What is the name of the movie where Power goes back in time, I think to the French or English court?

For years I have been trying to find the title of a movie I saw when I was a kid. The plot is .. a young boy becomes a major league pitcher when he gets a bump on his arm that allows him to throw a baseball at tremendous speed. It was a black & white movie, probably came out in the late fifties. Any ideas?
