If there were such a thing as "free versions" of movies (not those in the public domain, obviously) then every TV station would be playing those.

Seeking copy of Hollywood Revuew of 1929

If you're referring to 1929's *On With the Show!* it might be worth noting that it was filmed in 2-strip Technicolor. -
Are they doing blog-a-thons for everyone being celebrated in this year's SUTS?

I keep crossing my fingers that TCM might someday soon sign a deal with Parmount and Universal that will allow them to show as many of those titles as the Columbia titles they've been showing in the last few months.

The 1st *Tarzan* set was released in 2004; my guess is they might look a lot better if the box set were being released today. -

I lived in Vancouver, B.C. for several years (just above Seattle for those who don't know the area) and it rained almost every day of the year. Victoria, too!!! -
Several of the movies being shown today were TCM premieres, and I think all of the films showing on TCM for the 1st time today are Columbia films. Obviously, the choice of films for any given SUTS day is going to be at least partially influenced by what deals/licenses TCM has at any given moment.
