Pride and Prejudice (1940) A TRUE Romance!
butterscotchgreer replied to butterscotchgreer's topic in Films and Filmmakers
*Frank, ButterScotch...will you two ever kiss and make up over this issue of "Pride and Prejudice"???* hey cinie!! i dont think mr. ostentatious will ever give up this fight. it is one where he seems to take pride in being mean and hateful toward characters of perfection. heehee! -
hey caroline! i think that out of all the musicals i have seen, this has to be my least favorite. now i dont mean to offend anyone on here who absolutely loves frankie with brando, but to me, brando just wasnt suited for this role. i have seen so many musicals that i seem to gravitate more toward the people who arent in the mob as much. i just didnt like the plot although i didnt mind that it was about the gangsters who wanted to be good, but it just wasnt my kinda musical. although i LOOOOOOVEEE frankie in it and thesongs were gorgeously done with high spirits and i love singing them. and i love the ending, that was a plus for me! heehee! i guess you can understand why, but i dont wanna give it away for people who havent seen it. its just that whenever frankie comes on actually as a gangster, grandmama always goes, "look, there's your buddy, the gangster. bing was better." she does this, b/c she knows i like frankie more than bing she always rubs it in that she thinks he was an actual gangster. i always tell her this wasnt so. heehee!! i cant see frankie as being a ganster in real life, b/c he'll always be my frankie who swoons the bobby-soxers...not the frankie who was a gangster. it makes me a little testy. heehee! but he looks awefully gorgeous in it.

Who Are Your Favorite Movie Moms?
butterscotchgreer replied to FrankGrimes's topic in Your Favorites
*I forgot to post Angela from The Manchurian Candidate!* i noticed that. i thought that would be right at the top of your list! im ashamed of you! heehee! thanks for those angie lansbury pics!! i just love her, but i hate that her character was so mean! but she did a GREAT job at being mean. heehee! what can i say? she was versatile. *She was a mother to Smithy, too.* no she was not! oka okay, maybe she was a mother FIGURE for a while to take care of him, but i was thinking along the lines of a nurse/sweetheart. heehee! he loved her more than just as a mother darlin'. she loved him more than a son figure too, so it all boils down to them loving each other as much as they could! *Your list was rather sappy. That's unlike you. I'll look to post some "Mama Bennett" for you later on. She goes on the "annoying mom" list .* oh thank you, but mama bennett wasnt annoying to me. i found it rather hilarious how cute she was when being annoying to papa bennett. she always made me laugh! heehee! but i dont think i would want my own mama to push me into a marriage just because he is rich. that would make me mad like it did lizzie. nevertheless, i think mary boland did a fantastic job! oh my goodness! i forgot about lane meyer's momma!!! could you ever forgive me!? pretty please! i should have put her at the top of my list! momma ~"its got raisins in it, you like raisins." lane ~"beth broke up with me." momma ~"oh....thats nice (while smiling and vacuuming)" honestly, that dinner scene you posted is her best scene! i love it!!!!! "french dressing.....and to drink....peru!" heehee! always gets me! that made my morning, thank you frankie! i love that hand shaking scene too with lane and monique! -

*Swoon! How am I to tease you after you provided me with that kind of love? You are supposed to be obstinate at all times.* well here i am, minding my own business looking for cute little frankie videos and up pops miss impassive with frankie's voice in the backgroud, so i figured the least i could do was show it to you. *Awwwwww. Grace is a perfect lady.* yeah....in your own world. in the real world of the cooper troopers that just isnt so. heehee! sorry to disillusion you. heehee! *No pretend doll can be a perfect lady. Maybe she's a perfect doll.* if she is a perfect doll, that must mean she is a perfect lady...for joe's sake! *You're not allowed to pout! I cannot resist pouting.* im sorry, but youre making me! i just canet help it wen im around you. its like those mysterious migranes that appear for no reason. heehee! *Well, my opinion is all that counts. You should know that* so youre saying that my opinion never counts? im just small and insignificant? APRIL!!!! he's making me cry! *I haven't seen it, Miss Swan. You'd never catch me watching such violence* if a Disney movie is "such violence" what do you call There Will Be Blood? i'd never catch you watching that kind of movie huh?.......does this ring a bell? Zodiac. honestly that titles haunts me just by saying it. it sounds as bad as "rosebud". think about it, "zodiac.....rosebud". they both give me a fright! *Did you put your pretend doll in her doll house?* no, she went all by herself. she was sleepy. i think YOU wore her out today. shame shame, you know youre name! *"bring me down, bruce"!* by the way, did you happen to catch my little 80s reference? or was it the late 70s?

-
oh frankie, look what i found for you with the other frankie singing. just your speed...dont you just love the song? i cant say the same for the certain someone who's featured in this video. hehee! *If your pretend doll is a perfect lady, I shudder to think what an imperfect lady would be like* thats easy, just keep watching that video up there and youll figure it out....one of these days. heehee! and she, meaning april is a perfect lady! *You're obstinate, that's what you are.* im pouting! i guess i saw that comin'. heehee! im still pouting! *And you don't have me down to "T", T.* well that might be a matter of opinion fly boy. *Thanks, Jack* banana oil! i was hoping you hadnt seen that one. heehee! just call me miss swan. heehee! *I guess you are right. I prefer not to understand because understanding means you are dead.* and april just happens to be asleep so she cant help me push you into the caramel! honestly, you pick the best times to "bring me down, bruce"!
-

oops! johnny lost his mustache! heehee! as handsome as johnny is, i think i prefer him with the mustache. im just so used to that mustache on him that ive started liking his movies with the mustache. heehee!
-
i think this is a mighty handsome picture of johnny boy. heehee!
-
youre welcome dahlink and lafitte! i love that one of her!

*Don't even try to rule you and your pretend doll out of the guilty parade. You two are as guilty as guilty can be. You've got me trumped.* im not trying to rule anybody out of anything. me and april dont need to be ruled out, since we are perfect ladies to begin with. heehee! well at least april is, im still trying to figure out what i am. heehee! you i have down to a "T". heehee! "honestly, its the honest ones you ought to look out for, because you never know when they will do something extremely...........stupid." heehee! *I certainly do not understand young "ladies." Nobody does* thats because you dont want to. if you really understood young ladies and wanted to, then we wouldnt be having this discussion sillygoose. heehee!
-
*No! I'm innocent, meaning I'm guilty. I've been accused of not doing things for quite some time* with the exception of me and april, te innocent ones are always the guilty ones. heehee! meaning im directing my comment to thee! heehee! *What knowledge? That's what I'm suspicious of.* my intuition didnt you know? oh, this is because you dont understand women....excuse me, young ladies. heehee!
-
i might have mentioned it before, but my favorite barrymore is definitely and always will be Ethel Barrymore!!! heehee! i love her in al herm ovie, especially in Farmer's Daughter. i always wanted her to get with charles bickford in it. they were so cute in it together!!!
-
are you kissing up to us when you just said you havent done anything? this brings suspicion to my knowledge. heehee! but it is a cute pic, i love him from that movie, thanks for providing that!

Pride and Prejudice (1940) A TRUE Romance!
butterscotchgreer replied to butterscotchgreer's topic in Films and Filmmakers
*I'm not being tricked. I know they are bad.* no youre just experienceing a mild case of spell exhaustion. just relax and itll be over befoe you know it. heehee! *Okay, I've made up my mind: you are an obstinately sweet and snippy sneak.* what a combination for a girl. im confused already. so many nicknames. i feel put upon! lizzy would never stand for this! *Issues like what?* putting up with you silly goose! *Well, it was "in the script" that Francie had to turn The Cat in. She didn't realize she loved him then, either. She had to learn she loved him. Stubborn girls are like this.* oh so you are now admitting she was stubborn and hard-headed? great! april! we are finally getting through to him! now dont go mixing her up with me. im not stubborn."im a good girl i am. i wahsed my face and 'ands before i come i did!" ~ heehee! *No! You'll sing me Celine Dion and that'll make me angry.* youre right, i think ill start right now. so there! im sticking my tongue out at you. heehee! *I'm smiling upside-down.* im sorry im sorry!!! ill never do it again! i promise. hehee! please smile upsdie right for me!!! look, im gonna ruin my BEAUTIFUL Pride and Pejudice thread for a second just to make you happy! you better like it too! or else! *I told you that your beauty shall haunt a mansion forever. And your trashy taste in film haunts this board* i dont like to haunt anyone! if my trashy taste in films haunts this board, then what is your hidious taste in films doing, throwing parties? *That's because she had a couple dates with richer men lined up. When those men wisely turned her indecent advances down, she chose ol' puddin' face, Mr. Darcy.* okaynow youre confusing mr. darcy with mr. collins. you cant confuse such two different people. never compare my mr. darcy with puddin' face mr. collins! my mr. darcy is far from a puddin's face. i could just melt into his arms. *You're the second-to-last person I'd want telling me someone wasn't snippy. You don't think you are snippy.* well im glad im not the first person. and stop picking on april! neithr of us are snippy., its in your imagination.....youre much too active imagination! *Mr. Darcy had to be shown what? He's a snob from start to finish, just as Lizzie is snippy from start to finish.* he wasnt a snob, he was just a little supercilious to start, but he was misunderstood. lizzy had to show him the way. she has to put into his mind that he isnt suppose to be so snippy, so he changed naturally to a beautiful person, but he always was one. he just had to let it out his hard shell. heehee! *I should say so! I can actually see the shape of Greer's legs. How revolting! Women need to be covered in many layers of clothing at all times.* why dont you become this modest when looking at all of your other girlfriends' pictures? that isnt fair! *Seeing a woman drop her dress in a moving picture startled me so. I was not prepared to see such lewd behavior.* your pants are so smoking!!! heehee! i have officially caught you admitting you have watched the movie by the way. heehee! *It wasn't Darcy's fault, it was Lizzie's. Lizzie refused Darcy's love immediately. Even after he spoke so highly of her beauty and charm when he first saw her. The only reason Lizzie "loves" him is that he's rich. I really do like Jane Austen and the lessons she teaches young girls. It's very intelligent.* excuse me mr. furter, but kane austen teaches women very valuable lessons about not being proud and prejudice. obviously, just look at the title! mr. whickam wasnt rich and she was first infatuated with him, but she quickly leanred that he was a menacing fool! -
'ello dahlink! i thought Hangman's House was an interesting movie. i didnt go for it as much as i wanted to before seeing it. i didnt like what happened to the girl, june collyer in it. i was surprised and sad! althought i did like victor in it. heehee! cutie! i caught a glimpse of john wayne in this early one too, so i was real excited about that when i first saw this.
