No I don't have Tourette's. I just love saying: AvaAvaAvaAvaAvaAvaAvaAy yi yi!!! She's absolutely gorgeous!!!
-
OUCH!!! And I just saw Strasberg in "The Manitou." Sorry to say...she didn't improve. I'd have to say the actor that set my teeth on edge (and I can say this since I've had extensive dental work) is Virginia Weidler in "The Women." UGH! Going into her mom's closet and pleading for mommy dearest and daddy darling NOT to get a divorce was downright criminal bordering on child abuse... uh, I mean audience abuse. Whew... something stinks in here! (And to think, her brother was married to Doris Day. And he was psycho).

Wasn't Cousin Brucie in "Diamonds Are Forever" ???

I give Jane Fonda a rating of 8. I give Guest a rating of -3. Stop being disingenuous and starting sh1t!!! Hi Chip.

HOT DAMN! Forgive me folks, but what else can one say about Ava. I'm not as eloquent as the quote from Eve Arden, but she summed her up nicely. Ava, especially in these shots (the one in the posting below sittingon the chaise lounge looking directly into the camera has scorched my eyes) is unbelievably hot (sorry Rita, Lana and Marilyn) and I think Mickey and Artie Shaw were damned lucky!! And though we sat in the darkened theatres gazing at Ava from afar, we were lucky too.

"Ace in the Hole." Jeanne Crain or Donna Reed? (jbGrace: Roger Moore over Connery? Wha??)
-
Hi Chip...how's it going?? I could see a host for Essentials who WAS involved in the movie that'd be showing. First-person experience would be entertaining and valuable, don'cha think? I don't want see Margaret O'Brien talking about "Tall in the Saddle." I want to see her talk about "Meet Me in St. Louis." We've got to corral some of these stars before they pass.

You're possessed.

Re-issue the one...the only...the original. There is only one Loy & Powell. They can't be touched. Why don't they re-paint the Mona Lisa.
-
OH MY GOD!!! I JUST MENTIONED THAT TO A COWORKER THE OTHER DAY. THANXXX!!!!!!!
-
Huh??? Aren't kids supposed to be in school during the daytime? Peck on Bacall ANYtime!!!
-
Nice pix of Lana. Love those two-toned shoes she's wearing below. "I watched 'Murder My Sweet' again, too, and I like it more and more each time. Everyone was so good in their respective roles. The dialogue breaks me up! " I agree with you. I thought Dick Powell did a fantastic job as Marlowe. Talk about breaking that boy tenor type-casting...I think he broke it wide open. Pefectly cast film, Nulty.
-
HOLY K-K-K-KRAP!!! I think it's "Cat People" that was on last night. We didn't miss Ann did we?? Sheeeeeeeeet!! Did we miss her??
-
Miss Goddess...Frank... Reading your banter has been a delight. You both made cogent points on "...Iguana" but your by-play with each other should be molded into a screenplay. Nice!!!
-
"That scene with her and Claire Bloom in the bedroom." Oh...oh yeah, "The Haunting" was a horror movie. I just made up a different little movie in my head with that sentence. (Julie Harris was GREAT. Russ Tamblyn was damned annoying).
-
You too are wacky!!! Jesus! Polls show that baby-booming TCM-watchers want TCM to bring "The Sonny Fox Show" and "The Shari Lewis Show" back onto tv. Geez!
-
You're quite welcome there, Redriver. Frank, wouldja mind if I chimed in on your va-va-vooms? MaryBeth Hughes is INDEED a bonafide cutie pie! I've got to imdb her and see what's up with Mary Beth.

You're a little bit wacky, and I'm a little bit classic film lover. Save Andy & Claudine Longet for a nostalgia channel. We want our Gable, Tyrone Power, Rita, Ava, Lana, Stanwyck, Crawford, Chaplin, Goddard, Kim, Marilyn, Tierney, Greer, Dunne, Loy, Spence, Ginger, pure and undiluted...thank you ! Unadulterated CLASSIC FILM! Quit throwing a monkey wrench in things. (If it ain't broke, don't fix it!)

Picking your own movies to watch on Halloween

A C Q U A N E T T A...her name conjures up some warm memories and her lovely beauty. I think Sidney Poitier's daughter, Sydney, reminds me of Acquanetta...olive skin, long wavy thick dark hair. Gosh I haven't seen "Captive Wild Woman" in umpteen centuries. Do I have to buy the DVD, VHS, or is there some free forum that I can go to. She should have had a bigger career. The only thing missing was that she wasn't a great actress. But I say...WHO CARES!!! She was gorgeous!!! -
Like Annie Lennox's walking on broken glass...I enjoyed the movie having been taken to see this film when it originally came out. I was a kid and didn't know what the HECK was going on. Deborah Kerr. I think her character was just a calming effect on Burton and for Ava. (Loved that they were in "The Huckster" in 1947). Not a sexual being (except to a sicko like me) but a conduit for those seeking peace and tranquility. Loved Kerr. But Ava was the hot toddy, wasn't she? Yeah Lolita was cute...but Ava aaaaaahhhhhhh Ava. Dammmmit where are my maracas?????????
-
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, I thought you meant the film with Lauren Bacall and the actor from "Aliens."
-
Loved seeing Margo. I thought she was a sexy gal. And I agree, Edward Albert DID look exactly like his mom, especially around the mouth. How did Eddie(Oliver Wendell Douglas) Albert score a babe like that??? Tsk! Tsk!

"The Narrow Margin" was a tough taut little picture. But glad to see the shout out to "...Martha Ivers." Love that film and it has Lizabeth Scott. What ELSE do we need? -
"My beer is Rheingold the dry beer Ask for Rheingold whenever you buy beer..." "Tan don't burn get a Coppertone tan."
