  1. Say it ain't so Chip...say it ain't so. I saw her in "The Philadelphia Story" and still no. Didn't she play Warren William's daughter in a Lone Wolf movie?? Okay Chip, Virginia Weidler it is. Wait...are you sure? Okay...okay.
  2. Now now Mongo...I suspect that Mormons watch TCM too. But NOT ON MY WATCH!!!! Silly idea, Bewitched. Now as for Jeff Chandler's movie...now you're tawkin'!!!
  3. You've sooooo whet my appetite for revisiting this film I haven't seen in many years. Love Lizabeth Scott!
  4. You're so right. BTW, can you use Spell Check.
  5. These pictures you posted are wonderful. I love my Ava with longer hair. All Ava...all the time.Great shots.
  6. It's all good Ella. We've got other spewers onboard.
  7. Besides listing the cast, would you tell us who is playing whom? I understand the luscious Eva Mendes is playing Crystal Allen. Ay yi yi...she's delicious. Poor Mary Haines. She doesn't stand a chance. I don't have high hopes for the film though I'll be there for the trainwreck. I'm sure younger viewers will like it since they probably don't know the original.
  8. " One more thing. Pumpkinhead (1989) is a pretty good horror film. The first time we watched Pumpkinhead...my friend and I thought the movie was titled Punkin' Head. Strange thing...our "Punkin' Head" title mistake is a more appropriate name for the movie than Pumpkinhead. " - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Oh yeah "Pumpkinhead" was quite a scary movie. I haven't seen it lately...but I remember how sad it was that the man lost his son becuz of some careless bikers and summoned this horror beast for vengeance. Great movie.
  9. Look, the Yankees and the Mets have not made the Playoff. WHY are you watching anyway? Put on a Lombard DVD.-- A native Noo Yawker.
  10. Thanxxx for the Lombard shots. Yep, she had a great pair of legs. I mean, Cyd and Ann Miller don't have anything to worry about, but Lombard is NO SLOUCH in that area either.
  11. Cimarron (1931) Ben-Hur OR Ben-Hur (Novarro) (Heston)
  12. Is it Buddy Rogers...I'm going with that.
  13. "I do love you darling, yes I do, you know I do." Hunt in "The Human Comedy." She looks fantastic, she and Anita Louise had the most delicate beauty. I wish the noir fest would take place in NY. Glad to see she's alive and well and honored. West Coast. Darn!
  14. Awwwww what a hoot that movie was. I did feel sorry for crazy Baker at the end. She truly broke down. Crackpot!
  15. " Sheriff McClelland: 1968's 'Night of the Living Dead': Well, there's no problem. If you have a gun, shoot 'em in the head. That's a sure way to kill 'em. If you don't, get yourself a club or a torch. Beat 'em or burn 'em. They go up pretty easy" That WAS pretty funny Vallo. I think I have to buck the trend of this thread and go with a line I thought was the most romantic line I've heard in horror films: "The Mummy" (1932) "Call her...he's dragged her back to ancient Egypt. Call her. Her love for you will bridge the centuries."
  16. I'm going to have to go with "Citizen Kane" too as overrated. I sometimes like the movie and then sometimes I think people like it becuz they're supposed to like it since it is No. 1 on lists. But I want to keep an open mind...so if someone wants to teach me how to make momogoogoo ( I have a Travelocity deal to fly to Borneo for Thanksgiving to see the mating ritual of the Yohoho tribe...) I'd be open to that.
  17. It's been about over twenty years since I've seen "Footsteps..." so I can't, in good conscience, speak on the film. All I remember was that Flynn and Marshall(Mrs. William Holden) were gorgeous (wasn't she in a pirate film with Flynn?) Now that you folks have mentioned the stripper Patrick, I wonder what it was like when she read the script and saw that she'd have to peel like Gypsy Rose Lee. YIKES!!! Some films are hits and some films miss. Interesting to see the words dumpkoff associated with Irish Hale. Aye yi Skipper!
  18. WHAT??? How 'bout Lauren in "The Big Sleep"?
  19. Miriam Hopkins: "Can you be so cruel?" DeHavilland: "I can be very cruel. I have been taught, by masters."
  20. "Great pix! Ryan definitely makes The Racket leap to life whenever he appears. For some reason, I find Mitchum oddly passive in this movie, which keeps it from being an all-out favorite. I had high hopes for it but it's a bit on the disappointing side." I guess Mitchum knew what he was up against after being with Double R in the movie where he was a racist. I see he took this route: if you can't beat 'em... Who wants to see Lee Marvin nice. Snarling, sneering, hot coffee flying through the air, smacks, punches, hair pulling. Yeah!!! Cardinale hotter than the desert. So well-said and so darned true!!!
  21. Whoa..."Mr. Sardonicus." When Oskar Homolka is stuffing his face at the dinner table, while Mr. Sardonicus is stuffing his face...ugh! What an ending. Thanx for the reminder. I'd have to go with "Vertigo." Judy/Madeleine, dead/NOT dead; suicide murder. And Kim Novak: Mmmmmm!
  22. Lauren, your pictures 'slay me.' And yes, Roz looks really pretty. There's a shot of Dale Evans that looks kind of like Ann Sheridan. I guess Roy knew what he was getting. Simply put: Rita Hayworth is a Goddess!!!
  23. Elizabeth was stunning, wasn't she?
