  1. oh dont give me this question. heehee! i absolutely love both!!! my favorite judy movies: presenting lily mars, the harvey girls, girl crazy....but i love every single one of her movies too. my favorite doris movies: jumbo, on moonlight bay, glass bottom boat....but i love all of hers too.
  2. i love carmen miranda too!! i think i have seen all of her movies and always love when her sassiness pops up. she always makes me laugh and her songs are too cute too! you think mickey does her justice? ....nah! heehee!
  3. hey bronxie!!! yes she was so pretty in Invasion of the Body Snatchers. i just love her acting in that one especially!l i saw you guys were talking about Edward andrews, i remember him in 16 candles with the glasses! he seemed so mean in that one though. heehee!
  4. i love leslie caron and my first movie that i saw of hers was Father Goose and then it was American in Paris and Daddy Long Legs and Fanny, but then it jumps to this movie. i hadnt seen it in a long time and had forgoten most of it so i recorded it. but when i watched it, it just didnt seem like a typical leslie caron movie for me. i mean, she was gorgeous as always and her acting was AMAZING, and she deserved the Oscar nod......but when that scene came up with her in bed with her new writer boyfriend, i was like, "WOAH!!.....okay". that may just be my opinion, but it bothered me. i mean it sort of makes her out to be a sleaze, and she was far from it! but i kept on watching the movie anyway, b/c i do love leslie's movies. all in all i liked the movie with the exception of a few questionable parts that just didnt fit leslie, herself. maybe im just a naive teenager. any comments?
  5. april april!! looky looky what i found!! my Greer with the Duke! i know you arent here right now, but when you come back we can finish our tea party!
  6. hey johanna!! i love that scene, thanks for sharing that! poor girl didnt know how to handle a gun....i just love it when she tells all the guys in the saloon to stick 'em up, but then accidentally shoots a chandelier and apologizes. heehee! so funny!
  7. hey FG!! while i enjoyed the marathon of judy movies on TCM i do agree with you. they could have put a bit more spirit into it. but look at the bright side, at least she GOT a marathon this year. i remember getting sad last year, b/c they didnt even have one for her. so i was a happy camper when they actually showed them. oh i hate saying bad things about dirk bogarde, b/c he had such beautiful eyes and wasnt a bad actore, but i do hate the things he said about judy. when i read about that, i was smiling at first b/c he had said that when they first started shooting I Could Go On Singing, he looked to her as a role model, but i didnt appreciated it when he called her "IT" by the end of shooting.
  8. hey caroline!! im glad you got to watch all those special judy movies! she was a special person ideed, and always will be. i dont think that story is true about her cutting up her own face, i think pete was just saying that. and even if it was true i choose to be a skepticist about it. especially when it comes to judy. she was a very fragile person and people needed to understand that about her. but thanks for sharing that with us! yes i loved her in The Pirate with Gene! i dont see how that movie was ever a let down for anybody like i have heard.l it is such a cute movie with great coreography and great acting, especially judy's singing and comic parts! you know, gene once said that she wasnt a dancer, but she could always pick ANYTHING up in a heart beat without practice, but i think she was. i mean watch them dance together in Summer Stock or with mickey roomey in Girl Crazy orEaster Parade with good ol' freddy. of course she was a dancer, just not as much of a dancer as annie miller, og gene himself, or leslie caron or freddy or eleanor powell. but when she DID dance, she lit up the room with a glow with which ever partner she had....like the Champions were! heehee!
  9. i have that CD set too!!! i love all the songs on it!! every time i hear frankie sing "Moon River", my eyes get teary. oh! heehee! *Ok Theresa now you've gone and done it, now I gotta go put on the CD! LOL Now I feel like listening to some frankie! heeheehee* i have officially found my gift!! i have the gift of persuasion! heehee! probably not, but hey its fun! i love those pictures, do you really like Achors Aweigh? i love that one! and On the Town too. i just love the pairing of him and betty garrett in that and in Take Me Out to the BallGame. they are soooooooo cute!
  10. *Dana Wynter (along with Barbara Rush) is one of my favorite actresses.* hey cinie!! i also love dana wynter!! she is one of my top favorites as well! hey bronxie!! *"I watched 'The Unlocked Window' recently and it scared me silly, too..."* this is a scary episode, but it is one of my favorites. it really captures alfred's scary side. heehee! it shows his ability to completely fool the audience into thinking the wrong thing. its confusing, but its cool! it also has dana in it, and she looks so gorgeous in it!! i have been watching many of these Alfred Hitchcock episodes on the Chiller channel and am loving them. some of them i dont mind as well as others, but most of them are really cool to watch. and i just love seeing alfred stare me down at the beginnig of every one of them. ghonestly! he scares me sometimes! and i dont mean that in an offensive way alfred. heehee! dana with danny kaye in one of my all time favorites On the Double. just look at that dress!!

  14. *Hi Theresa, Here we are in June, and I still miss our Frankie. I looked forward to every Wednesday and Sunday night. Tuesday night I watched "Some Came Running". I am rereading "My Father`s Daughter" by Tina Sinatra. The book was published in 2000. The last twenty years of Frank`s life were not happy. I can understand why his last wife was not invited to the postal ceremony. It is not nice to be greedy. Thanks for taping the Frank Gene Kelly special. My vcr will only play tapes. It can no longer record or make another tape. Maybe we can exchange emails.* hey maureen!! sorry, from the bottom of my heart. my computer is being a little on the loopy side. heehee! can you PM me your email? we can correspond about the trading then. i really wanna read that book in the near future, so when i finally get a copy, ill let you know what i think of it k. it sounds highly interesting! and your very very welcome, it was no trouble at all to record it for you.
  15. *Hi Theresa, Wow, another Frankie fan joined the group, and she knows you. How nice the she posted photos of our guy. I am still going thru my FS tapes, and tonight I watched an A & E biography that was shown three weeks after Frank died. It was interesting because Frank made comments throughout. The program included clips from Frank`s 1950`s and 1960`s TV specials. Frank sitting at a bar singing "One for My Baby", a duet with Elvis Frank singing "love Me Tender and Elvis singing "Witchcraft", and Frankie singing to an adoring Juliet Prowse. An interesting clip was Frank and Gene Kelly rehearsing for "Ole Blue Eyes Is Back".I do not receive the biography channel anymore, but it is still on the air.* hey maureen!! how loverly, i get to chat with you too! i remember seeing that A&E special a long time ago, but i never did record it! banana oil! heehee! would you mind possibly copying that for me maureen? pretty please if it isnt too much trouble? i copied the frankie special with gene for you and its all ready to go.

  18. *I would love some of Grandmama's brownies---but only if the calories are purely imaginary.* oh nothing but the best, with imaginary calories....actually grandma is on a diet right now and she is experimenting with every possible dessert with the fewest calories and no sugar that taste relatively good. heehee! so no worries big sis! im on my third cuppa forthe night. i simply cant go through a night without my heavenly tea and a good appy movie to go with it.....im watching Pal Joey right now. heehee! ...and singing your favorite song by the way. look who wants to join our little tea party! thank you helen, i think i would like som more....she's asking you now april.
