I also think it could have been Hoover. As for Hitch - I'm sure if he had done such a thing, there would have been photos taken in the set, which would have surfaced eventually.

Well of course, sexiness is in the eye of the beholder, I just love that they were such an iconic presence and brought happiness to so many moviegoers. -
Time-Warner takeover of NBC Universal?
Film_Fatale replied to Film_Fatale's topic in General Discussions
The rumours are still being mentioned, for example in this story from today's Variety : A looming question mark is how Time Warner CEO Jeffrey Bewkes' future moves will affect the studio. There's talk that Bewkes is kicking the tires of NBC Universal and may buy the company in order to gain much-needed cable and broadcast TV webs to pair up with pay-cabler HBO. But such a purchase would give the conglom another studio, as well. http://www.variety.com/article/VR1117990663.html?categoryId=13&cs=1 Not sure why Variety doesn't mention any possible complications regarding FCC/anti-trust complications. -

You can call them what you like, I call them Hollywood Legends. -
Sometimes I kinda wonder if her acting ability might not have been greatly underappreciated over the years.

You won't get any argument from me there. -
It's sad that he died so young.

Kudos for limiting your own list to pre-1960 movies. More recent movies are alright, but to me they just aren't quite the same.

You're right, Miss G, it is very encouraging, particularly from one of the studios (Columbia) that has been slow to release more of its classics on DVD. B-)

Well, I don't know about "ill-suited". Many folks in the UK like to go to Spain whenever they can for the sunny, warm weather. As for the way he looked. Take a look, if you can, at what he looked like in that small cameo of his in Elvis' *That's the Way It Is*. Whatever age he was at that point in his life, most actors the same age look better nowadays. And not just because of "premature aging" of their skin. In any event, if you still don't know what I'm talking about, let's just agree to disagree on this point.
