM, b/c some people suggested it for me. they thought i might like it, and i do, but i still have to say that the ending was a smidge dissappointing frankie. heehee! im not saying that it doesnt have a happy ending, but it just wasnt what i thought it would be. oh thank you, i just made a new skirt actually.....how did you know? i know....its telescopy! heehee! i love repeating that from one of the thin man movies.

ANGIE!!!!! what do you mean you saw a sailor???!!!!! without me!!! im so jealous!! i didnt get to see the handsome tall gorgeously handsome sailor....now im pouting. heehee! april, i thought the same thing you did about Out of the Past. i have watched it more than once, but i always end up shutting it off before it reaches the very end. i was kinda disappointed with it, but i liked the rest of it.

cascabel, i love frankie's version of "in the wee small hours of the morning". oddly enough i first heard that in Sleepless in Seattle and loved it from then on. when i got into frankie, i heard it on one of his records and loved his version much better. dan, april and cascabel are right, you will love his album, *Only the lonely*. the songs sung on that are just up your alley. hey john!!!!! i love funny girl and this movie would be considered to be on my top fav movie list of all time. i cant wait to see it when it comes on. although i have it on dvd already, i wanna watch it when it comes on TCM. heehee! i always cry to it at the end, and sing along to the beautiful songs in it by jule styne. babs, i must say looks real pretty in this movie, but i know a lot of people would agree with me on that subject. heehee! i think barbara streisand has her own beauty, just like every person in the world has their own beauty. although im not sure about the beauty inside of her. im not a fan of her as a person, b/c i strongly diagree with some of the actions she has taken and things she said about the people i like, nevertheless, i love her voice and acting skills. her talents especially show in Funny Girl, and she deserved the oscar for this movie. that must have been a real pleasure to share the oscar with katharine hepburn. wow! anyway, i highly recomend this movie to all old movie buffs and it is a real treat to watch over and over. the quality of the movie is amazing too. it looks so incredible on the big screen. i went to go see this last summer at the Paramount Theater in Austin and wow was i in awe!! heehee!

FRANKIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh i love frankie. i always listen to my frankie cds almost every night when i dont listen to my old radio shows with gary. heehee! i love when frankie puts me to sleep with his love songs. i have most of his movies, but i dont have a couple that to me dont sound like i would like them. i love the cutsie ones like a Hole in the Head, Anchors Aweigh, On the Town, It Happened in Brooklyn, the Kissing Bandit, and Take Me Out to the Ball Game. i also have quite a few of his dramatic ones like Young at heart, the Manchurian Candidate, oceans eleven, the Devil at Four O'Clock, and From Here to Eternity, and lots others. i think frankie was his own person and was such a talented one at that. he was, in my opinion, one of the greatest singers in history....and he had a cute way of acting. i think i am more inclined to watch his cutsie movies more often than his dramatic ones, but they are still worth watching every once in a while.

yeah i dont pay much attention to todays society although my friends do so i know lots about them. i dont like angelina jolie and katie holmes and tom cruise, the only exception i make for him is Top Gun, and brad pitt and nicole richie and all those people who decided to get pregnant before getting married. maybe im a little old fashion but i think witing till marriage is just fine! the fact that the movie centered around if ronnie reagan was her father or not and then them getting married was a real shock to me, but it was still a good movie. wow, your randfather must be an old fashion type guy too. heehee! i bet you and your husband look real cute together.

well at least we all agree on that.

no sheis that way too, heehee! that is what's so amazing about it, she fits all those cups of coffee in the morning and doesnt drink any more after 5 o'clock, unless she is trying to stay awake to look like that, which she has done before. heehee! that was a gorgeous pic by they way april, i would love to look like that, just for staying awake too late with lots of caffeine in my system. you must look gorgeous when you go to bed.
