To paraphrase Groucho or Woody Allen (or was it Sally Field on Oscar nite) "I don't want to be a member of any club that would have me as a member."

High school must have been very lonely for you. Too.

As you know "Gone With the Wind" is coming on tonite. If you do decide to watch the film tonight, would you tell me five things you love about "GWTW" and five things you hate about "GWTW"??? Whether it's plot, actor, music, direction...share that.

Hmmmm...I can hear it now. The Monkees' "I'm A Believer" while the lion is in the stadium with lovely Deborah Kerr and the lovelier Buddy Baer.
-
Lovely pix you've posted there. Lovely. I wonder if he fainted being so close to Ava...

Nah!!! If I may speak for her...no nervous breakdowns for Ms. G., Mr. Hollywood.
-
May I agree with you Sir. Kirk Douglas does indeed get the S.O.B. award for his portrayal of a callous reporter in "Ace in the Hole" and Billy Wilder is the genius behind it. (Pull no punches, Mr. Wilder).
On the distaff side, I must go with Bette Davis in "The Little Foxes." Not giving her husband his heart medication was, well... heartless.
P.S.: It's ensure.

Totally turned on by Eleanor Powell's dancing either alone...or with the master (you know who I mean) but my favorite number has got to be the NICHOLAS BROTHERS dancing and sliding down that staircase.
Incomparable artistry.
I wonder if they needed Ben Gay after those splits??

Eloquent as usual, Bronxgirl.

Look at me! Look at me!! Notice ME.
There are no limits on the amount of threads anyone (new or old-timer) may post. Go on...post three, four...ten, fifteen threads in a short amount of time in a forum. You'll not get a lot of responses; you may be even seen as a nudge...or trying to take over a forum. Free speech...fascism?? Ooh boy. What a stretch. Dangerous buzzwords. There's a lot of freedom on the TCM Message Board. Fascism? Really? Really.
Don't worry. I won't speak on this again. I'm just grateful there is a core group of posters
who I've thoroughly enjoyed having a dialogue with. And whom have been very nice to me.
But you know what...right about now, I think I'd welcome our human spellchecker back here again. Come back Shane. Come back little Sheba. Come back to the five and dime CineSage, CineSage. ;-)

cmvgor...I am flattered to be mentioned and in such good company. I'm a movie lover...not a muck-raker or a spell-checker. Maybe an idiot savant but I'm not a destroyer of threads. I hope to continue to be welcomed on this Message Board. TCM rocks!
And so do many of you members. Thank you!!

I'm afraid I've never warmed up to "Bell, Book and Candle" and her love affair with Sammy Davis Jr. was (definitely squashed) a thorn in the side of Harry Cohn, I understand. Wow.
Kim's a dreamboat! Would love to see her present an Award; you know, a Hollywood veteran presenting with a young turk. Doris Day'll appear at the ceremonies before THAT happens. Or maybe pigs WILL fly. Too bad there are no historians BEHIND the scenes of the producing end of this show. Oh fiddle dee dee...we'll always have Tara!
"Gone With the Wind" tonight, folks.

She's a genius SCSU...a veritable genius!

Hey Bronxie: "But Ashley Wilkes says he LIKES to see a girl with a healthy appetite!"
What gentlemens say and what they does is two different things. And besides, I always envisioned FrankGrimes to be more Rhett than Ashley. Now there's a man who likes a woman with a healthy appetite:
"You're right. I like girls that eat. Why? Because a girl who eats is relaxed, and I'll take a relaxed girl every single time."

Well tanks a lot Bronxgirl!! How can Vivien Leigh and Hattie McDaniel follow up what French and Saunders do in this parody? It'll be hard to keep a straight face tonite.

Zohra! Zohra!!
Princess one question...I haven't seen your Mummy movie yet, but why do you (aka Ramsay Ames) has a bride of Frankenstein streaks in your (her) hair??
-
You're so right. Thank you Casablancalover. Starting from scratch. YIKES! One sure does lose ground in Hollywood. I always liked her.
-
Big Bopper...I suggest you relax and chill the $#@ out.
No one cares how many posts someone has...but it's interesting to check out a thread and see how many people respond to it. If no one is answering your thread (and putting up threads every two minutes is not the way to go) you might be going a little overboard. As I've said somewhere else here before, Newbies are welcomed... ALL are welcomed if they enter the boards with respect, not begging for friends and stick to talking about movies and not make this a Personals Column.
But what do I know...I'm a Kool-Aid drinkin' lapdog-slurpin' synchophant.

I long to see this flawed gem with the GREATEST title in screen history.
-
:-) I'll admit though, that's the best I've ever seen Robards look.
Now back to Claudia...
-
Gorgeous and rugged man. Let's not leave THAT out!
-
Oh yeah..."The Movie Star" on "Gilligan's Island." Lovely.
And with that said, don't forget Jayne's sister Audrey. ("To the moon Alice!")

Question for you Frank...I take it from skimmingly perusing through this thread, that you have NOT seen the epic masterpiece: "Gone With the Wind"??
It's coming on tonite. (Guess today is epic Monday on TCM with a slew of two plus hour films screened today). Why not make a commitment to sitting down and giving "Gone With the Wind" your undivided attention. You could kill two birds with one stone tonight: (1.)you could finally be seeing this classic film and (2.) you could get some harpies off your back.
Oy vey! (Ladies...ladies, I'm JOKING about the 'harpies'!!) I know you're just trying to make Frank a fully informed man.
-
Bronxgirl: glad to see this thread is taking another tangential life of its own. May I continue with the frivolity:
Hey hey, ho ho...Dame Judith Anderson's got to go.
Hey hey, ho ho...GLORIA HOLDEN should be the show!!! (Hey look at her performance in "Dracula's Daughter."[/i])

HAPPY 75TH BIRTHDAY, KIM
