how could i not have seen Laura? goodness me. heehee! I meant, have you seen the girl, "Laura"? I'm looking for her. She's supposedly dead, too. you an impostor? thats what im afraid of! heehee! This April you speak of is a ghost, too. How many times must I remind you of this? i have no idea what you are talking about. heehee! april is a really person, and a sweet one at that! all in favor say "i". too late honey boy dutchman, my vote counts more times than yours does. heehee! You little cheater! How indecorous of you. The words "April" and "sweet" don't seem to go together. "Sweet" and "Theresa" do, though.

you cry for everything dont you frankie? heehee! Only when mean girls hurt me or when sweet angels like Louise are wronged. She's married to him! Don't you believe in the sanctity of marriage? yes i do! but louise wasnt a good parent OR a good wife, she only wanted his money for crying out loud! But Paul knew this when he married her. Louise definitely cared about Paul because she didn't run away from him. She stuck around like a real woman would. I think you smacked him over the head with your keyboard little ol' me? why i would never do such a thing!...especially to smithy poor darling. everyone loves smithy. That's how Smithy can get away with being a serial killer; everyone loves him. Your make-believe doll wouldn't have any honey. She's sourpatch you might be surprise, she has some left over in her cupboard from our tea party I would be surprised if she had any honey in her dollhouse cupboard. Poison is her favorite spice. -

That's your excuse for everything. The reason Smithy doesn't remember anything is because of your internet connection. Mary Rafferty is a homewrecker because of your internet connection. Well, let's just say that I didn't watch Pride and Prejudice yet because of your internet connection. that was a big ouchy! first of all mary rafferty was NEVER a home-wrecker! i just watched it last night and my hanky is still airing out. heehee! The reason you were crying is because Mary ripped the heart out of Paul and then she had the nerve to ruin his loving marriage to sweet Louise. I'm starting to cry myself. louise neede to be thrown out, but sweet and charming mr. paul was too gallant to do any sort of thing like that! She's married to him! Don't you believe in the sanctity of marriage? Smithy didnt remember anything because he bumped his head, poor baby, not because of my internet connection....the internet wasnt even around back then! heehee! I think you smacked him over the head with your keyboard. you better not have just used that excuse for pride and prejudice too! here comes the honey! april get anothet bucket of honey and help me dunk it over his head! Your make-believe doll wouldn't have any honey. She's sourpatch. -

Hey, Triple H -- Mogambo, Boom Town, China Seas, Wife vs Secretary are the ones I want to see on the set - have you seen these? I have only seen Mogambo. Mrs. Gable and ButterscotchGable have probably seen all of them. The sweet one likes the trashy romance films but the sour one has a broader reach. Please just HHH or Game is a-ok by the way Are you sure you don't want to don that sweater again? No problem. Hi, Laffite -- The pictures of Ava in Mogambo are almost breathtaking. It's just a shame that the print isn't better. Like The Quiet Man DVD, the picture quality is on the "hazy" side. It's terribly disappointing. I haven't seen the movie but from those pictures it appears that Ava could upstage Grace in a trice. It doesn't help either that Grace was the ice princess versus the down-to-earth sexuality of Ava. I'll have to look for this one when it comes up again on TCM. Ava, wow! Ava upstages Grace but I say this based on the characters they play. I think Grace does a good job as the frosty "Linda Nordley." Hiya, Trashy Film Fan -- i didnt mind grace's charater as francie as much here, but she was weird to me, who would even want to give up their love to the cops. honestly. she so thought that john was the robber, and she wouldnt believe that he was innocent. i just wanted to take her aside and give her a few words! Francie is just a stubbornly foolish blonde, that's all. She just needs to be shown the way. Ciao, Honey B -- You know, I seriously considered "retiring" my monicker (MissGoddess) when I hit the 10,000 mark and coming back in under a new name. It was going to be, of course, HoneyBearKelly. That would have been terrible! There's no more perfect screen name than "Miss Goddess." Okay, Persnippety, the goddess of snippiness, is slightly better. I never looked at that shot of Honey Bear and Mrs Nordley in quite that way before....very interesting. Besides the obvious, I also like how YOUR "Honey Bear" is "naked" and Linda is covered by a table. She's an honest woman whereas Linda is not. The irony is that "Honey Bear" tries and tries to lie to herself about her feelings for Vic. She fights her heart out of fear of being hurt. Great shots from my #1 favorite Hitchcock movie. Is it just me or why do I think Grace never looked better than when her hair got all tousled from...ummm, Cary. Well, you know that I like girls with relaxed hair, and mussed hair is even better. it's always so smooth and perfect it drives me a little nuts. I just love Grace's hair. It always looks so natural to me. Not like Ava, at all, her hair was always mussed. I like Ava's hair, too. She definitely knew how to kick her feet up and relax. As "Maxine Faulk" she had two "hairdressers". So how many hairdressers do you have?

Howdy, ButtersneakGRACE -- if youre dead, how do you find yourself typing these words, clearly you arent dead..... Am I dead? Maybe I'm an impostor. Have you seen Laura? or you could have come back to haunt me and april. oh no! this means we cant kill you again! APRIL!!!!!! Where are you?! This April you speak of is a ghost, too. How many times must I remind you of this?

GWTW Named All Time Favorite in Poll
FrankGrimes replied to MissGoddess's topic in Films and Filmmakers
Not that I like rubbing it in....BUT I DO!!! What, the poison? I guess a lot of men really love "Gone with the Wind." The Second Favorite Book among Different Groups While The Bible is number one among each of the different demographic groups, there is a large difference in the number two favorite book. For men, that belongs to Lord of the Rings while women cite Gone with the Wind as their number two. There is also a generational divide. For Echo Boomers (those aged 18-31) their second favorite is the Harry Potter series while Generation X (those aged 32-43) is split between The Stand and Angels and Demons. Baby Boomers (those aged 44-62) and Matures (those aged 63 and older) think alike and both cite Gone with the Wind. While it?s not surprising that Gone with the Wind is the second favorite book in the South, it?s also number two in the Midwest. Easterners are more partial to the Lord of the Rings series and Westerners cite The Stand as their second favorite book. Whites and Hispanics also say Gone with the Wind is their second favorite while African Americans say it is Angels and Demons. Educational levels have the largest differences. Those with high school or less education cite Gone with the Wind as their second favorite book of all time while Americans with some college education say it is The Stand. College graduates go to Lord of the Rings and those with a post graduate education are tied as both Lord of the Rings and To Kill a Mockingbird come in number two for them. Finally, they may not agree on candidates, but one thing that brings together partisans is their favorite book. For Republicans, Democrats and Independents, the top two books are the same ? The Bible followed by Gone with the Wind. -

And who said Darcy and Miss Bennett were killed! Ohhh, nobody. You're spoiled! That's besides the point. You were busy rolling in the dirt with Genie-beanie, not locked out in the cold. Shockingly, I was treated with great loving care earlier in the evening by some lass with class. But then later on, I was told to expect a little fun. I was all happy, full of great expectation, but... -
No I didn't . At least you are honest. I respect that. I watched about 20 minutes and the print didn't look that good to me that they showed. Sigh. Gagman said the recent TCM airing (this past Sunday) featured a very good print. He thought it was the best print of the film he has seen. I actually lost interest after about the first five minutes Five minutes?! You're such a patient film-watcher. I really don't see how you would lose interest at the five-minute mark because this is what you see...

Good Day, Bronxie -- I've often wondered if blondes have more fun. They do. It's just those who are around them don't. I'm just not the blonde type I understand. Not everyone can be snippy. What exactly is that carnival trick that allows Molly to get "zapped" by electricity? Can you or someone explain it to me? I'll have to check that out again. Frank, does the smell of alcohol make you break out in a sweat, or is it only me? It does, but not the way you believe. I'm boringly dry. Be careful, I'm a crotchety Baby Boomer who misses her old Selectric typewriter, a world without cell phones, and Officer Joe Bolton introducing The Three Stooges. I don't miss the typewriter days, but I've never been big on cell phones and I can watch the Stooges most anytime. Guten Tag, Honey Bear -- Mr Grimes, did you spy on Mr Darcy and Miss Bennett at the ball? I didn't kill them! Howdy, Cajun Cook -- So do you really think I'm under y'all's spell? I don't seem to know where Hadleyville is. Do you know where it's at? I also haven't found my way to a Maryton ball. yes i know this for a fact! Is that so? maryton ball? how would you know what it is called unless you have seen it? (gasps) Keep gasping because I haven't seen Pride and Prejudice. I was going to watch it last night but someone locked the door on me again and I nearly froze to death. I cried icicles. -

FrankGrimes replied to hlywdkjk's topic in Remembering Kyle in Hollywood
You're not suggesting that one of your femme fatale's would tear her own top to get her way, would you? Ohhh, no, of course not. A femme fatale would never think of doing such a thing. They are always square. Surely you meant to put that blame on poor Jon Dall. Pure empathy. What would your harem of noir babes say if they thought you were blaming them? They'd think it's a typical day. -

Gun Crazy! That's one of the best posters you have posted to date, Kyle. You've got an interesting sense of timing, too. Peggy seems to have torn her top in that poster. -
Hey what are you doing in here?! This is the film noir forum, right? J-Girl told me it was, so I believed her. I know Sunrise is supposed to be good, Supposed to be good?! It IS great! but I just couldn't get into it. Now did you watch the entire film? Come clean.

Hey, Hunter Hearst Helmsley -- Think I will be watching Mogombo soon - if you mean the Clark Gable movie or is it Magambo ? That's the one. It's a very interesting triangle film. The sexual subtext is thick. Hiya, AvaG -- absolutly, i agree that was the point of her character and she did it very well. didnt dislike her just found her hard to listen to after awhile the kind of girl u knew meant well but was hard to keep hearing Linda Nordley is definitely an ice princess. Grace is the perfect actress for such a role. yes i really liked her in To Catch A Theif! I loved how she kept coaxing Cary on and on and on..it was great..fun to watch them.... That's why I love Francie so. She's playfully devilish but it's all because she likes "The Cat." thanks for the pics again Frank! You're welcome!

that sounds like a plan to me! im surely the honey dutchman wouldnt mind....would you? Would I mind shelling out over $200 to see Tobacco Road? Yes, I mind! and then there will be people all over the world who will be under our spell, so we an rule the world! muwahaha! heehee! So do you really think I'm under y'all's spell? I don't seem to know where Hadleyville is. Do you know where it's at? I also haven't found my way to a Maryton ball. -

i looove those pics..my honey bear...lol....she was sooo sassy in that movie "Honey Bear" is one of my favorite characters in film. You're right, she's very sassy... on the outside. On the inside, she's looking for love. She's got a lip, but it's a jealous, wanting lip. as much as i really do love Grace Kelly god was she beautiful...she so ANNOYED me in her role in Magambo...i felt like Ava did about her...i was constantly rolling my eyes as Ava did in the movie when she spoke....lol...very annoying I think that's the point of Grace's character, "Linda Nordley." Linda is a dignified, icy married woman who starts to melt thanks to Vic and the environment. I definitely prefer Honey Bear to Linda but I don't dislike Linda. but greeeeeat movie no dought...i loved it...wish i was watching it right now..lol...dont own it yet that will be the next i will get from TCM.... I'm a Mogambo fan. I enjoy the fireworks. scinse were talking about Grace i just want to say my fav movie with her i think is To Catch A Theif with my number 1 man Cary Grant! Wow...the 2 of them together...made for some Steeeeamy scenes.. Speaking of fireworks... I love Francie. I simply adore her.

Ciao, Kyller Kyle -- So, which one of ya is standing over FrankGrimes body? I'd like to remove it. It's drawing flies - and a crowd. Traffic here is bad enough. If the girl holding the gun is the guilty party, I'd say that's Butterscotch. But I'm wondering if she's a patsy. Sweet T has been known to fall under the spell of bad influences. I am still curious as to who pulled the trigger on FG. And if he really is "pushing daisies"or if he just got "clipped". If he's still around, I hope he doesn't try to finger me. I'm just the bag boy. You're never up to any good, but I wouldn't suspect you as a killer. Conversely, there are others around here who are quite deadly. Hola, Murderess -- He draws flies regardless. He won't be totally out until I post the screencaps of Gene Tierney in Tobacco Road. I thought skipping a few showers would turn Ellie May on. Plant 'em and read over 'em, plant 'em and read over 'em... Somebody is in a hurry to move on.

Ooohhhh! Those shots of Gene on that tree are deliciously dirty. I love her poses. And I hate to say it, but I like Ellie May dirty more so than clean. What's funny is that I thought her running through the water was going to be her bath. -
Hi, Ava G! -- i love those pics of my girl..i hate to say i never saw Whistle Stop.... Whistle Stop is a rather ordinary film but Ava is quite sexy in the film. and thats cool her and Gloria did a movie together, awesome i would love to see them together! I've never seen Blonde Fever but I'd love to see it because of Gloria. It's her first film. She was just 20-years-old. Ava supposedly doesn't have that big of a role. Hume Cronyn and Jessica Tandy are also in the film as what looks to be extras. I love this shot by John Ford. It says so much about each character yet, at the same time, it doesn't. Looks can be deceiving.

Tobacco Road is actually the primary reason why I have not bought the Ford at Fox silents box. I don't want to spend money on the smaller boxes if I'm going to get the mama. You weren't lyin' about Gene bein' dirty. She needs a good scrubbin' and I've got a scrub brush. -

he quit his day job as a Gotham detective and followed his favorite murder victim down home to meet her folks. Somehow, they weren't exactly like he figured: Somebody's funny tonight. The Tierney-Andrews magic is born.
