  1. "I know. I?ve had my own movie fantasies over the years. Right at this particular moment, I wish I had the youth and strength of Samson, riding a chariot across the desert, with Hedy Lamar hanging on to me. :p"

    1. "I don't want to be armed with a weapon that destroys you."

    2. "I cannot fight against his God. But no one woman will take him from me."

    3. "Your arms were quicksand. Your kiss was death."

(A boy should listen to his Mother.)

(4.) "Satan himself taught her all the arts of deception."

(5.) "If you crush the life out of me, I'll kiss you with my dying breath."

    (6.) "NO MAN LEAVES DELILAH."

You want that vixen on your arm as you drive a chariot FCD? Well...forewarned is forearmed. ;-)

  2. Aaaaaah JULIE CHRISTIE.

When I was a little girl starting to watch the Academy Awards telecast, the first one I saw was when Sidney Poitier & Julie Christie won their awards. My mom took us to see "Dr. Zhivago" "Far From the Madding Crowd." I didn't understand all that was going on, but I knew I liked the "pretty lady."

I saw and enjoyed "Away from Her." I think if I research this, I might've mentioned this way back in January on the boards. She gave a heartbreaking understated performance. I'm rooting for her and Amy Ryan to win. [b Sarah Polley did an excellent job![/b]

P.S. I'm a big Helen Mirren fan too!) Long live the BRITS!

  3. Guys...I'm there!! If you three put this together...you should be working for TCM. One question, do we have to wear nametags with our Message Board handle??? I say comb the Motion Picture Home and see if there are any celebrities there that would be up to speaking and frankly being honored by their many TCM fans. They may not even realize we exist. I'm sure it'd make their day.

  4. Thanxx for the info on Phyllis Thaxter, one of the unsung actresses. You say more with your pictures than certain board members do with their 50 posts an hour and complaints of not being loved or wanted. Oy vey! Thank you!!

(I remember Skye Aubrey back in the 70's) made me think of Priscilla Lane).

  5. "USAGE: There is considerable overlap between the meaning and use of insure and ensure. In both U.S. and British English, the primary meaning of insure is the commercial sense of providing financial compensation in the event of damage to property; ensure is not used at all in this sense. For the more general senses, ensure is more likely to be used, but insure and ensure are often interchangeable, particularly in U.S. English."

See, a boring read, isn't it. Well, you can't be right all the time. And those are rather tasty.
