  1. You're not doing too many, but it's great that you're being mindful of that; too bad others aren't. Thank you.
  2. I vehemently disagree. I say &&&&&&&&& and a pox on everything else.
  3. No ma'am, I have seen some of John Ford's films: "The Informer" "The HUrricane" "Stagecoach" "How Green Was My Valley" "Sgt. Rutledge" "Mogambo" "My Darling Clementine." But it's been years since I've seen many of them, and I don't have them on tape. Uhhh...the dog ate my homework?? Message was edited by: CineMaven--Gee, it worked for Eddie Haskell.
  4. lzcutter, kudoes to you for conducting this summer school class and all the participants for their views. I really have to sit out John Ford, but sincerely hope to participate in the next class. so THIS is what a classic film thread reads like. Nice job!
  5. Great list. But Richard Jaeckel was about 4'11". I love today's Simon Baker. He was in a movie starring Sanaa Lathan called "SOMETHING NEW." He's an Aussie and handsome (he also was in "L.A. Confidential.") A gorgeous blonde.
  6. Wasn't that "The L Word" actress Karina Lombard??
  7. 5,438 pages back??? That must be in the Old Testament TCM Message Board. Besides..."imitation is the sincerest form of flattery."
  8. After a week's work, it's Friday nite. I just got paid. I ought go out drinking and dancing with friends. But naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. This poster clinched it. Let me catch up with "In A Lonely Place" and see if I can post my thoughts. (Yeah, I can see you're waiting with baited breath for "my" comments). Looking at the poster makes me think of what inspired casting that was: Bogey and Grahame. And glancing at her filmography she worked with some heavy-hitting male co-stars, among them: Kirk Douglas, Robert Mitchum, Jack Palance, Lee Marvin, Glenn Ford and Robert Ryan. These are no **** waist pretty boys. I don't even know if Gable could've dealt with her. He would've tried to give her a wink and charm her. She might've slapped him or burn him with a cigarette. It takes a tough guy to deal with the Double G. (Her characters might've been a little worse for wear becuz of it). Yep, I know what I'll be doing tonite.
  9. Post a picture...lemme see.
  10. Would you please post a photo of your knee on the loo-a-likes thread?
  11. "...how they do that?" With ingenuity, brainpower and creativity. Not this push-button CGI stuff. Bleeech!
  12. Frank, Molo: That picture below of Gloria is very very...well, very. I'd say with the cigarette in hand, it was "after" the fact...but since everyone smoked in the 50's... Great picture. I look forward to talking to you guys about "IN A LONELY PLACE." Look at the picture...that doesn't inspire you?
  13. Tell me, which one of our forefathers was **** before the Constitution was signed??
  14. No fighting??? I can change that right now.
  15. Frank: "But I'm reactive, not proactive." Oh no, Mother of Mercy. That means we won't see your musings for months.
  16. How about the preternaturally beautiful Elizabeth Taylor, the little girl who (I believe) dies of pneumonia by staying out in the rain. Gosh she was beautiful.
  17. Your righteousnes is safe tobitz. You're not commenting on the shenanigans going on here. You've just proven to me that Gloria can bring anyone out; even on a wacky thread.
  18. Let's see the motley crue of "Oceans 11, 12, 13, 23" top this group. Great shot:
  19. I would go with him: But I really feel like this: And whose to say what's under Rickles' tux. Remember J. Edgar Hoover...
