Hey Smokey...I just saw that same "Beverly Hillbillies" episode. Was Jethro a "moving picture director" and Joi was married to Earl Scruggs and cooking for him hillbilly side.
She had a lovely figure and a lovely dulcet voice. Breast cancer... a nasty thing. She was gorgeous.

I gotcha FF. Forewarned is forearmed. I'll get my zzzzzzzz's before I go to the theatre.

Hi there. This may not be cliche...but just a pet peeve of mine:
When lovers argue in front of an "audience" of passers-by. Or if they kiss and the passers-by applaud.
God, I hate that sheeeeeeeeeeeet with a passion. But that's just me.

Not so yummmmmmm for me. Seems kind of mashed potatoes.

Even more than in "Vertigo"???
I'm just killing a little time before the Big Show, though I do have on Barbara Walters' special (waiting to see Vanessa Williams).
-
That was a lovely picture you supplied of Kim (in front of a red background). Quite captivating.

The glitz, the glamor, the creme de la creme, the "more stars than there are in the heavens" studio: M-G-M.

You must, you must.

I wonder if the star ever feels in his/her heart of hearts that the Award is just a consolation prize for not getting it a previous year...or are they just happy and grateful to be receiving an Oscar.

POINCIANA, Where you been?? I haven't seen your name on these boards in a month of Sundays!!!
Oh yeah, Regis Toomey was a great character actor.

Hey that wasn't me...I live in New York City. (And I've been told I don't snore).

what a sentence that was one sentence wasn't it, huh

I did actually. Woke up in time to see Clooney walking away from a group of people and then the credits scrolling over him in the back seat of a car. $12.00 down the drain and I LOVE George Clooney. Can't win 'em all.

Okay okay...I'll come into the 21st century...DVD-style.

I was bored to sleep at this movie. Ugh!

Since it's supposed to be raining in L.A. may we please hold a seance and bring back the King: BOB HOPE .
If we can't get in touch with him, Whoopi & Billy Crystal were fantastic hosts. And the razor sharp wit of Jon Stewart should poke jabs in the wonderful pomposity of this event.

Hey LZ:"I would imagine that many who auditioned for the part were breathing a sigh of relief when they started to hear the stories of the grueling hours shooting the movie, going through numerous writers, directors and having to deal with David O. Selznick."
Nahhhh, you're wrong. It's just like women with a parsel full o' kids who continues to forget the labor pains during delivery. How do you think they felt after the picture was a fait accompli? Is it worth it to go through hell to have a finished product like THAT??
Hey Frank...again, as usual, the screencaps are great. And yes, that one shot of her in the red dress sums her up. If she HAS to face the adversity, she'll have that one eyebrow cocked and walk into it. Scarlett, I swear...

Wasn't Jan Sterling in it ...and Natalie Schaefer; you know Gilligan's Millionaire's Wife???
-
The young actor who played Eli/Paul put me to mind of the fantastic job Edward Norton did in "Primal Fear" with Richard Gere & Laura Linney. (Correct me gently if I have the wrong film title, thanx!)

It's been a long time since I've seen "Female on the Beach." I've got to catch it again and then I'll tell ya.
-
cmvgor, you are SO right. Goes to show you...LOOSE LIPS SINK SHIPS!!!

Thank you for answering.

I was sorry Julie Christie didn't win. But I understand Marion Cotillard did an amazing job as the tragic Piaf.
Wish Amy Ryan had won, but guess this might prove that the fix is not[/i] in. Favorite part, Jon Stewart. Wonderful host.
Sooooo very happy for Javier Bardem and Daniel Day-Lewis. They did towering jobs.
