SCSU: Lana, Jean, Bernadette ... hmm ... geez, Lana almost looks like Monroe in this pic:" You are EXCELLENT. I have always thought that Bernadette Peters reminded me of Lana Turner. So, I'm not crazy!
-
BG: "I wonder why a grandfather clock and two women dressed in 19th century or early 20th century clothing (Edwardian) terrifies me so much." Could be the legend of Lizzie Borden. Kind of scary and repressed looking ladies and the anger they've been eating with being subjugated to second-class citizens. When it's unleashed...well let's just say hell hath no fury... As for "Unlocked Window"...chicken!!! Heeere goes...

Nighty nite B.G.: "And unlike Ginger, it looks like Hillary won't even get a chance to do everything the big boys do, only backwards. Nite-nite!" Funny and true. In the end, I was thinking she wasn't quite playing fair.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zT97E6NjGzM&NR=1 Love the athleticism of Gene Kelly, but I can't get away from the elegance of Fred & Ginger. SCSU, why are you always right on time? Kirk looks good to me. And I thank you for that shot.
-
Now you're talking! Ginger looked very endearing with her hair loose and slacks keeping up with Fred. I take this as a compliment.
-
Hi Metsie: "How did you know?! Was it by the clues or the picture alone?" Keel helped...but it was the nose. Grayson had the most distinctive nose in Hollywood, wouldn't you agree? Movielover: Who is Kathryn Grayson??? Never heard of her... You're pulling my leg. Go to bed. You should be dreaming of Brando by now.
-
Okay, Stanley Kowalski is formidable...but I'm lovin' me some Spartacus too. ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzz.
-
Who stole the kishka??? Frank, you certainly have your work cut out for you. Hope you have lots of pots and pans.
-
Yo yo yo Movielover...you might have to use your imagination. But if you can't conjure up sweet lusty dreams from that close-up picture of Brando, with the hairy chest...I dunno!! Oh and the picture of Kirk with his pants so high, back in the day, showing the human navel was verboten. But I wouldn't kick Kirk out of bed!
-
No worries, SCSU. No worries.
-
What a name to pick out of a hat. ;-)
-
Frances Dee. Now you're talking Bronxgirl! Just reading her name makes me smile. Thank you!
-
Oh my, my!!! He's no Gene Kelly but...
-
Oh my!!!

Glad you didn't listen to it more carefully. That was music from "Dark Shadows." The "One Step Beyond" theme was scary too, but there was a beauty to it. Yeah, John Newland was kind of scary but Rod Serling looked much more scary with his five o'clock shadow and heavy brooding brows. Message was edited by: CineMaven P.S. You won't be scared by this version of the theme song. Sounds like a re-make.
-
Bronxgirl:You'll keep me on the non-redundancy track. Like if I say "sexy Gloria Grahame". STUDLY ARNOLD STANG???? No no no no no. That's like saying: shapely, Marie Dressler. Now you've gone way over to the other end of the spectrum; into oxymoron territory. Get back to the middle, Bronxgirl...get back to the middle. ;-)

Pillsbury ain't got nuthin' on you, Bronxgirl.

Hey Smokey: "Spencer Tracy was too hard looking for her (at least in my opinion). She was too pretty to be with someone as plain, hard nosed and harsh as Tracy..." Whaddya think of Harlow with the great Wallace Beery? ("Dinner At Eight.")
-
I've never seen a hand fit a glove (O.J. not withstanding) like Vivien Leigh playing the role of Scarlett O'Hara. Perfection!
-
Fred was such a joy to watch. He was very graceful and made everything look so effortless. I've played back some of his dance moves with Ginger, in slow motion. Fred was flawless. But ooooh, I suspect you are right about Kelly being more fun in bed. **** or no...hmmmm.
-
Looks like she's got that Kathryn Grayson nose...so I'm going to go with it: KATHRYN GRAYSON?
-
Thank you very much. I'm sure as I begin to watch this Hitchcock episode, the plot'll come back to me. The only thing scarier will be watching Hillary try to steal Obama's thunder as he receives and accepts the Democratic nomination. Boo! or is that boooooooooooo!

I've always loved Anne Gwynne and Evelyn Ankers. Thank you Mongo for spotlighting the beautiful Ankers. She really has a typical 1940's. And I say Hubba! Hubba! Where can I buy some war bonds? Loved her in many movies. Always laughed in "Ghost of Frankenstein" when she runs...right into Frankenstein's arms. (Great dress too) What a handsome couple she and Denning were!
