  1. Look how soulful little Scotty Beckett's eyes were....once you peel your eyes away from Clint. Whew! Just had lunch with my friend Marvin who is a big big fan of Clint Walker's and says "Night of the Grizzly" is excellent.
  2. Well those shots say it all. Wow. "THIS BABY CAN TALK!!!!" Spanky's (3-years old and ) totally adorable!!! Waiting for Scotty Beckett. He was the cutest little Rascal. But that kid with the striped hat (Brisbane)... whew!
  3. Awwww...my little Petey. Before thugs bastardized the breed, there was Petey. :x Yeah Lassie was a beauty, but she was never a pirate.
  4. Awww he's a cute little round-headed boy, and has some funny lines in this iteration of the Rascals. But I'm lovin' Pete.
  5. "Why, Cheyenne Body, I've been missing you!" - <<< (( Sue Sue... )) >>> "Oh dear." - <<< (( Jackaaaay )) >>> I don't why Olive Oyl says she likes a "clean shaven man..." << ( Sigh! ) >> ???? I'm watching the Our Gang shorts on TCM. Yay Miss Crabtree!!! I love watching the little boys melt. I love (in general) watching the gang's reaction takes. Those slow takes and the pauses. Love the gang.
  6. Eeeww. What a horrible presumption when we're just having fun.
  7. While you while away your time in Payne...I will be here with him: http://www.meredy.com/walkerc01.jpg
  8. THIS is why TCM is of the utmost importance to classic film fans. Conversation between CineMaven and SueSue Applegate - Between 10 / 2 - 9 /2010: MAVEN: Anne Francis. SUE SUE: Excellent suggestion! Anne Francis! Love it!" MAVEN: Thank you SueSue. I think Anne has been in a number of classics: "Blackboard Jungle" "Bad Day at Black Rock" to name two. I think she'd be great!! How 'bout her with Leslie Nielsen???" MAVEN: TCM, if you are seriously reading our suggestion...will you please see about getting that other bombshell to appear: DOROTHY MALONE. Thank you. SUE SUE: Dorothy Malone! Wonderful....and Anne Francis AND Leslie Nielsen.... MAVEN: Sadly now, this will not be possible. SUE SUE: :-( That was b'cuz of Leslie Nielsen's death. And now finding out that Anne Francis has just passed away has kind of bummed me out. I too remember and loved her in "Honey West." She had a great look and a great voice and can turn it hot or play it cold. I'm wishing TCM all the best in planning for their film festival this April. I hope that every celebrity they have reached out to will accept this invitation and feel the love from the countless film fans who remember them. (So Miss Day, Miss DeHavilland...we implore you). Thank you TCM. And R.I.P. Anne Francis. :-(
  9. pssst!!! PSSST!!!! Hey Musical Novelty....over here. Over here: http://forums.tcm.com/jive/tcm/message.jspa?messageID=8478952#8478952
  10. I actually have seen those Suex2. Check out the way she answers when the ditzy interviewer asks her what her real name is. His very first question. HA! That's my girl. Sad she's gone.
  11. "I'm back to the Zone now the "Wagon Train" marathon is over. Ann Francis (yes it really is her and NOT Sally Forrest this time ) is getting rattled in a department store by Elizabeth (Donovan's Reef / Cheyenne Autumn) Allen." Elizabeth Allen was gorgeous. I think she was in "From the Terrace." So I get off the plane at LaGuardia, I carry my bags to catch transportation. I texted my sister to let her know I arrived safely. My phone beeps a text message. It's my sister. Her message: "Anne Francis has died." Her passing along with Suzanne Pleshette's and Elizabeth Montgomery's saddens me. UGH!!! What a welcome home!!!
  12. "I'm so glad, c'mAva. I wasn't sure what you thought of her. I know she's not in the acting league of the other divas and bombshells, bless her. And that can get on lots of people's nerves. I just love her softness and beauty in this period." - <<< (( Miss Goddess )) >>> There's our girl, Lana. She's in "No Life of Her Own. I love over-the-top melodramas...women's pictures. The dialogue so arch, her clothes so tailored... the very pointed conversation between wife and mistress - so "Hollywood-sophisticated." The overly joyous party, going louder and partier than a normal party would be. Whoa, there's Jean Hagen talking normal and not being a victim. Louis Calhern being a good guy. I like this kind of sudsy romance stuff.
  13. "Learn more about this wonderful man at :http://www.paulrwilliamsproject.org/exhibition/" - < ( SueSue Applegate ) > "His children, especially his daughter, is helping preserve his legacy and has published a coffee table book of his work." - < ( lzcutter ) > SueSue...Lynn, thank you for this information. As soon as I have a smidgen of time, I will look into both places you cited. I'm amazed, happy and proud his vision is stamped on the landscape of many places. "But you should say, 'happens' as I hope all will feel like they are seeing history as it happens." - < ( Filmlover ) > You got it. I will watch history unfold.
  14. DRAT! I didn't check the schedule. Had an entire day of "Law & Order: SVU" keeping me company. Let's not throw Suzanne Pleshette in the baggage hold. She was in this too. Yeah...double drat!!
  15. Ladies, you're such ladies. But you're being disingenuous about this. It's obviously...well to put it delicately...his hair. Look at the dark dreamy thick head of hair. I could be lost in there for daze. Hmmmmmmm SueSue. A picture is worth a thousand words, they say. My words would be something along the lines of: "Come to Mama, JohnnyBoy." Why did Anne Shirley leave that?!
  16. Paul Revere Williams. I had never heard of him. I now want to learn all about him. Good idea for a thread filmlover. I can't wait to see what happened on my birthdate: January 18th.
  17. Oooooh boy, I'm not smart enough to ramble about Ford the way he demands...they way you Fordies need. I can get give a few snapshot thoughts on what I saw & felt. "...Liberty Valance" unexpectedly wiped me out...so I guess I'm kind of afraid of Ford. Give me Hitch, Stevens, Wyler, Ulmer, Wilder. Yeah...call me CineWuss. I liked the screencap you picked Jackaaaaaaaay. The poor guy. It's like he was kind of in the closet...about his brains, his past, his depth. Easier to be gambler/killer/lover, perhaps. Lemme stop before I go totally off the remark and show you what I don't know.
  18. Brilliant!! Does this mean you just saw it for the first time? No...I?ve seen it in film class in college. And off & on over the years. But something about this viewing just got me. I dunno. I?m still out west. * Ward Bond is so durned big. More to luuuuv.... Yup. I love big barrel-chested men in the movies. (I lerve Mike Mazurki! ?I want you should find a girl.?). * Walter Brennan is so durned mean. He sure is. His Old Man Clanton has "dead eyes" This is my favorite Walter Brennan role. Forget the ?heelots.? Give me the man with a whip. * Victor Mature is so durned deep and conflicted. and cute! Oh man he?s gorgeous and mean and looks great in all black. * Linda Darnell is so durned luscious. "I'm Chihuahua!" Stand aside, Clem. No contest. Who IS Cathy Downs? * Henry Fonda is...so durned determined & straight arrow. He excited me in this one! Fonda is an amazing actor. (?...Wrath? ?...Eve? ?Jezebel? ?Once Upon a Time...? ?Warlock?) So different in different roles. And I believe him as Earp. He?s tough, and unafraid and is all about justice. Destry squared?) * John Ford is...is...so durned perfect. :x Editor, Dorothy Spencer. She sure did...plus a whooooole lot of enduring classics, including some by my other favorite director, Ernst Lubitsch. WHAT?! I?ll have to look into her. P.S. ?Talking Tina? is about to do Telly Savalas in. Oops! There he goes...down the stairs.
  19. "MY DARLING CLEMENTINE" * Ward Bond is so durned big. * Walter Brennan is so durned mean. * Victor Mature is so durned deep and conflicted. * Linda Darnell is so durned luscious. * Henry Fonda is...so durned determined & straight arrow. * John Ford is...is...so durned perfect. Editor, Dorothy Spencer.
  20. Geez. This is a classic film thread. Now if they could just bring out Edy Williams...
  21. A very happy new year to all those who program the movies we see...produce the intros...edit the Memorials & shorts & interstitials...direct the documentaries...hairstylists/make-up artists, camera-men, grips, to those who tirelessly book the talent, to all the production team (having been a guest programmer I saw all it takes to make this magic happen)... and to all those who've come up with the ideas that make Turner Classic Movies the ONLY station for film buffs. To Ben and especially you, Mr. Osborne, all the best in all you want and do.
  22. "It was an inquiry as to where a former poster went to, and had several comments on it." No need to wonder about that. The poster(s) are still posting on the TCM Message Board. < SIgh! > Same ol' same ol'. Medication and moderation makes for a good web site. More of one might lead to less of another. A shame.
