*You dream about FrankGrimes???* you know, it possibly might very well be mr, frankie! oh my goodness! he's the serial killer in nightmares! he is never to be trusted again! heehee! *I have those "killer" dreams too, frequently, but there's is never anyone remotely like Gary around to help* oh my goodness, you have those too?! i had those nightmares when i was really little too, but gary wsnt in them yet to save me, so i ended up gettting really hurt in some and then in more i actually got to beat the bad guy and whip him into shape, but only rarely did i ever win those without gary in them. they are just too weird though b/c it is always the same guy! is there ever anyone to help you in your bad dreams? ro do you kick the bad guy's butt too? heehee! -
missmusical, thats the movie that scared me to DEATH when i was really little. i hate stephen king's IT!!! it came out the year i was born and my daddy wanted to see it, so when it came on TV, EVERY single time it came on, he just had to watch it. ever since then i have been scared of clowns and i got a bunk bed when i was 8 years old, so every night when i turned out the lights i always thought pennywise would pop out from underneath it and eat me. i dreaded if he popped up in the bathroom when i was washing my face or eating a fortune cookie in an asian restaurant, and say, "they float, they all float and you can float too." those very words give me goose bumps and my daddy says it all the time to give me the willygillies on purpose! thats still clark gable in your dream though dahlink! i havent had one with him in it...yet. who knows with my weird dreams. i have more nightmares than dreams too oddly enough. i have this one recurring nightmare where i am being chased by a cerial killer and i can never see his face. he is always in the shadows or under a large cloak, and wherever i go, he turns up wanting to stab me, or shoot me, or strangle me. its scary! most of the time (not all the time) right when im caught and about to be killed, gary shows up and catches the bad guy and always ALWAYS right before he kisses me, i have to wake up! honestly! i think only in one of those, i had the chance to kiss him. sometimes i wake up in the middle of the dream when im caught, but gary doesnt show up.. how disappointing for me! -

i love The Rains Came, especially the music store in it. it is so beautiful and really makes me pause for a minute to think about how them usic itself fits into the picture of the movie plot. the music for each movie is important to be responsible for, b/c without the music, it wouldnt be half of the special value they are. *You go from freezing me out to burning my skin. Such cruelty! I wonder where you have learned your evil ways. Hmmmm...* well me and april had to thaw you out somehow, and that seemed to be the first thing popped in my head. you think its too violent? why mr. grimes, you are the one who watches Zodiac and No Country For Old Men. when such violence enters one's mind, they should be publicly exposed! *I've seen over 100 film noir, over 50 westerns, and over 30 silents. I've seen 49 Hitch films, for goodness sake. That mix alone gets me to 250 classics. Gone with the Wind counts as 100 movies since it's so loooooooooooooooooooooong and tedious. Oh, wait, I still have to watch that one. And don't get me started on Coop and Greer movies. I'm starting to get sleepy.* hey, you have seen 49 hitchcock movies? how about that i have seen 51 of his movies. heehee! i bet you have seen more than what you have just told me. what about non-silent, non-western, non-film noir movies? come now, you have seen a few mushy romantic movies, admit it! GWTW is a great classic and you have to have seen it, b/c i have read most of your GWTW posts. all those screen pics arent from guessing. honestly, you arent a very good liar. as for greer and gary, you HAVE seen some of their movies and LIKED them and you know it. just because you make fun of smithy, doesnt mean you hate him. -

*Ohhhh, they deserve to live but I don't? Thanks for the love. See, this is what happens when you talk to finishing school girls that hang up on you.* your welcome! i thought you would enjoy that hug. heehee! she didnt hang up on me, i accidentally hung up on her. my phone ran out of juice! it wasnt my fault! goodness! *The mittens ended up leaving each other and leaving my fingers all by their frozen lonesome. It turns out the girl mitten didn't love the boy mitten, so she put an ocean between them. I don't know where they would learn such foolishness. You'd think love would conquer all, but I suppose not. Mittens. What do they know?* they wouldnt leave each other, they were in love, you wouldnt know anything about that.....the girl mitten didnt leave and put the ocean between them...at least greer came back and resolved everything! *Not more Shawn Johnson! Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!* oh poor shawn. she is so talented, you dont like her? how about some kerri strug?!! yay kerri!! *I'm smiling at Gene's not smiling. Wow! I just love that photo of Gene.* and you wonder why gene was in all those film noirs. she needed to smile more so they could cast her in some mushy romantic movies. heehee!...maybe a comedy or two wouldnt hurt. heehee! *I think she was telling ol' Mr. Chips that he's chilly, just like, ummm, well, some lass from...* excuse me?! lass from where? well mr. chips needed to bew told that he was chilly, so he could loosen up and love her and be loved by all his students. honestly, she story would be different and not as good if she hadnt told him that. -

*Bonjour, Mademoiselle, comment vas-tu!* bonjour laffite gentil!! *A moral imperative!!! Yike, where's my library card. (Remember those!)* yes you must learn to never loose your library card silly! i always keep mine safe in my sweet i love lucy purse. heehee! *Tough nut to crack, that Mr Grimes. Sometime it takes an outsider to pierce the armor.* *you dont know the half of it. you really are lucky.* *Hmm, better leave that one alone.* heehee! boy you better. you might blush, i know i am. *Well, not that much. Breathing is nice too.* breathing is highly overrated. why on earth would you wish to do this. *Yes, I am a good pirate. In fact, if the World Wide Pirates Association (WWPA) gave me a pirate test for full bona fide pirate status, I'm sure I would fail miserably. Then I would have to go back to the Pinafore and peel potatoes.* ay mate! at least when you peel potatoes you are safe. heehee! i wouldnt fight with ty power or errol flynn though, you might get killed! on the other hand, captain blood, you might prove to be an aristocratic swashbuckler after all! -
thank you dahlink!! oh you mean her character in And Now Tomorrow? yes i love her character too. she was so strong and didnt feel sorry for herself when she turned def. she did everything she could without ever losing hope! of course alan didnt help much with his pride of looking down on her at first for being rich. i think what she said was, "it was the first time i ever saw hatred staring at me." when they were both kids. do you wish to make your male character list first or shall i?

William Wyler is my all time favorite director!!!! i just love his creativity with the camera and i havent seen one movie of his that i didnt like. he deserves great recognition and i wish him the best happy birthday! happy b-day billy boy! heehee! -
yes they were, i would have loved to see ida play in that movie! were there any films you would have loved to see bette play?
-
i could so see that too! thats actually the first movie that popped into my head as seeing ida being able to play a bette role. heehee! i could also see ida ironically playing charlotte vale in Now Voyager. bette did awesome in this movie, and i wouldnt change that, but i think if they made another version of this with ida i would have loved to compare them!
-
okay, ill try again.... Quiet/reserved: ida lupino as Libby Saul in *deep valley* greer garson as elizabeth bennett in *pride and prejudice* margaret o'brien as beth in *little women* junie allyson as patsy deyo in *two girls and a sailor* loretta young as rachel harvey in *rachel and the stranger* loretta young as katrin holstrom in *the farmer's daughter* dana wynter as erika angermann in *fraulein* chatty/outgoing: greer garson as paula ridgeway in *random harvest* greer garson as Julia Packett in *julia misbehaves* penny singleton as Belinda "bill" in *go west, young lady* audrey hepburn as Holly Golightly in *breakfast at tiffany's* marsha hunt as connie scott in *valley of decision* julie andrews as fraulein maria in *the sound of music* eleanor parker as mary stewart chern in *many rivers to cross* julie andrews as millie dilmount in *thoroughly modern millie* judy garland as lily mars in *presenting lily mars*

i was thinking the same thing. to me, bette was always so carefree and wasnt afraid to seem at all masculine sort of when acting and in her looks too. she looked more feminie when she was younger, but ida had a very feminine appeal and it was in her acting creativity too. ill usually watch a movie just because ida is in it too, i just love her as any character and she makes every role so believable too. you cant say that about every actor or actress.

*Good afternoon, Invisible Woman -- what do you try to do, make friends and then pick on them every chance you get, basically making powerful enemies of all of us innocent girlies?...phew! i got that off my chest. heehee!* *You just made me laugh out loud!* well its the least i could do, since you plastered my dignity all over the place. heehee! *I haven't sent you any messages. You must have me confused with someone else. It must be catching because Miss G and Minya are constantly confused.* im sorry, give me a chance to pick up my jaw! *Now would I ever do such a thing as steal? I'm not a pirate or a crazy Smithy, I'm a gentleman* ha! yes you would mr-i-think-i-am-a-gentleman. yes, you are a pirate, but a bad one. lafitte, touche him! *The loving pink hearts girl who wishes to be smothered in hugs and kisses, that's who.* how cute. *Woohoo!* thats one my mother would happen to watch constatly! *"Sweet and Innocent"?* heehee! oh you mean this song? it certainly wouldnt refer to you if thats what you mean. heehee! *its one of our 80s songs* *Ahhh, "Sweetest Thing (I've Ever Known)."* dont do that, i get all soft when you do that! *Oh, goodness. Will your tree ever run out of sap?* of course not! its the sap that keeps me going, if i ran out of sap, i might collapse to my death and you wouldnt want that would you?...WAIT!! dont answer that. -
Pride and Prejudice (1940) A TRUE Romance!
butterscotchgreer replied to butterscotchgreer's topic in Films and Filmmakers
yes he was, thats exactly what i was referring to. heehee! i mean at leaast the abominable snowman had a smile on his face. nowadays you dont see mr. grimes with a smile on his face too much without cracking up at his own remarks out us innocent girls. -
*quiet and reserved or loud and chatty?* holy joe! maybe a combo. heehee! i seem to lean more towards characters with an outgoing personality, who love to talk with people, but arent too boistrous in the process of doing so, like *Mrs. Bennett*. heehee! i guess it depends upon which movie we are talking about. i love characters everywhere from *Holly Golightly*, to *Smithy*. heehee! shall i make a list?

abominable he is, sweet he is not! heehee! i think he should try sweetness every once in a blue moon, it might make the abominable affect look nice and cuddly after a while. -
yes i know! i think she could carry out any character she wanted and completely get away with it, making such a role great even if it didnt fit her. im more inclined to watch her more shy goody roles as i told you, but i do still like to watch her in all of her movies, no matter who she plays. she was almost like a bette davis...she could pull off any character!
-
okay im here april can i play? heehee! can i make some lists with you?

All she does is leave me out in the cold.* hey!! i told you im under appreciated by him, april! all he does is pick on me, and leave ME in the cold on purpose, when i only did it on accident! talk about holding grudges like SNIPPY people tend to do. heehee!
