  1. It must have gotten buried by those trashy film threads like John Ford, Pride and Prejudice, and Gone with the Wind.
  2. Are you sure you're not from the Northwest? Hold on, I couldn't hear you over Phish. What are you saying? You don't think I'm a sensitive ponytail guy, do you? I'm Northeast sure. Rick: Louis, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship Uh-huh, right. Like I'm going to trust the words of a trashy dame with a bathroom full of pirates and a bedroom full of who knows what.
  3. I don't know I've never even heard of it. Somebody started an interesting "Vertigo" thread on the board but I forget who it was. You should check it out.
  4. And which two are they? I'm not sure yet. I may watch Vertigo. Is it any good?
  5. You just murdered me with all these gloriously gorgeous Gloria Grahame photos. Death never felt better! What amazing photos! Thank you! The top one is truly killer. And look what Double G is wearing: long black gloves! The one where she is lying down looks to be from the same photo shoot. Sizzling. I love that she doesn't smile in most of her photos, by the way. A serious-looking woman is so very seductive.
  6. So which two Kim movies are you going to watch? Two that I haven't watched yet.
  7. I wouldn't know since I haven't watched the film yet. I could have made book on that answer. I have so many catchphrases. I may have to have a Kim double-feature. She's been calling me. She must have the wrong number! She does, but I sure as heck ain't gonna tell her that.
  8. Well we KNEW you'd pick that one. Who's "we"? Don't tell me you have a pretend doll, too. I bet you were thinking that's the real reason Frankie fought with his wife, so he could move downstairs to that little room with "Molly-O". And actors. I still think The Man with the Golden Arm may be Frank's most impressive performance. I wouldn't know since I haven't watched the film yet. But those are lovely. The scenes in the room between them are my favorite in the movie, and I think Kim gives a nice, natural performance. Foster Hirsch said Frank and Otto worked hard with her and were very patient so she could do her best. He also said that Otto thought the studio hadn't used Kim's real talent in most of the roles they assigned to her. Otto may have had his "ways", but he certainly understood how to get the best out of actresses. You're full of wonderful info today. I had grown used to you just being full of snip. What a refreshing change! I may have to have a Kim double-feature. She's been calling me.
  9. Bonjour, Super Model -- are you kissing up to us when you just said you havent done anything? No! I'm innocent, meaning I'm guilty. I've been accused of not doing things for quite some time. this brings suspicion to my knowledge. heehee! What knowledge? That's what I'm suspicious of. Bonjour, Missy G -- Oh, what a sweet picture! Here's a sweet picture of Kim undressing. The Sinatra box sets come out on DVD this Tuesday. I may flinch and get the one with Some Came Running.
  10. im proud of our frankie. heehee! of course i cant say the same for the other frankie we both know on here. hmmmmm. What the heck did I do?
  11. That's my favorite, too. She looks incredible. But doesn't she always, Afternoon Delight.
  12. I treated myself to a 'double-bill' of 'Diary of a Lost Girl' and 'Pandora's Box' the other day (I was having a Weimar moment), Welcome to the board, Nando!
  13. Ahhhhhhh, an afternoon delight! I really love the photo of Ava sitting in the boat with her mussed-up hair.
  14. Now if you can just grow your hair out to ponytail length, put your unread books in a bag with Che Guavara's picture on it and tell me over a meal how much you like, 'get' women and how in tune you are with them, we'll get on famously. Phish or something should be playing in the background. Sounds lovely. I don't "get" women, so we shall get along infamously.
  15. Ciao, SoKyle -- After a terribly weak poster selection for Thursday, you have rebounded nicely. I'm with Nando, I also like the poster for Now, Voyager. And props to Joe and Minya for pointing out the similarities between the Sweet Bird of Youth and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof posters. Howdy, Annie Laurie Starr -- Mr. Grimes will be ever so excited when he sees this!!!! I just came from the book store. I got a couple "Beats." Impressed? What? No, I haven't read them. That's not the point. You are supposed to be impressed that I'm carrying them around. That should be good enough.
  16. I was quoting you -- the words in bold are yours -- and then replying to your quote. Don't worry, I read your words.
  17. Hey, Film Lover -- As to Kino, there are some excellent prices in that deepdiscount.com sale. It looks like they will end it just before their regular June sale begins. I wonder which will price will be lower? Peter Warne is correct, the 50% off sale that runs through this month is the better deal. I believe Kino titles are usually around 30% off their list price at Deep Discount. If you add 20% off to that, you get 50%, right? Wrong. You won't be getting an additional 20% off the list price in June, it's 20% off the discounted price, so you're looking at around 45% off. For example, The Art of Buster Keaton usually goes for $140.97 at Deep Discount. At that price, it will go for $112.78 in June but it's $99.98 with the current sale. You will basically save a few bucks with the lower-priced DVDs but you can really save some money with the boxes. By the way, I don't know if you saw it in the Upcoming Releases information, but Kino is going to start releasing on Blu-ray high def this fall. I did catch the post on that thread. I haven't posted much in this forum of late but I do check it all the time. I'm a serious prowler when it comes to upcoming DVD release info. I thank everyone who takes the time to post this info. I'm not ready to start dishing out dollars for Blu-ray just yet. Actually, it may be a long time before I do since I enjoy black-and-white film the most. I'm not big on video equipment and such.
  18. Champoo Floozy! I just love it when a name rings true.
  19. Hey, FilmLover -- Thanks for posting that. I was wondering how long the Kino discount lasted because I'm going to get the Glamour Girls box. The DVDs in that box set normally sell for more than the entire box is going for right now, which is $24.98. The German Expressionism box is going for $34.98 but I can't dump all my cash at once. I love your challenge schedules, by the way.
  20. Certain foods do, Oh, do tell. but alas, not meat and potatoes. So yes you are. Mmmmm, hmmmm. Don't I know it.
  21. I thought they were both scurryin' off to the john after all that chowin'. If food serves as an aphrodisiac, then I'm in serious trouble. Sweet dreams. Oooooohhh, now I could go for some of those. Candy dreams to you, B.
  22. So yummy! So yummy-yummy! I'm taking Mom out for Mother's Day. Stay tuned on Monday for new gastrointestinal revelations. Uh-oh. Bronxie's mom on her day... this should be interesting.
  23. This is for you Bronxie and for Miss Gelato and Miss Mint Ice Cream: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R9PqjMSNfkU&feature=related
  24. That all makes sense to me. I guess we both need to see a shrink. I'll buy you a moose milk shake on the way.
  25. I'll save you the embarrassment of a reply and go to bed now. You're such a tease! I gotta hear what's up with your Gumby love. I can't, that's why I need to make an appointment with a psychiatrist. It can't be that bad. Gumby ain't Scottish.
