  1. oh kathy! i love olivia in The Heiress! what a movie this is, and she well deserved her oscar for it, in my opinion. i wouldnt say it is her best film, but it comes pretty close. she also did a great job as scarlett o'hara's sister in GWTW, but that wasnt the biggest part for her; nevertheless, she carried it off magnificently. Princess O' Rourke (original Roman Holiday) was also wonderfully acted on her part. this one comes close to one of my favorites of her films, but then again you cant ever go wrong with her and swashbuckler errol flynn. granted those roles were more fun in the comic relief/savvy romantic type movie, but they are still very worth watching over and over again as is The Heiress.
  2. frankie! i cant believe YOU, the perfect gentleman, would stoop to being so mean and injustifying. honestly! this is cruel punishment for me andapril being completely sweet to you and this is how you repay us. you are so wishy washy it isnt even funny. you cant call her a champagne floozy and then post that pic! you cant make us smile! NEVER! okay so im cracking up here, but that doesnt matter.

It's no wonder you like* *Doniphon. You both hide in the shadows.* we arent in the shadows! if you look up, youll see something shiny. *I don't collect OBSTINATE lasses with the horrible taste in movies. Yuck!* honestly! its so nice to feel the love around here. im so put upon by you frankie! you should be ashamed of yourself. i know angela would be shamed of you! *Yes, what HAVE you done with her?* *Alas, it wasn't me, it was "Smithy." You know how hard I tried to convince her of his* *psychotic ways. But, like usual, she refused to listen to me. And now look what has* *happened. She's gone. Or, maybe she decided to put an ocean between her and the* *board. She really needs to stop watching Greer Garson flicks. Such trash!* i didnt put an ocean between me and anything already! i mean my goodness! mary didnt put the ocean between her and paul on purpose!! will you ever understand this? april i dont think he will ever understand such simple ways of love. *THERESA!!! 6. *No, you spelled that right. That, t-h-a-t. Absolutely correct. I can see you are good speller.* heehee! very funny laffite darlin'. i undestand "that" is a hard word to spell, so i get credit for that at least. right? heehee! *Maybe they're just bein' nice. Why, everybody knows that those purses are silly as all getout. Just kidding. There's a 50s shop near me with all kinds of Marilyn, James Dean, and of course Lucy, stuff. You can get anything, mousepads, t-shirts, whatever. Now all you need is a Greer Garson purse, do they have such things? I liked your greergarsonrose site.* no they arent! they arent just being nice to me, they were telling the truth! at least i hope they were. goodness they were all lying to me? whatever will i do now!? you are absolutely right! i need a greer purse! hhmmm.i wonder if that store has some. probably not, but i can dream cant i? heehee! that would be my prized purse right there! of course i could never stop loving my i-love-lucy-purse. *Highly funny? heehee? Are you laughing at pirates 'cause they got fooled? Boy, I hope for your sake that you don't get caught by any pirates 'cause they don't like getting laughed at. If I catch you though I'll probably let you go. I could do some a-plunderin' but what would a pirate do with a i love lucy purse? But I would let you go because if you told me you were an orphan I wouldn't believe you anyway. I would probably tell you that you watch too many movies.* im aloud to laugh at my pirates, b/c they know i love 'em anyway.......and because they are so gullible. i dont think a pirate would appreciate my i-love-lucy-purse as much as i do. heehee! its too cutesie for the imagination of a pirate. you wouldnt believe me? but i never lie! honest! i never could watch too many movies! its physically impossible for me to watch too many movies....hypothetically speaking anyway. heehee! and dont say im dillusional, mr. frenchy! *Oh yeah! Last time I tried to cut hair with a hook I took his eye out and now he's wearing a patch. (Now you know how pirates get patches) No, that scissorhands idear is a good'n.* you took a man's eye out?! laffite, laffite, laffite! i tremble for that poor innocent man! well i know you wont take my eye out.....or will you? *Dirty Pirate? Me? Hey, I took a bath in February so I'm clean as a whistle (for a pirate anyway). Actually we just jump overboard for awhile. We don't worry about sharks because we smell so bad they don't come near us.* yucky! yucky! well those sharks are smart ones. too bad for me, in not as intelligent, seeing as though im still hangin' around you. heehee! *Well, if Mr Granger was a-buildin' fences and being a pirate at the same time, I may have to report him to the WWPA (Wide World Pirates Association) and have his pirate status reviewed by the Board. * mr. granger would have none of it! he is too smart for them folks. they will know that day as the day they almost captured captain stewart granger. heehee! *Hey, BTW, do I detect that you may have a little crush on stewart, hmmm)* ummmmmmm........ you wont tell gary or mr. darcy will you? J'espere que tu t' y amuses bien.* well if you ever do see the film i think you will like it. the music as well as the dancing....thank youfor the french lesson for the day. i love learning new words from you!.....my special french talking swashbuckler!
  7. *Oh Theresa--I missed the Mount Rushmore scene- I came in here to shut this blasted computer down---just before they got to that part--and I got distracted by a post on here---and well....you know what happens...good thing I have this movie on tape--I love to watch how it all plays out--and they speak so pleasantly to one another as they are trying to do each other in...(James Mason--so smooth--"This matter is best disposed of at a great height....over water.") Oh well--will watch it again another time* i hate it when that happens. just the other day i was watching a greer movie and i went to retrieve something for my little brother and missed one of my favorite parts. right when they kissed too! banana oil! heehee! it IS a good thing we have these movies recorded otherwise we would be in trouble. heehee! *So...a singing designer/chef...I am seeing big money for you someday...Say hey to Rachel Ray for me--Hannah loves her probably the best--after Alton Brown maybe.* alton brown freaks me out with his face so close to the camera all the time. it looks as if he is forcing himself at you. heehee! and his hair is so unkempt. goodness! that man is crazy, at least he is smart and knows a lot abvout food. he makes me laugh a lot too. *And PS--Amos is cute and loveable--and a big pain in the neck too. Guess you gotta take the bad with the good.* tell me about it. my grandma's doggy, rocky is the sweetest beagle you ever saw, but he is the biggest pain too and is really silly all the time. heehee! i guess its too bad we love him. *Well--have to hit the hay--I am running out of steam. It's not as late here in the midwest as it prints up on the message board...but it is plenty late for an old fogey like me...talk to you again sometime I hope!* sweet dreams kathy! i hope you dream of boxers kissing irish women in graveyards tonight. heehee!
  8. *When I saw the green border, I thought you had created it, Miss Green.* i wish i had thought of it first, green goes perfectly with them together. SIGHS! *I think that's the look of a psycho killer who is eyeing his next victim.* youre kidding right? oh my goodness! anything i say doesnt make a difference with you.you could turn the sweetest most lovable story into the most frantic psychotic story there ever was. why do you choose my characters to try this new style with? honestly frankie darlin'! *Well, if I'm to sit out in the cold all night, it might as well be for you and your puppy dog eyes. But you're not allowed to watch any Gary Cooper movies for a month. Deal? Great!* who said anything about that being a deal? who makes a deal without the other person's permission? youre just a handful tonight. what do you do while im away, take lessons? heehee! *I was saying, you must have picked up these bad tips from a snipstress.* she isnt the snippy one around here, you are henry drummon/kenny boy! *Ohhh, you don't remember.* thats not fairi call a five minute penaltyon frankie for unfair justice! heehee! i just dont think you wanna explain it yourself. *Are you boozing again? More bad tips from the finishing school girl.* hey you were the one who said we were the floozy sisters. and im not boozing! i never ecxessivly drink booze! im too young. i sip once in a while from my parents. i have their permission....didnt you see father goose? im french for crying out loud. heehee! *Your pretend doll pleases herself by being a Manhattan blizzard at all times. "Chilly powers." I like that!* well thats her strength. she has the gift and dont mock me on this. im havingfun here! heehee! *So do you wear your long black gloves all the time now?* only when around you dahlinkg....and sometimes laffite, but only when he's thrashing my purses. heehee! *You're a monster! Nobody wants happy endings where everyone lives happily ever after forever and ever. You are the only one.* see, im just never special am i? heehee! *It's "REAL"?* ofcourse! dont you ever see the 9 muses running around making people's dreams come true and glowing when they are getting ready to leave? i dunno, it sounds beautiful to me! sonny malone would believe me! *I love Olivia! And I can't help about being snooty. That's what happens to people after they watch Greer Garson movies. Nobody is as snooty as you.* after watching my inspirational greer garson movies, one feels elegant and strong, not snooty. whatever made you think greer was snooty?! *Ashamedly, I like both videos*. ha! i caught you! you actually like them. heehee! here's another ELO song. they sing it in the movie when sonny is searching for olivia. i think you would like it. ELO did most of the songs in that movie. i love it! http://youtube.com/watch?v=RgZKuP0BKg0 one of the cutest parts of the movie is when they turn to cartoon and the song is just too romantic . it really is cute!
  9. *Hey Theresa! I was just on my way to go watch Cary Grant out run an airplane and dangle off the edge of Mt Rushmore---but wanted to stop and catch up with you.* heehee! i cant do that right now. my little cousin and my little brother are on the Wii FIT right now. *I thought I remembered you were into design of some sort but could not remember if it was interior or clothes---and I remember the culinary thing too--We are BIG on the Food Network around here--maybe will see you on the Next Food Network Star someday. Maybe you could pitch a show sort of like Sandra Lee's--only instead of decorating you could introduce a clothing line to go along with the cooking. Anything's possible.* i actually got to meet rachel ray recently and she commented on my earrings and now i joke about me being her buddy. heehee! yeah i just love hanging out with rachel. i just love all of her cooking shows. i also got to meet emeril and i love watching bobby flay cook on Iron Chef America. i would love to challenge bobby to a match on that show just for the fun of it, i know he would win, b/c he is so good and he always wins, but it would be so fun! my grandmama jokes all the time about what ui will end up being once i graduate college. she says i wil be the first singing cheff dress designer ever. heehee! hat would be so cool. she even has it all planned out. i will become a chef, and work some and become a singer, and once i am famous i will have my own clothes line. heehee! she's so cute sometimes! *We are not very exciting people I am afraid...but have managed to keep busy in the past year. I've been working a lot on some extra projects lately, (youth scouting/ministry stuff) and that has kept me running around a little more than usual. We also got a puppy this past spring--a little black cocker spaniel named Amos--too cute.* well to me you are very exciting friend! the puppy sounds so cute, is he lovable and soft?
  10. *Speaking of "twivia," (I like that) it's too bad some of the other denizens of the "Ramblin" crowd don't try their hand at that. ( hint, hint, hint ) I'm sure MissG, or MissButterScotchGreer, or FG, or JackFavell, or CineMaven would do quite well at providing funny captions to movie scenes.* yeah well that sounds fun to me! wow! i think weshould all try that some time! talk about a funny gathering! thank you my swashbuckling pirate ami!
  11. *Did you create the Random Harvest pictorial? I like it!* i like it too! but i didnt make it. i loved that it was green too! heehee! and look at beautiful little smithy's face when he sees paula for the first time since he regained his memory back. i mean how could you make a face like that unless you were in love....really in love? you can see it in greer's face too, how excited she is! oh i feel like crying just explaining this! *A pair of mittens is supposed to make me feel good about getting locked outside? Are you picking up these tips from an icy blonde?* of course they are are, thats why i made them for you silly ducky! if such people are going to be unappreciative about my homemade gifts, then i shall give them the puppy dog pout....beware! heehee! how would i ever pick up bad tips from a swet april who just happens to be my sister? you were saying.....? *Do you remember what happens at the wedding, Sweet and Sappy?* yes i do henry drummond for your information. heehee! but i want you to explain it first. if you do, it might spike up a sense of great taste in your pathetically evolved mind. heehee! *But I love Angela when she is fiesty, mad, and evil. Hmmmm, that sounds a lot like...* oh my goodness! i was just sipping my grandma's wine and you made me choke on it. i dont like innuendos and you just hurt my feelings. you also hurt angela's feelings so apologize to yer! *Your pretend doll has a "special occasion" Manhattan blizzard? Are you telling me she can get even more icy than she is now? Brrrrrrrrrrrrr!* oh yes! didnt you know? ashe can throw a manhattan blizzard at a certain person whenever she pleases herself to....on command! so you better watch it frankie or esle my long black gloves come off and her chilly powers come out! hi-yah! *You're always looking for new ways to bump me off. And all I do is tell you how sweet you are. Such gratitude.* i am not! you always start it! i tell you how sweet you are too, until you come upsetting my smithy and mary rafferty and poor mr darcy! like you said...."such gratitude!" *Do you only watch movies to look at cute and handsome guys? Sigh.* well that would be a major reason, but i also watch them for the sappiness....you know romance and drama, and KISSING and WEDDINGS. you know, the exquisite happy endings where they all live happily ever after forever and ever! *Very nicely said, T. Inherit the Wind is the only Gene Kelly film I have seen. Marjorie Morningstar is the Kelly film I wish to see most. Have you ever seen Xanadu.* stop making fun of my Xanadu! that movie is a REAL piece of work! just because i happen to love all musicals and you dont, doesnt mean you need to be sniooty about my Xanadu! honestly! i thought you liked Olivia newton John anyway! this should brighten up your night. heehee! http://youtube.com/watch?v=HGEiDN3GH-0 http://youtube.com/watch?v=kWEwzzTYgDU
  12. *Hello Theresa--I am so glad to finally be able to say hi to you. Yep-it's your long lost McClintock--loving friend. We had a lot of films in common as I recall--will have to go back and re-read through all the stuff and find your list. Everyone is doing well--how about you? How is school?* well hello to you to! im so glad you are back on here. i have seen your posts, but i had no clue it was you. this is so exciting! so that little one is doing well? aaawwwwwww! school is progressing. i am in my second year of college now. i am most likely going into culinary arts. i wanted badly to be a dress designer, but my family thought i wasnt cut throat enough to do that. heehee! *We walk around here all the time saying "Kitty!" because Monster's Inc has been on the A-list the last few months. She goes in cycles--between her and the grandsons, there for a while is was nothing but Cars-- but lately I've been expandig her horizons a little more. She's even been watching some of the old films we used to watch when my stepsons were boys and still lived at home. So maybe (eventually) I will be able to see some of my other old favorites from time to time.* i love the "kitty!" saying. my momma and i joke about it all the time. i love it when she does the little roar with her hands up in the air. and when she was tired and she rubbed her little eye. that was so cute! so what have you been up to lately? anything special? *Nice to be back in touch with you again.* how loverly! i always love chatting with you too, and im so excited that you are back!
  13. kathy is that you!? im sorry, i didnt realize it was you! how are you? how is that little one of yours? still very active? heehee! please forgive me, i feel so dumbfounded. heehee! you changed your name, silly. i love your list that covers many different kind of movies. *-how many times can you watch Cars, Curious George, Shrek and Monsters Inc before you go insane?? These are certainly movies I watch over and over--- but not necesarily by my own choice* personally, i can watch them over and over again without ever going insane. of course i may have driven my parents slightly off the deep end by watching Beauty and the Beast a(clears throat) few times. heehee! noone can ever get tired of Boo from Monsters Inc. she is just too cute for words! i mean really, when you watch that, you cant get enough of her singing in the bathroom or, "kitty!" or those little piggy tails! i love piggy tails. i dont think i could ever grow up out of loving piggy tails. i noticed you had McClintock! on your list. heehee! i should have known. we musnt forget GW. he is a moral imperative. did you see my list? theresa
  14. *Bonjour, mon amie fabuleuse!!!* bonjour, mon amie intrepide! *Mais oui, not only gorgeous, but classy gorgeous too. I like those screen caps you posted. Interesting that there is only one that is an actual scene from the movie. The others are apparently between-take stills but they are nice. I hope you get to see it. Does you have Netflix?* really? i thought most of them were scenes from the movie. thats interesting. is her hair ever down in the movie like that all curly? its so pretty like that. or is it up gibson style the whole time? no i dont have Netflix. my parents dont do those kind of things. i wish i could have it though, so i could see all helen's movies, well the good ones anyway. *I would say so but I like other stuff too. I like colonial settings because great stories can come out of that, i.e., A Passage To India, The Man Who Would be King, Out of Africa, The Flame Trees of Thicka (PBS MiniSeries), Chocolat (1987, Clair Denis...not to be confused with later film of same title starring Juliette Binoche), and one of my favorites, The Raj Quartet (PBS MiniSeries) and a bunch others.* vous spectacle gout magnifique! i like those kinds of movies, especially Out of Africa! i absolutely love this movie for its plot, acting, actors, when and where it is set, and the intricacy of how it was made. it is so beautiful and portrays a sense of deep emotion. i have heard about the Man Who Would be King, but have never seen that one. i have been told that i would like it. what do you think? *Well, I hope you both can see it...but if you don't like it. I may have to ship out in a hurry* is this a trick question?most anything with helen is great, especially being set in the 1800s. wow! i cant wait! *Oh, and BTW, when you see this, you will behold THE BIGGEST FUSSBUDGET IN THE HISTORY OF WORLD (much less in movies.) Now you must see it. I mean, this fussbudget makes other fussbudgets look like sweetie pies.* i gathered that from your info about it. heehee! it sounds interesting. i guess this means i must see it! *ps...it's not Helen.* phew! it was touch and go there for a second. heehee! or i would have had to get my long black gloves out and find my sword! *Thanks, I'll keep that in mind the next time somebody comes at me with a machete.* you better! we cant have a cut up into little piece laffite! that would be utterly diasasterous! with whome would i practice me french, besides sweet april and frankie? *When I was kid there was pirate in a Peter Pan comic book who was singing:* *Oh the pirates life* *Is a wonderful life* *Ho, ho, ho,* ....and a pirate's life for me. la dee da! *...but I don't think that pirate watches the History Channel much. Boy, there are some programs there about Pirates that make me want to give up the highs seas altogether. I mean I could be having fun somewhere else being tortured.* i dont thini many pirates nowdays watch the history channel much. heehee! they might get scared and run for their mommies. after all every pirate needs a mommy! i dont think you have any more fun being tortured in a dark and damp cave by just anybody. no, the way to be tortured is by an honest pirate....after all, "its the honest ones you ought to look out for, because you never know when they will do something extremely.....stupid!" heehee!
  15. bonjour henry drummond/ frankiefurter! *Ahhh, yes, the all too familiar refrain of disappointment.* hey youre the one who's always mean to me! i just leave to go to bed, if thats leaving you out in the cold, well at least i left you mittnes with a prince and a princess to give you manners and chat with. but no! you decided to get rid of them, and now THEY are left in the gutter somewhere. poor babies! i tried to help you, but no! *How could you not like Forty Guns? I mean, it has a lovely wedding in it.* i liked the acting and the personalities of the character, but i just couldnt get into the plotline. the wedding has nothing to do with it! goodness just because i get weak inthe knees at a wedding and start crying, doesnt mean i succumb to every wedding in the movies......although i do for most of them, but thats not to point and you know it! *i can't see you wanting to waste any tea, and I know your pretend doll wouldn't dare do such a thing, and I can't see a British lass doing so, either. I think I'm safe. And I bet Angela is very proud of her mean performance. It's perfectly chilling! It's almost as cold as a Manhattan blizzard.* well i probably wouldnt waste any tea, but if angela reads what you said about her, SHE'LL want to waste some tea down your back. good and hot too! she isnt one to be gullible, like i am. heehee! angela is a very fiesty one and she get you good and plenty! april give him one of those manhattan blizzards you have been saving up for a sepcial occasion. i think we have waited long enough. heehee! *Smithy is #1! He's an escaped lunatic who fools everyone with his calm demeanor.* my smithy isnt a psycho! he is precious and sweet! does that look like a psycho maniac to you? look at that face! that sweet face! *Who are Mr. and Mrs. Bennet? Are those Smithy's parents? Can you believe he actually offed them both? How awful!* give me a minute to lift myself off the floor! okay im good. mr and mrs bennett are kind sweet parents who want the best for their daughters! hedid most certainly NOT kill them. i might hire him to kill you though! honestly! heehee! *You got to see Inherit the Wind AND To Kill a Mockingbird as a double-feature at the Paramount? Wow! Now that's quite a powerful twinbill. You lucky gal, you. I love Gene Kelly's performance. His "E.K. Hornbeck" is so bitey. I also like the fact that "Drummond" stands up to him when he badmouths "Matt Brady." Unlike Drummond, Hornbeck lacks humanity.* of course! i just came to see To Kill a Mockingbird, b/c i love gregory peck in that movie, but i stayed to see Inherit the Wind beforehand too. gregory looks so handsome on the big screen. imagine if i got to see Valley of DEcision on the big screen with im AND greer! i would be unconscious still! heehee! see, i only liked some scenes of gene kelly in that movie. he ws bitey alright, but he didnt always say the right things like i wanted him to. spence turned out being the better person there. Hornbeck also lacks humility, whereas drummond stood up for most of the right things to do. hornbeck just wasnt as strong as drummond.
  16. *Thank you for providing that link. Yep, there are sure a lot of Lucy and Desi fans around. Why, I know there are even some people who carrying around those silly old I Love Lucy purses...* *Hmmm, who was that now...* hey!! my lucy purse is really cute! and it goes with everything i wear, so thats always a plus. heehee! plus it has little sparkleys on it too. i made one of my own of those proboards like the lucy one, but mine is for greer.....here is the link if you wanna check it out. http://greergarsonrose.proboards57.com/index.cgi?
  17. *But you look so cute that way, I bet* well at least i never need to wear blush. heehee! merci boucoup! i might have spelled that wrong. *Library card! I was talking about the I love lucy purse! How can anyone study with lucy around there all the time. oy!* hey! i love my "i love lucy" purse. its really cute! you wouldnt believe the amount of comments i get on it. *Weekness? You mean they visted orphans every week?* no silly! some of them were orphans so when they were about to kill someone and they said that they were an orphan, they letthem go....then at the the end, they found out that some people didnt really mean it, which was highlyfuny. heehee! *Uh, excuse me, but we pirates don't have scissorhands, okay? We have hooks. 'Course, might not be a bad idea if the old pirate ship gets a barber shop. Hmm, I may have to speak to the cap'n about this.* scissorhands, hooks, same difference. a barber shop? forget the barber shop....get a bathtub. heehee! all pirates should be clean! notthat im saying your a dirty pirate....no never! heehee! *Fencing? Uh, sorry, pirates don't build fences. I hope Stewart Granger didn't build no stinking fences in Scaramouche, gee, that would be silly. I bet he did a little swordfighting, though* they could if they wanted to! building a fence is fun! and stewart granger was strong enough to help me. heehee! *Not so, I'm afraid. Laffite, the swashy high brow swooner knows precious little of G&S operetta and is certainly no match for Kevin Kline. I like the Linda idea though.* i bet you could try! i dont generally like too much linda ronstadt, but i do like her in that operetta and she has a pleasant voice. i would rather see celine dion in there with kevin kline. heehee! but im not surely that part was her speed. wouldnt it be fun to be kevin kline and dance with angela lansbury? heehee! *Tu m'a parfaitment compris en francais. Magnifique! Je te donne un A. Tu es tres bonne etudiante, je le vois bien!* merci mon ami pirate!
  18. i know, thats what i tried...on google and i couldnt find any either. that is rather disappointing. i had at least hoped to see some gorgeous pics of her when she was younger too, but they didnt give me too much of a selection. dont you just love her fiesty character in that movie? she's so funny!...and grumpy. she made me wanna ask her, "what side of the bed did you wake up this morning?"
  19. *As you say, "banana oil!" I wish we all could go, too. Like Ange, I'm busted after* *my last trip (taken at the same time!)* you cant blame a girl for trying. heehee! dahlink, i have to get that louis b. mayer bio you were telling me about yesterday. i found the name of the other bio i read on him. this is it. Merchant Of Dreams http://www.amazon.com/Merchant-Dreams-M-G-M-Secret-Hollywood/dp/1556113455
  20. heehee! jackie you just tickled me! i love those screencaps! thank you so much for doing that...i needed a giggle today. you forgot one though. you know spring byington's character in Theodora Goes Wild? when theodora brings a baby to her hometown and spring sees it, she faints. i love that scene. i cant find a pic of it, forgive me?
  21. oh man!!! april, we didnt get the reaction i hoped for from angie. banana oil! heehee! jeff had to go spoil it. heehee! would i ever love to go see that on the big screen. it doesnt even have to be on the big screen, ill tek it on the tiniest DVD player please. heehee! jsut so long as i can see it. SIGHS! i think all of us cooper trooper sisters should all take a trip together and see it!
  22. oh my goodness! jackie i couldnt have said it better myself! that was very well written and i thoroughly agree with you on *Wanted*. all my fellow co-workers at the Hyatt want to really go see that movie and i have gotten a full review on it from some of them. thwe sotry plot in itself is empty and lacks imagination just by the sound of it. from what they told me, it sounds like they went to see it just for the violence and "sexyness" of angelina jolie. this movie is a great example of how the wonderful movie heroes have gone down in this modern age. heroes like gary cooper, the Duke, dana andrews, robert ryan, jimmy stewart, and even 70s actors and many more are one of so many other reasons to actually sit and watch a great older movie other than settle for a poorly made movie out today with hardly as much imagination thought into it.
  23. bonjour mr henry drummond! *You have such wonderful faith in me, Sweet T. Did you think my list would be full of psychotic serial killers like "Smithy"?* well you know me. heehee! im always a sucker for such faithfulness in you. i excpected your list to be just as it was...unfortunately. heehee! *I love Forty Guns! There are so many highpoints in the film and they happen so very fast. Barbara Stanwyck is terrific and I really like Barry Sullivan's coolness. Heck, I even like the song a lot. Sam Fuller!* i have to confess that i rather liked barry sullivan's and barbara stanwyk's performances in it. they were brilliant! but the story wasnt my type. it didnt click with me. sorry. although you got me on the song, i love it too! *Mean Angela is the best. She's terrifyingly brilliant as "Mrs. Iselin." I couldn't put her in the "loud" group because she talks in a soft tone. And I couldn't put her in the "quiet" group because she's always talking and in control. She's loud in a quiet way.* oh no!!!!!! you just ruined angela! i hope she never reads this or you will be in deep trouble mister! what do you mean, angela is best when being mean?! honestly! mrs. potts wouldnever approve of such foolish behavior, she would help me and april spill boiling tea down your back. heehee! i dont mind The Manchurian Candidate, but i just hate that they made her so brainwashingly mean! yucky!....although she did a great job, but that isnt the point here! heehee! everytime i look into her eyes in that movie i can actually feel the meanness in her! but i suppose thats how great she is at acting, one of the best. *I can feel your great disappointment. Do you wish for me to come up with a psychos list for you?* now why would i wish such a thing? although i would like to see that list please...just curious. but smithy better not be on it....or else out come the long black gloves! *Hey! The mix of a "quiet" man and a "loud" woman usually works for me.* gee, its no wonder why you like the relationship between mr. and mrs. bennett. heehee! *I like "Henry Drummond." He's very human. He doesn't wish to quiet anyone. He can have great respect for those who he disagrees with and he has the capability to show disdain for those he agrees with. He's not just one color, he's many. That's how I fancy myself.* oh yes, i see. i actually respect his character very much in that movie, although it jumps from gene kelly's character to spence's. the first time i watched it, i got confused. actually the first time i saw it was in the paramount theater on the big screen right before To Kill a Mockingbird, and i got so confused with everything that was going on between those two characters. i had to watch it a second time before i got more of it....and my opinion still jumps from character to character in that movie, although i do appreciate the views of henry drummond more so than gene kelly's character msot times.
  24. .....and you say you havent watched the film, frankie.....tsk tsk tsk. heehee! you and your fussbudgets list are pathetic. heehee! you only post that picture so as i wont drown you again....you kis up you. dont worry mama, ill get you some chicken broth!
