  3. *Okay, that made me laugh out loud at work! Some girls might be into the slap hitter kind . I totally embarrassed Theresa one day talking about how dirty so many baseball terms sound; especially stuff like high, hard one and back door slider.*

    hey Michaela!!

wow! that is a cute french song. i think i have actually heard that before. i have an old family friend, Joslyne, who is from France and she has watch me grow and when i was a really little girl she would sing me these french songs, b/c i loved hearing her sing them so much! if im not mistaken this was one of them! it feels so good to hear it again! she is such a sweetheart and every time i see her, i still love hearing her sing those beautiful songs...thank you for sharing it with me!

now it will be in my head the rest of the day. heehee!

    hey jackie!

*My daughter is fine thanks, Greer! For some reason, I am the one who lost all the sleep! She seems bright eyed and bushy tailed....*

oh sorry! heehee! well you know i meant you. ;)

*Did you ever sing, "Napoleon Avait Cinq Cent Soldats"? It's like B_I_N_G_O. You sing it through once, then start dropping syllables at the end of each verse. So the second time through it goes:*

*Napoleon avait cing cent sol_ _ _,*

*Napoleon avait cinq cent sol_ _ _,*

*Napoleon avait cinq cent sol_ _ _,*

    *Marchant du meme pas.*

*I especially like when there is only Napo____ left......*

i dont remember this one... but its cute! she may very well have told me this one though. thanks! do you know any others jackie?

  5. *Boy, what a line! Did she dump the coffee on his head after that lie?*

of course not! what a silly thing to think. heehee! goodness!

*Love that Angela though that you posted!*

thats why i posted it! she looks so pretty in it! im glad you like it! ;)

  6. laffite you sly pirate!! that picture looks so familiar! i feel likei should know what movie that is from! oh thats gonna bother me for the rest of the day!

    okay my turn:

    15)

im sorry youre tired darling, but mother really wants to at least try to be civil with you."

  7. *Great pictures, dahlink! I'm trying to remember if I've seen this one...somehow I don't think*

*so because I would surely recall Angela. I hope TCM or Encore will air it soon, it sounds*

    *good!*

i need a better version of the movie too. TCM needs to air it. grandmama is getting mad at TCM again b/c she says they never air the rare ones that she needs to rerecord. she still wants to take over for robert osborne for one whole year and make the list of movies for that one year and then she'll let robert take over again. heehee!

  8. *I loved the technicolor- Greer's hair was so gorgeously colored. I liked seeing Rhys Williams- he is a favorite of mine. I pretty much like any movie he is in. Ian Wolfe was not playing a butler, so that was really something different! The whole thing was very sweet, and shows what a couple of pros like Pidgeon and Garson could do with fairly standard material.*

*I have unfortunately been falling asleep during every movie I wanted to see lately. My daughter coughed and coughed all night long so all I got were bits and pieces of movies. Stars in my Crown started out great, but then about the time that Alan Hale was helping Juano Hernandez rebuild his farm, Kay Francis and William Powell came around the corner, being chased by Warren Hymer. They were spending a romantic night, before going back to San Francisco to fight with Robert Taylor in the Civil War! I really have got to see a movie all the way through one of these days.*

    hey jackie!!

i have always wanted greer's flaming red hair! i unfortunately only have red highlights in my hair and actually colored it to try and look like greer's hair, but it wasnt bright enough. heehee! i love Ian Wolfe too, but it is weird to not see him as a butler. heehee! you get to see his versatility!

i hope your daughter gets well again! im so sorry she has been coughing all nights. i do hope you get enough sleep.

  9. *Bonjour, Butterscotchgreer*

*This is a good picture of these two. The facial expressions suggest, to me anyway, that they are not in character. This could have been a between-take still, yes? Or is this screencap of the actual movie? No matter, a good pic of Liz and Darce.*

    my own swasheroo!!!

sorry i havent posted inP&P yet. its a long message. heehee im still working on it. actually the picture is a screencap from the original movie. one of the rare scenes where they are smiling before they kiss. heehee! it is from the scene when they are dining with Lady Cahterine Debourgh, Anne, colonel Fitzwilliam, and the Collins'. right when Darcy offers his arm to bring her to the dining room,, they smile for a brief moment and then Lady Catherine tells them they are to go with someone else other than each other. i love that picture so much! one of my fellow greer buddies says this is how he picture them in their married life after the movie ends. heehee!

  10. *I also love it when they sing "Fr?re Jacques"!*

*When I was a little girl I listened to a lot of French children's songs, like "Alouette" and "Sur le Pont D'Avignon". So it kinda brings back old memories!*

those are cute parts! i love how greer doesnt know what the words are, so donna "patsy" has to teach her. are there any other french songs you used to sing when you were little?

  11. *Scandal at Scourie is kind of a guilty pleasure for me, obviously I adore Greer and Pidgeon working together, and le tr?s jolie jeune fille is so adorable, and the Technicolor in the movie is so nicely done! Naturally I had to record it, of course!*

yay! Michaela! heehee! i agree wholeheartedly, i was so dissappointed when i found out this movie didnt do so well in box office, its such a cute movie that i always enjoy watching. it always lifts my spirits, especially when i see greer and walter laughing out loud in the garden and kissing of course. that little girl is soooo cute! i think her name was Donna Corcoran, and i knew her from somewhere before i knew this movie. she is! she was also in Dangerous When Wet, Million Dollar Mermaid, Dont Bother to Knock, and Angels in the Outfield. she was just all around the place. heehee! obviously walter knew her well, b/c she was in two of his movies. i thought her chemistry with greer was impecible and i love watching them together, always will!

i love when she says repeatedly, "youre an unpimpled liar!" thats too cute! heehee!

  12. *No snobbery there that I can see!*

ya see there?!! dahlink, i can always count on you to see these things. heehee!

*Wasn't Angela in it, too? I thought I saw her playing the mean wife, or was that Deborah? I*

*didn't have time to look closely. It is a depressing film (both versions are, in fact).*

yes angela is in it too, and thats actually one of the main head reasons i wanted to see the movie, but they made her so mean! she played this cruel wife and i wanted her to be deborah's part! although i would never put down poor deborah kerr, i just wanted angela to get with walter this time. banana oil! but she was reallllllllly pretty in it. heehee!

*How many cups? I'm on my second but I think I need to switch to coffee, I need caffeine!*

im only on my 3rd cuppa today dahlink. im working on my 4th. heehee! you can have all the caffeine you want dahlink, i dont need any. my tummy will hurt if i drink any of that. ;)

  13. april answer this for me, so FRANKIE can see it....do thye look snobbish to you? NO! thnak you. heehee!

    _4Costco_019_8x10.jpg

*Scotchie, did you see that Greer and Walter were on this morning in Scandal at Scourie and*

*that they are showing several of Walter's films? If Winter Comes is on now and I wish I'd*

*recorded it because I like it. I believe Paul Muni did an earlier version.*

yes i saw that it was on this morning, unfortunately, i was getting ready for school. i wish i could have watched it. i just love them in this movie. they are in technicolor and truely in love....again. heehee! this is one of the ones i particularly favor, b/c it really shows their relationship throughout the movie along with adopting a little girl outside their religion, and then it is tested from the people in their town getting on their case...tsk, tsk, thats horrible. i thought it was sweet, they adopted her! to see the lok on greer's face when she did.....aawwwww!!!

i knew paul muni did an earlier version of If Winter Comes, but i havent seen it in a while. i think, if im not wrong, gramdmama has a copy of it in her library, but i have to ask. but i dont exactly remember if that was it or not. now i have to do it, or else it will bother me. heehee! i didnt particularly like If winter Comes though, they make Walter out to be this bad person when he really isnt in the movie, falsely accusing him of things. i just didnt like it, it made me too sad, but i still respect the movie, b/c it was put together with great hands and there is great acting by walter, janet leigh, and deborah kerr. i thought they made a cute couple, but i think he was paired better with greer....my opinion of course. heehee! i just think they were one of the cutest couples around! ;)

  14. frankie-i-never-lie-furter!!! ;)

*I really like that one photo of Smithy getting ready to strangle Paula with the*

    *necklace. That's my favorite scene!*

you looked at the picture and saw hat in their eyes!! you need glasses frankie, not trying to be mean or anything. heehee! seriously, though, look into their eyes, they are so in love they dont even know it themselves! "charles" gave her that nacklace for a reason, he loved her, he just wasnt surely why he loved her so muhc. he knew he loved her that much for a reason... this is why he sough out that reason by going back to the asylum to trace his steps. so there! dont ruin my philosophy, i worked hard on it. heehee!

    *Your nosey is growing.*

yeah? well your pants have too many holes from catching on fire!

*Say what? You can't find a trashier film than Pride and Prejudice. It's filthy.*

"silence in this case, would have been more agreeable." ~Elizabeth herself. heehee!

no, they are clean, its your pants that are filthy. heehee!

*First off, stop talking to the pretend doll. It's bad for you. Secondly, films like*

*Pride and Prejudice teach young girls to be snippy snobs. That's not cute.*

dahlink, april is not a pretend doll! she is real! and she will summon the ephalents to trample you if you think otherwse...ill get the caramel! thats right, you better be scared!! heehee!

second of all, P&P is not a trashy film fit to teach girls snobbery! that happens to be false accusation. it is about not judging your future husband before you kiss him. heehee! not really. its much more than that, but in this case, especially in that picture, Elizabeth is being snobbish, b/c she has too! she is telling him the way it is and the snobbish way he was being toward her and her sisters, even thought he did so inadvertently, so there! THEYRE IN LOVE FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!! they must at least practice communicational skills. heehee! i love watching that scene and repeating every line she says to him.......he needed a good talking too....like a frankie i know around here... ;)

  15. *Hey Theresa, Thanks for the birthday message. My daughter bought me a chocolate birthday cake, and we had dinner at Applebee`s. My son gave me a new dvd vcr combo player. Today my daughter gift to me arrived from Amazon. You know that the first movie that I will be watching from the Tyronne Power dvd set is Cafe Metropole, followed by Love Is News and Second Honeymoon. We never can watch too many Loretta movies.*

your quite welcome Maureen!! i have another friend who's name is Maureen and her birthday is coming up in November.

how was your dinner at applebee's? did you get Dessert? what a question! heehee! are you having fun with your new DVD player? my momma stil has fun with her DVD player, goodness knows she's recorded more stuff! heehee!

whatever could give a person such an idea as too much Loretta movies.....no such thing of course! heehee! i still havent seen Second Honeymoon....i will look forward to eventually getting that box set. you will loooooove Cafe Metropole, though...it is such a cute movie! tell me what you think, okay. ;)

im glad you had a wonderful birthday!!!

  16. *Well, that probably didn't make grandmama feel very good, did it? Maybe she said to him, "Okay, we'll go her movies and you can look at her, but not too much. Now and then you have to turn your head and look at me."*

actually she didnt mind very much, because next to Junie Allyson, Loretta Young was also one of her all time favorites back then....still is. heehee! she thought it was rather romantic, but i think she did tell him not to drool too much....i think the whole situation is just too cute! i love my grandparents! heehee! ;)

  17. april, its too funny! im speech class we were talking about Communication as usual and the subject of communication between males and females came up and my teacher had a slide show going and he put this picture up there of a couple kissing to show us how every argument should end (in his opinion) and i just said, "aaawwww! thats so cute!" and i didnt mean to say it out loud and he looked at me with bug eyes and said, "there you go class, its cute!" we all started laughing, it was too cute!
