  1. The "movie connections" feature on imdb.com is very useful for that kind of stuff. If that doesn't do it, most movies will have an acknowledgement in the end credits mentioning all the songs, film clips, etc. that were featured in the movie.
  2. I believe that would be *You Were Never Lovelier* : http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0490204/movieconnections

  4. Yabba-Dabba-Do!!!!! WHV is releasing two animated theatrical releases from the mid-60's based on Hanna-Barbera characters: *Hey There, It's Yogi Bear* (1964) *The Man Called Flintstone* (1966) The release date is Dec. 2 and the SRP is $19.98.

Well, oddly enough some TCM viewers still don't realize that.
  6. In case you don't drop by next Saturday, I'll just wish you a Happy B-day now. B-)

  8. > {quote:title=iowahawkeye wrote:}{quote} > And i once again will use "the Big Lebowski" as an example...it's just milking something dry to the 100th degree...i don't get it. Do we REALLY need 4-8 different sets of the same movie within a 10 year period? Coming from the same studio that has a treasure trove of great unreleased stuff to stimulate interest in? (i happen to LOVE Jeff Bridges and "Lebowski", by the way) lol You do not get that we live in a capitalist system? That if a studio believes there is a profit to be made from reissuing a certain DVD, they would think twice about reissuing it? If you owned the rights to a movie and knew there is a good chance you can make more money by reissuing it over and over again, would you hesitate to do so, and give up the chance to make a substantial amount of money? If you were to do so, you would essentially be throwing money away. Even if you do not desire the money for yourself personally, you could always use it for a good cause or charity. Of course I am not under any delusion that the studios seek profits for profit's sake. Or that as long as we live in a capitalist system, they will continue to do so. I may not like it, but I like the alternative even less. Until something better comes along, I'll take capitalism with its good and bad sides. If you like the good things about living in a capitalist society, you also have to learn to take the less pleasant consequences. Having Universal constantly re-issue *The Big Lebowski* on DVD somehow doesn't seem as unpleasant as living in a communist or quasi-communist country.
  9. So you're saying that *all* movies that deal with real life are automatically "dark and depressing"?

A lot of this stuff has been sitting on their server for months. The situation came to a boil last week, with bad consequences for all. > Didn't they say they can't recover something that was hosted by another server - in this case, Photobucket?

  12. Well MissG, I guess I can once again feel lucky to have a copy of *Boomerang!* that was recalled. B-)
  13. Sounds almost like a scene from *The Producers*.
  14. Brendan Fraser was in *Encino Man* with (*sigh*) Pauly Shore.
  15. Udo Kier was in *My Own Private Idaho* which also featured Grace Zabriskie
  16. Weaver was in *Law and Order* with Dorothy Malone
  17. Agnes Moorehead was in *Citizen Kane* with Joseph Cotten.
