" The "movie" I've cried at most is a three-part LASSIE story called "Lassie's Odyssey." It's like LASSIE COME HOME, only done for the TV series. At the end Timmy finally accepts that Lassie is never coming home again and starts to bury her toys...and then Lassie comes running over the hill barking. I sit down with a box of Kleenex ready to watch that one. " WoW! I always find a gem of a post that brings me back back back in time. It was yours LindaY. I remember that Lassie episode. I can still see Timmy running. Those two were in love... ( and I was totally in love, IN LOVE with Jon Provost and Billy Gray and Paul Petersen and Bobby Diamond and Johnny Washbrook and TOTALLY smitten with the little boy in "The Rifleman"). See if you can figure out the tv shows those young stars were in. Thank you for bringing up that episode. It brought me back.

Well hot dammmmmmmmmmmmm. G'day Mate. Put another shrimp on the barbee!!! He was GORGEOUS!!! Hairy, beefy, don't get me started. Don't get me started!!! And the lucky bloke is hugging Claudia Cardinale (right?) Whew!!! I'm burning up!!!

Okay...I'll go out on a limb here: Jeff Chandler is one hunk o' man. I love his steel grey hair and intense look. I dare say they don't make men like THAT anymore. Hubba! Hubba!!

My my my I must look for "The Lost Moment." I've heard of it, but your description has sold me. I must see it. Always thought the young Robert Cummings ("Love That Bob") was quite handsome. I agree: "King's Row." I think he had seven kids. (Don Ameche too...and Jeanne Crain). Geeez. What was in that 1940's water???

Big BIG fan of Suzanne Pleshette. In "Youngblood Hawke" they film a scene on the Brooklyn Promenade where she has just shown in an apartment for the whopping price of $65.00 a month. If you see the Promenade now, and know that those apartments go for about $4500 a month... Times have changed. Loved that film. Love Pleshette. I hear she's just got over some health problems. Hope it all works out for her.

Frankie I didn't see Madeleine, but I think I saw a Judy at Bloomingdale's. Eyebrows kind of wild...but quite a looker in that dark green sweater set.

Gotta love that Marie Windsor. She was tough as nails, wasn't she? Great taut little film. (The fight in the train car made me think of "From Russia With Love." Great movie!

I remember Grizzard in "From The Terrace." Fine, reliable actor.

You're right!! Wasn't it a great movie. Of course lesbianism today would be handled differently. The girl would NOT be stigmatized. Shirley might not have gotten Audrey, but she would find that there are other lesbians out there who would welcome her attention. Wyler was a great director, and "The Children's Hour" was a good film. It was a product of the times: Garner didn't want to lose his girl, the malevolent kid was a psychotic future lethal lady, Audrey still loved her friend even though she wasn't IN love with her, and Shirley...loved Shirley. Homophobes of the world...GET OVER YOURSELVES!!! CineMaven.

" TCM is my favorite channel, and Robert is my favorite host. Period enough said. " Thank you Cashette. Osborne looking cranky??? Hmmm...maybe it's the poster who is cranky.

I met him on the set here in New York's studio. He had four interviews to do that day (while I was in heaven). He was an absolute gentleman...not cranky at all...not stuffy... ate with the crew...A Gentleman!

Just watched some of "Murder, My Sweet" and Claire Trevor was great. The acting shows but I loved her lacquered look. I died when Anne Shirley called her "a big league blonde." I bring it up becuz...welll, Lana's a blonde.

CineMaven, Thought you might like this post... ...all Lizabeth Scott! FG Finally...FINALLY I got over to the site Garland. The pictures of Scott are great. Her eyes are very mesmerizing...they bore holes into you. Sweet, sultry, inviting. Thank you so much for posting those shots. She had her place in Hollywood history and I hope she won't be forgotten. Thanxx!!

ANOTHER bubble burst. Thanxxx CineSage.

Vivien Leigh. Evelyn Ankers OR Anne Gwynne. Hey...Paulette Goddard would have been my second choice for Scarlett. But Vivien was PERFECT. It was the role of the century.

Can't do comedy-westerns; not even my beloved Oomph Girl. Is this a precursor to her "Pistols & Petticoats"??? Love Sheridan though. Love HER!

Robert Ryan. WHAT A HUNK OF MAN!!!

I wouldn't mind folks disagreeing, but sooooo vitriolic. What did I tell you Eliza...what'd I tell ya???? Predictable. Bbleeeech! I bet he doesn't date redheads either.

Thank you JB for the compliment. Bette WAS a force to be reckoned with, wasn't she. Bette, Emma, Ingrid, Greer, Tierney, Bancroft, Lombard, Leigh...and three nods to Stanwyck...amazing actresses. I was happy to see Jennifer O'Neill's name listed. I don't know that she was a powerhouse like the other ladies mentioned...but I saw "Summer of '42" when it came out back in 1971 and was so touched by Jennifer O'Neill and the young boy's love for her. She was so sweet. She broke my heart. Glad she's remembered.

"Frank --- You really must see this film, I think it's a western you would appreciate---and the dvd is full of wonderful extra's. Don't miss Scott Eyman's commentary. Linda's part is small---but effective and crucuial in Doc Holliday's character development." Boy I'LL say. Linda Darnell made boys into MEN!!! Not that Victor Mature wasn't a man in the first place, but you know hwat I mean... Message was edited by: CineMaven

Easy now Primadonna. Maybe Norma wasn't chic all the time. You know, madonna in the kitchen and...in the bedroom. Older woman, young man. Norma might've shown young Master Rooney a thing or two. ;-) Now if it was Joan Crawford, I might run. Oh you kid.
