  1. Bravo! Bravo! That killed me. I'm from the "bend down a little" side of the table.
  2. I did not know you were such a connossieur of classical music. Neither did I. I did visit Rimini once, to attend a music festival. Lucky you! I have been advised to visit Hades a few times over the past few months.
  3. A good dee do a dee do die day to you, Whistlin' G -- I agree with you about the film Slattery's Hurricane. The film description and the lobby cards make this a film that I really want to see. The film seems to have noir elements and, as you mentioned, Linda Darnell and Veronica Lake. I know of the film only due to my checking over Linda's filmography. I didn't realize Veronica was in the picture. Now I'm very curious to see it. I think that I add this title under suggested films for TCM to air. It's a Fox film, so the odds of TCM airing it are very slim. It figures that two of my very favorite actresses are Fox beauties, Linda Darnell and Gene Tierney. And you posted posters and cards that feature them. The Night and the City poster is terrific. Many thanks.
  4. Howdy, Lynn, dear! --I see that Kyle is torturing you again this year. I know I should feel bad but I responded last evening to your inquiry in the Western forum in our Searchers thread and have waited patiently all day for you to respond in kind. I did see what you wrote and I will reply to you. The thread took off on me yesterday and I didn't want to interrupt it. I loved that Jackie woke up in the middle of the night thinking about The Searchers. She's quite a lass. She also made some interesting observations. I have found Missy G's book anecdotes to be fascinating. She's very good at relaying information from books among many, many other things. And I have finished watching the film again, so now I can post a little more. So I guess what I'm trying to tell you is that I'm very aware of what you wrote, I have not forgotten about you, and I shall return. Hiya, Girl with the Gorgeous Name ( ) -- You're not going to "strangle" me, are ya? Yes, I learned not to be so complaisant next time. The real torture will come with tunes from musicals, knowing how much you really love them. lol There will be howls of pain with every beat of the "happy" songs. Maybe small doses of electric shock at your feet will make you learn a few steps while at it. You learn both slow and fast. Keep me away from ButtersourCELINE. Blech! She's been trying to neuter me for months now with Greer Garson. I haven't done one thing to her, either. I'm only guilty of telling her how lovely she is. Hola, ButtersourCELINE -- now what did we talk about when calling sweet innocent april a floozy? heehee! Whoever this sweet innocent April is, I sure as heck don't know her. You constantly bring this imaginary girl's name up, too. Have you bumped your head again, Mrs. Smithy? I'm thinking another stay at the institute would serve you well. i love the claire trevor and duke pic! so romantic! somehow i could just picture mr. frankie with her....maybe thats not so hard. I like Dallas! She's a lovely, misunderstood dame. She would be easy to get along with. I LOVED the Gloria Grahame pic! She looks so very sweet and innocent in that photo. Kind of like your imaginary friend. I really liked the left-hand pic of Marlene. She's super-soft in that photo. And the photo of Maureen in the sequined dress is one of my favorites of her. Thanks for posting those! Bonjour, Miss Goddess -- I'll take that as a compliment---since it puts me in such good company. You take everything as a compliment, right, Snippy Squaw? :p I like the company you keep.
  5. Bonjour, Mademoiselle D?ese -- Go to the devil...please! Tchaikovsky's Francesca da Rimini? So did you know there were two reasons why I chose that particular Tchaikovsky piece, Miss Whosits? The first was because it's a piece about banishment to Hell. The second is because it's the primary theme to...
  6. MEEEE? i jinxed you! goodness me what did i say to deserve such treachery? heehee! I'm just looking for a scapegoat. If they win tonight, you'll be my pride and joy. But if they lose... thank you frankiefurter darlin'. i might feel a little chatty, you know me! Yes, you chat a lot. Me, on the other, I'm the weak, silent type. congrats to sweet april too, sheis almost to 10,000 posts!!! we shall throw a paradein herhomor and have a tea party afterwards with the penguins!! heehee! Who are we throwing a parade for? Au revoir!
  7. You just jinxed us! And now I must flee, but I shall return later this afternoon. In case you are chattery before I get back, congrats on 3000 posts, Sweet T! The Jabberin' Floozy is coming up on an ever bigger mark.
  8. Ahhhhhhhh, now that's good torture! Thank you! Have you learned anything from all of your evil experiments, J-Girl?
  9. Hey, CCBaxter -- Stately Wayne Manor! Holy Homestead! Love it, Frank! You made me laugh with "Holy Homestead!" Perfect. What's up, Laffite -- Well, if Grace isn't included, you at least have a view. I'd say! Here's my current residence:
  10. Nice thread, Poinciana! John Robie's villa in To Catch a Thief May I please include my Francie? Leave Her to Heaven I won't invite my brother. I'd love to visit this place from Fallen Angel: I better have a lot of tip money. But my place would be this: I love kittens.
  11. Very greedy. I bet I go through a bottle of honey a week! And that's just to sweeten my tea! Floozy!
  12. A Hitch Good Evening to you, Kyle -- "I'm giddy... and vulnerable to shenanigans." Vulnerable? Brow-beaten, maybe. But never "vulnerable". Brow-beaten to be sure and you may also be correct about me not being vulnerable, too. There's a lot of softening up going on around here and that has me fearing the blade. By the way, ButterscotchPsycho's favorite Hitch film is Psycho. She loves how Smithy stabs Janet Leigh in the shower. Right about now I'm willing to bet you'd "pull my finger" if asked. Gladly! Hi, Minya -- You made me laugh out loud. At least you haven't lost your Hitchcockian humor.
  13. That was just a taste of honey. I thought a taste of honey goes a long way with you. Don't tell me you're a greedy girl.
  14. wanna smell my boutonniere? Why soitanly! A Hitch night on April Fool's Day means I'm giddy... and vulnerable to shenanigans.
  15. Well, the stakes are high---I laid blonde, brunette and red face cards on the table. What have you got to offer? I do like how you play. Why don't you just take that "honey" that Coopsy's Clarita just blinded my eyes with. I'm sure that's plenty, right?
  16. Awwwwwwwww! :x There must an April Fool's joke in here somewhere. But I don't care.
  17. It may be torture to some but it's honey to me. :x I think a deal can be arranged.
  18. Wow! I'm in heaven! I'm afraid to interrupt such a lovely run of gorgeous women. You have posted almost all of my favorites and then some! Ohhhh how I love green-eyed gals. Thank you, Missy G!
  19. Now this is EXACTLY what I'd expect to see in a thread like this.
  20. Good Evening, Whistlin' G -- I hope these will take some of the sting out of all the love that has been flying past you this morning. Ahhhhhh, yes. Those posters are very soothing to me. There's only so much Pride and Prejudice a guy can take. Thank you for posting those. I love classic film posters. I?ve seen all of these titles but the Peter Lorre film, Stranger on the Third Floor, and I think that The Strange Loves of Martha Ivers is my favorite. . .or maybe my favorite is Night and the City. I suppose that I could watch them again and then decide? Of the posters you posted, I've only seen The Strange Love of Martha Ivers. I have Night and the City on DVD and have Stranger on the Third Floor and Nora Prentiss on VHS thanks to TCM. I'm very intrigued by Night has a Thousand Eyes. Eddie G's films noir always interest me.
  21. Judy Garland?! Ugh. If you're not going to shoot me, I'm gonna provoke Diana to kill me with her garter gun. yup!i have every movie she made! literally. heehee! Goodness. You really need to start watching some film noir, horror films, No Country for Old Men, and There Will Be Blood. now wow would we shoot you? honestly frankie darlin', that takes all the fun out of it. heehee! Fun for you, but not for me. I think it's your skirt that's on fire, Gardenia Girl. oh is that why i feel a little warm? heehee! i think my skirt twirled and caught your pants on fire! so there! now they are smoking. Are you saying I'm wearing hot pants? guess what im listening to right now on youtube......one of our favs Now that brought a smile to my face. ooh do you like peter cetera frankie? this is one of my fav 80s songs. its the karate kid song. I can handle that one. But you know what song I want to hear: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sxf6Xd75yUo so here's your hi-yah for the day. HI-YAH! heehee! Owwwwwww! That felt good! I have to skedaddle now. Have a terrific rest of the day!
  22. hey thats not fair!!! you just have to watch pride and prejudice once first and then you can decide if you still want to be burned by the boiling chocolate..... thats like a privilege for you all the sudden. Oh, that makes sense. "Here, eat this poison once first and then decide if you like it or not."
  23. Hi, Posi Kim -- I'm completely with you on Eddie Muller making a TCM appearance. I'd love to see film noir get a weekly spotlight on TCM. It's nice to know there are some girls on this board with fine taste in film. Hey, Miss Awful Taste in Film -- this is it kyle?! goodness, i came in here expecting to see frankie dangling from the ceiling wrapped up in rope or something. heehee! you know, the whole inchilada sipped in boiling chocolate....too much of it frankie, and youll be sick pretty soon. The second I begin to watch Pride and Prejudice I'm gonna wish I was dangling from the ceiling wrapped up in rope or licorice just "dying" to be dunked in boiling hot chocolate. I feel like Batman all of a sudden.
  24. well im not so much a fan of liza as i am of mischa so he makes up for it, although i love her version of "Cabaret". heehee! im more of a judy garland fan. Judy Garland?! Ugh. If you're not going to shoot me, I'm gonna provoke Diana to kill me with her garter gun. your pants are smoking by the way frankie. heehee! I think it's your skirt that's on fire, Gardenia Girl.
