111007 - I recently saw the three burials of so and so, by Tommy Lee Jones. What a disappointment by the former roomate of Al Gore. The character development starts with a masturabation scene and a two pump screw with his wife | (this, I believe, was the character develpmont) It was a relatively new film, new genre, in the progressive onslaught by hollywood, to continue to beguile the young, and upcoming generation of potential movie buffs. I feel saddened for them. When I was growing up in Queens and Staten Island, it was plot, development, and closure. Nothing today represents closure. Everyone in Hollywood wants to duplicate Pulp Fiction, which I believe was inimatable. But file like films like TWENTY ONE GRAMS, THE GOOD SHEPHARD, ETC, are not only confusing, but intellectually insulting. If there was one development to undermine Hollywood, is to show the olD , vs the new 12 ANGRY MEN for comparison. I tried it with my daughter about 12 years ago, and in her rebellious years, she voted for the old version better. She was 15 at the time and if you called her today (she lives in QUEENS) I am sure she will still agree. How do we take back HOLLYWOOD. 110707 - I really believe that to enjoy movies as lame as FOUNTAINHEAD, we must visit the present for clarification. Another highly touted movie I recently saw on HBO, THE THREE BURIALS OF SO AND SO, by Tommy Lee Jones was intellectually offensive. There, the character development was insulting and gratuitous. HBO gave it 3 stars - why????? It mucked!!!!!

110707 - Visited a modern film yesterday, and Babel was its name. It was rated R, which should have been for ROTTEN. Just another film which underhandedly denounces American tourists, American Border patrol and American gun manufacturer's, while intertwining near child porn as a subtext. I did not bother to get the directors name or the producers, but the left wing undertones and antiamerican agenda again creep in. I want to see entertainment and good acting, so it is back to TCM to perk my spirits up. Thanks for being there.
