  1. that is a very interesting review on Beau Geste. *In contrast to Markov, we have Beau. Beau at many times becomes an idealized version of who* *we would all like to be. He is handsome, charismatic, and loyal to the bone. However, he mayor* *may not be the man who stole the jewel, and this adds complexity to what could have becomea* *boring goody-two-shoes. Rather, we have to wonder about Beau, and at the same time we really* *like Beau. The thoughtful viewer may from time to time wonder how he or she can so like a man* *who is superficially a great guy but at the same time perhaps a man who stole the only piece of* *security his family had. It is this duality that Markov and Beau bring that makes this film and* *interesting character study.* that is a very great way to put it actually. although i was never partial to markov and always liked beau better, heehee! but that is just me right. i love this story!
  2. april! those pics are gorgeous! he never fails to impress me. heehee!

  6. that is too cute angie!! i love that one, im gonna have to look Big Boy up. i wonder if itunes has it. heehee! i still havent taken a look at Rhapsody yet. im gonna do that right now and see what i get. heehee! i had another dream about gary the other night, except walter pidgeon was in it too. heehee! it was so cute though. walter played my dad(which i thought was really weird!!!!), and gary was my boyfriend. he looked like he did in the Virginian....and he even sang me that song he sang in it too in my dream!!!!! it was so hard to wake up fully. heehee! i just wanted to dream all day. he never did get to propose to me in the dream though. BANANA OIL!! heehee! i was listening to my frankie sinatra cd and i found another song that reminded me too much of gary, called " youre getting to be a habit with me" heehee! isnt that so true!
  7. hey april!! you know i have a book called, Flesh and Fantasy and in it i first read that d day was considered to play mrs. robinson. my jaw literally fell off my face. heehee! i dont think i could ever picture d day as mrs. robinson, esp costarring with dustin hoffman. heehee!

  13. WOW!!! I TELL YOU WOW!!! thank you forevergarland, for making me melt completely to the ground!!!!! talk about gorgeous!!!
  14. that is exactly what i thought about Davenport, b/c i really didnt like her performance in The Westerner, and just didnt like her at all, and the same thing with grace kelly. i mean she was pretty and all, but she just expression when acting with gary. wasnt she having an affair with him during the filming? at least she could look it..you know, she could smile or something. im not trying to bring her down or anything, it is just in this movie, i never pay any attention to her at all and focus entirely on gary's performance.....and eyes. heehee! i really would have loved to see greer garson as jane mathews in the Westerner. that would have been so awesome!
  15. yes i love that episode too, were she hides the cheese in their intruments. heehee! oooooh i laughed so hard to that one too! another funny one i love is the ballet episode. she gets all tangled trying to put her foot up to the bar. heehee! i roll on the floor to that one, and then she dresses up like a clown to get onto ricky's show and that "martha" routine makes me crumble with laughter...really!!
  16. *Cody claimed that Cooper and Sarita Monteil had a fling, which goes against some of the* *comments from GC biographers, who wrote that he was turned off by Monteil's bathing habits.* *But I'd believe Cody first, since so many comments attributed to Cooper by biolgraphers don't* *jibe at all with the man that I though I uncovered.* i believe cody too apparently, b/c i have read many of gary's bios and i did read one where the author talked heavily about them having a relationship and even thought other biographers say against this or dont even mention this, it is pretty hard not to believe considering.....
  17. wow i finally got on here, everytime i try to reply to you guys, i get that page that syas i have to refresh! okay i love the pics angie! and i love that ball of fire video! smashing!!
  18. wow you got it already? that was fast. they dont kid around when they say first class do they? heehee! im glad you got it. i hope you enjoy it, and you were right, it might just become one of your favs of greer and walter's movies together. its real good!! yeah i seem to remember you saying something about you liking clinton. we all hav our favorites. heehee, i dont really have a favorite president, but i looooove lady laura bush. she is my fav first lady and i love reading anythin i can on what she is up to. as you already know, i am a republican, heehee! but that doesnt really matter right now. i dont like judging people by their political beliefs.
  19. i didnt know they said that about greta too. well it makes sense, i can just see that, but she was a good actress in Ninotchka. i noticed that you liked that movie....i do too!!! but that is the extent of me liking her movies, i have seen a lot of her other real famous ones, and they are okay, but they arent my favs. yeah i knew ingrid said that about gary, especially during For Whom the Bell Tolls, and it makes you wonder why she was so anxious, other than the fact that she had this huge attraction to him, to make more movies with him. that is a very intersting way to put that, "interior", but so true april. gary defintley had all the emotions to show in his face, and you can really see it too, in all his movies. i think it was the same way for greta too. they didnt use their body nearly as much as they expressed themsleves with that emotive characteristic, both of them posessed.
  20. thats so funny april, i read that too a long time ago, and didnt remember ever reading it until you just said that. heehee! o remember finding that so funny, b/c i always thought that men were expected to wear undershirts always, and when i read that, i was like, woah!! heehee!
  21. well coincidentally i watched High Noon last night while everybody was asleep. heehee! i didnt know about bill clinton's favorite movie being High Noon, that is very interesting, me not being a fan of him to begin with, but anywho its interesting. i already talked to angie about this, but i listened to the icon show with robert osborne talking about gary's acting finally. i love robert osborne, but i must say i got sort of angry when he said all those things about how gary didnt look ike he was acting greatly while robert was watching him behind the camera. i had read from many places that some people said gary didnt seem like he was acting greatly while the camera was rolling, but then when they saw it when it was released it was amazing. i just wanted to turn the sound off when robert kept on talking about it, but isnt it funny how that is though? it really doesnt matter how you seem to look, when filming, but when you see the finish of it, you are amazed how it looks. me and angie were wondering how the directors didnt fear they couldnt get through a movie if that is really how it went down. i dont believe that is how gary was while filming, but if the director thought that, why did so many of them enjoy working with gary?
  22. *Now pardon me why I go have a good cry with Butterscotch. I hope she doesn't mind me using* *her skirt as a big hanky.* *My heart just went "pitter patter."* frankie, ill lend you my hanky with gardenias embroidered on it. heehee! heehee!
  23. in chicago? down here in texas, the temperature is rising. heehee!
  24. i wouldnt exactly call it that, but if thats what makes your little heart go pitter patter....heehee my momma used to say that.
