  1. Your doll talks to you and says bad things about me? Are you okay? By the way, there is one WOMAN on the board who doesn't have to say one little thing to get under me skin. Her powerful, snippy perfume makes my skin crawl. she isnt a doll! im not calvin, and she isnt hobbes ya know! goodness! if you are referring to me and my perfume, i thin it is very pretty so you will have to smell it for the time being.heehee! KISS MY GRITS! heehee! Of course I do! Do you really expect me to like it? Greer Garson is in it, so there's absolutely no way I can like it. None. well knowing you......yes i do expect you to like it. heehee! you are a softy underneath the bad boy film noirness. heehee! I guess you are right because I believe in wedding vows, unlike that homewreckin' Mary Rafferty. She's worse than any femme fatale. see you believe in wedding vows!....wait now, lets not being poor mary rafferty in this conversation. poor baby gets so picked on by you. she didnt even do anything wrong......especially to you! *if greer garson is in it, it must be a whopper of a movie and totally worth seeing. wouldnt you whole-heartedly agree with me?* *I agree! I love Greer Garson in To Catch a Thief, Rear Window, High Noon, and Mogambo. She's a total sweetheart.* well you got half of it right. she is a swethert, but the only person i seem to recall in those movies is a blonde who shows no emotion. you might have heard her name around here in some places....miss impassive. *Mr. Collins is my favorite, so I shall call you "Liza," Liza.* *but "liza" reminds me of liza minelli, cant you just call me lizzie? heehee!* *No! I think "Liza" suits you best. It matches your prissy way.* well i think ken suits your personality just fine too. heehee! *Killing snobs is for good.* *but you call me a snob just the other day?......does this mean you are wanting me to be killed off....and by my greer? what a dreadful thought! APRIL why didnt he die in the chocolate?! we need to come up with something majorly quick!* *You're definitely a Jane Austen snob and it's only a matter of time before "Paula" smacks you over the head like she did Smithy. I think you need a good crack anyways.* paula is too lady like to crack me on the head! maybe you would stoop to something like that, but she wouldnt! *my idea of an intellectual story is the one i am reading called "North by Northanger"* *lizzie and darcy are married and pregnant and are solving a mystery! beat that one!* *Ohh, that's a great book! Can you believe Lizzy cheated on Darcy and is carrying another man's child? I wonder if Darcy will find out who the mystery man. Don't look at me.* i cant believeyou just said that about my book! APRIL!!!!!! hurry up, and help me over here! please dont leave me alone withthis monkey boy anymore! he hurts my feelings too much! what mystery man are you referring too? is there something i should know? yes?
  2. i will see if i can get maybe an old VHS tape on Ebay....i would actually like to purchase the Ford set that you have. i love all the movies in that set and would absolutely be in heaven. i think ill just wait until i have saved enough money to get that whole set. thanks though big sis! you know i have noticed TCM doesnt play many things for the longest time. grandmama gets on MY case about that. she thinks since i come on here all the time, i chose to have control over what movies they play. i just tell her not to shoot the messenger, heehee! she wants to go work at the TCM place for a whole year and tel them to play all the ones they never do play that not many people get a chance to see the first and only time they play it. heehee! i can witness some of those! i think its too funny!
  3. *Do you think they could make me one that said ?Angie and Gary??* stand in line sis! heehee! *I may have to send off for that pamphlet so I can learn the difference between sex and love . Also that glow in the dark sweetheart pin looked pretty spiffy.* yeah i bet that pin would fit real great in the rest of your collection of pretty pins. hey you could see them all in the dark with that one beside them. im still trying to gather my thoughts on the pamphlet about sex and love. heehee! that one made me crack up! how i would have kloved to see you jump up on your desk! i would have been laughing hysterically probably! i bet you couldnt stop giggling after that! i could just see it! let me know when the exterminator comes, so i can tell them to give me some of the mice to put in frankie's bed. heehee! i hope he didnt hear me say that! the singing part is why i love that article so much! i just loved when he sang to me in Melody Jones, and then when i heard him sing in The Virginian, i just went to pieces in front of my little TV.
  4. oh my goodness sweet april! out of all those screencaps, you posted my two favorite scenes from The World Moves On....the two bedroom scenes, where he puts on her necklace and where they kiss pasionately. i think i could watch this movie over and over and over again!!! unfortunately i have only seen it a couple times and i dont have a copy of it for myself. i would absolutely love to have a copy i havent seen it lately on TCM, or maybe i missed it? well anyway, thanks for those. i just love this movie!
  5. oh i almost forgot.....this is what happens when my computer at home wont let me onto this thread mysteriously. heehee! i have to catch up....its a moral imperative! anywho, here's the article i promised with gary and the bobby-soxers. i just love this! and it was written while he was making MELODY JONES!! yay! and there's one with Roddy McDowell too! oh! sweet mama!! i forgot the rest of it. heehee! 6. that cartoon was made in 1976. heehee! so that might have a wee bit to do with it. i freaked when i saw greer's name there though. heehee! i think kim would appreciate that cartoon also! im still trying to expand my own mother's horizons. she watches a bit of old movies, but only a slect few. she is getting better though. but she keeps watching the same ones over and over and over. each day she puts on Errol Flynn, or Gene Kelly, or Peter Lawford, i put on The Ballad of Josie the other day with Doris Day and she said she didnt want to watch it, so she went to make dinner, but she was listening to the movie and about five minutes later she wanted to know what happened at the end. goodness! she could at least be pstient enough to watch the whole thing first. see she does like them, but i have to plea with her on my knees! heehee!
  7. that cartoon was made in 1976. heehee! so that might have a wee bit to do with it. i freaked when i saw greer's name there though. heehee! i think kim would appreciate that cartoon also!
  8. okay ang, here's that comic strip from Hi and Lois that i told you about over the phone. they dont say anything about Gary, but i so hoped they did and i looked good and hard for his name, but they never showed it! banana oil! heehee! but guess who they do mention? ....just thorw out the fact that they mention the Duke. i know you arent too fond of that guy.heehee! 9. *Thanks for the welcome butterscotchgreer (is that as in Garson?) In addition to the movies already mentioned I must add Desire, The Wedding Night, Unconquered, Morocco and so on and so forth!* *Speaking of faves I'm still debating if I should buy High Noon for the 8th time .. since it promises a better picture of course I'll get it!* hey jordan!!! yes greer garson is my favorite actress! heehee! do you know any of her films? you like a lot of gary's great movies! of course i cant say much against any of them, b/c he is equally great in all of them. if i dont like one of his movies as much, it is because if his leading actress. oh you must buy High Noon if not many others.

  11. *Everyone will soon be asking, "who's the beautiful girl featured on your website?"* yeah right.....meanwhile im blushing! *I know for a fact that it IS haunted. It will forever be haunted by your beauty.* heehee! "twas beauty that killed the beast". im not as pretty as fay wray! the mansion isnt THAT big anyway silly. this is the outside of it. Gene Tierney?! i told you i dont mind gene. she isnt as bad as the impassive one.
  12. *It looks like you, Miss T, are elected because there is no shred of gentlemanliness, traditional or otherwise, in Mr Grimes. I know you will of course "ace" the class and put him to abject shame. At least I'm counting on you to!* i wont let you down!....or at least illl try....you know honey boy over there. honestly!
  13. Objecting is the first order of a traditional gentleman. Most especially, the objection of a pushy WOMAN. gentlemen never object to sweet and kind people. they only object to mean nasty people, such as mr, darcy does. this is one of the things that makes him gentlemanly. and we are NOT pushy!
  14. *You're most welcome! Don't you think FrankGrimes looks fetching in his apron? And look how elegantly he's learned to pour tea!* i saw that! its so shocking what you can see nowdays when you havent got a gun! heehee! now he can be our butler again! yay! he better not steal any more devil's food cakes though!
  15. *Gorgeous? Like the mansion could match your beauty.* compared to that mansion? ha! im definitely no match. i thought myself unworthy of such a chance! but i relished it prodigiously! *Wow! Sweet T is a model! It was merely a matter of time.* i dont think my modeling will go much further. heehee! but i thought it was interesting that i was supose to be modeling forthis mansion. i didnt even know it at the time when the pics were being taken. *So is the mansion haunted? I know that it is.* it is becoming a bed and breakfast, i dont think people will want to stay there if it is really haunted. i know for a fact that it isnt.i got a tour of the whole place. aawwww! how sweet. more P&P pics! im in heaven! i think ill go with thet hairstyle with the ringlets next time! heehee! that was actually my next choice if the frist choice wouldnt work. gene tierney's was next. heehee!
  16. *Since you say you are a Traditional Gentleman, Mr Grimes, I trust you are delighted to be put under obligation to me. Be sure to take copious notes.* dont worry, spril, im here if he objects!....which i highly doubt he will object anything you tell him to do. so i dont think i need to worry....on the other hand....hmm....ill still be here, but only if you want me to april. heehee!
  17. hello janus!! i agree with you on Eleanor Parker. she was also a great actress and very underrated in her time! i thought she was quite strinking in The Very Thought of You!
  18. hey chris!! how are you this loverly morning? see, thats who i thought ny friend's wife was named after when he said, "maureen". i said, "like maureen o' hara?". he said that her parents faorite actress was maureen o" sullivan though. thats okay i like her stuff too! i havent heard that nickname for maureen before. sounds cute! i always liked then ame maureen too, b/c it sounds harmonious to me. lyrical, although sounds like a great description instead!
  19. okay ill let you know when she posts them, but the pictures themselves wont be ready for at least ten days, b/c she was also working on pictures from a BIG wedding. wow! but she is really good! no i didnt have it like her in P&P, but like she had it in Random Harvest! it looks almost exactly like that, but with minor changes.i have a lot of bobby pins in my hair to keep the curls tight. and i left them in all night and boy are they irritatin, but i wanted to wear it for one more day, b/c its too pretty to take down! im definitely going back to her later in life. heehee! she was real sweet too and she asked me where i got this style for, and i told her from greer. she told me her favs when shewas a kid were veronica lake and loretta young. what are the odds? heehee!
  20. hey cinie!! wow your kid sister was named after Nat's song "lorraine"? thats so cool! i have a friend who's wife's name is Maureen. her parents named her after Maureen o' Sullivan. isnt that cute? he didnt know who she was after all thoas years of knowing that about his wife, so i had to enlighten him just a wee bit. heehee!
  21. its funny how everyone posts all the songs that grandmama and i love to hum together....."tea, for two, two for tea. me for you, and you for me." isnt that cute?! thanks jackie!
