  1. Hey, CCBaxter -- Stately Wayne Manor! Holy Homestead! Love it, Frank!

:D You made me laugh with "Holy Homestead!" Perfect.

What's up, Laffite -- Well, if Grace isn't included, you at least have a view.

    I'd say!

  2. Hiya, Different Diana -- For me, the 'ugliness' is what makes this film work. It's believable. Hitch's casting of the principals in Frenzy is brilliant -- the majority of the actors are unknown to American audiences, and they all look like 'real' vs 'reel' people. That's what helped draw me into the film and made it much easier to suspend disbelief.

You're a queer duck, Diana. That's one of the many reasons why I like you. You are in the minority in liking the "ugly" of Frenzy, most especially as a woman. Frenzy was actually one of the first Hitch films I ever watched and I loved it. It was in my top 5 Hitch films for the longest time but it has slowly dropped on my list as my appreciation for films like To Catch a Thief and Notorious has risen dramatically. It still ranks in my top 15 for Hitch (#13).

One thing makes me laugh whenever I watch Frenzy -- I find myself on pins and needles as the killer searches for his pin. Will he find it before he gets caught? Cracks me up every time as I realize I'm worried about a killer getting away with murder.

I love your usage of the word "cracks." Exquisitely done. That's part of the "gruesome" humor I mentioned in my prior post. I also laugh and root for the killer to find that pin.

  4. A Hitch Good Evening to you, Kyle -- "I'm giddy... and vulnerable to shenanigans."

Vulnerable? Brow-beaten, maybe. But never "vulnerable".

Brow-beaten to be sure and you may also be correct about me not being vulnerable, too. There's a lot of softening up going on around here and that has me fearing the blade.

By the way, ButterscotchPsycho's favorite Hitch film is Psycho. She loves how Smithy stabs Janet Leigh in the shower.

Right about now I'm willing to bet you'd "pull my finger" if asked.

    Gladly!

Hi, Minya -- You made me laugh out loud. At least you haven't lost your Hitchcockian humor. ;)

  5. Good Evening, Whistlin' G -- I hope these will take some of the sting out of all the love that has been flying past you this morning.

Ahhhhhh, yes. Those posters are very soothing to me. There's only so much Pride and Prejudice a guy can take. :D Thank you for posting those. I love classic film posters.

I?ve seen all of these titles but the Peter Lorre film, Stranger on the Third Floor, and I think that The Strange Loves of Martha Ivers is my favorite. . .or maybe my favorite is Night and the City. I suppose that I could watch them again and then decide?

Of the posters you posted, I've only seen The Strange Love of Martha Ivers. I have Night and the City on DVD and have Stranger on the Third Floor and Nora Prentiss on VHS thanks to TCM.

I'm very intrigued by Night has a Thousand Eyes. Eddie G's films noir always interest me.

  6. Judy Garland?! Ugh. If you're not going to shoot me, I'm gonna provoke Diana to kill me with her garter gun.

yup!i have every movie she made! literally. heehee!

Goodness. You really need to start watching some film noir, horror films, No Country for Old Men, and There Will Be Blood.

now wow would we shoot you? honestly frankie darlin', that takes all the fun out of it. heehee!

Fun for you, but not for me.

I think it's your skirt that's on fire, Gardenia Girl.

oh is that why i feel a little warm? heehee! i think my skirt twirled and caught your pants on fire! so there! now they are smoking.

Are you saying I'm wearing hot pants?

guess what im listening to right now on youtube......one of our favs

Now that brought a smile to my face.

ooh do you like peter cetera frankie? this is one of my fav 80s songs. its the karate kid song.

I can handle that one. But you know what song I want to hear:

so here's your hi-yah for the day. HI-YAH! heehee!

Owwwwwww! That felt good! I have to skedaddle now. Have a terrific rest of the day!

  7. hey thats not fair!!! you just have to watch pride and prejudice once first and then you can decide if you still want to be burned by the boiling chocolate..... thats like a privilege for you all the sudden.

Oh, that makes sense. "Here, eat this poison once first and then decide if you like it or not."

  8. Hi, Posi Kim -- I'm completely with you on Eddie Muller making a TCM appearance. I'd love to see film noir get a weekly spotlight on TCM.

It's nice to know there are some girls on this board with fine taste in film.

Hey, Miss Awful Taste in Film -- this is it kyle?! goodness, i came in here expecting to see frankie dangling from the ceiling wrapped up in rope or something. heehee! you know, the whole inchilada sipped in boiling chocolate....too much of it frankie, and youll be sick pretty soon.

The second I begin to watch Pride and Prejudice I'm gonna wish I was dangling from the ceiling wrapped up in rope or licorice just "dying" to be dunked in boiling hot chocolate. I feel like Batman all of a sudden.

  9. well im not so much a fan of liza as i am of mischa so he makes up for it, although i love her version of "Cabaret". heehee! im more of a judy garland fan.

Judy Garland?! Ugh. If you're not going to shoot me, I'm gonna provoke Diana to kill me with her garter gun.

your pants are smoking by the way frankie. heehee!

I think it's your skirt that's on fire, Gardenia Girl.

  10. That's "Who Killed CockRobin?" (gotta compound that name), right? Can't recall the film though.

Nicely done! Go ahead and Google the short to find out the film.

Now, in what movie does Duck Dodgers In the 24 1/2 Century appear?

    That, I do not know.

Are you gonna reveal the first film and Disney short?
