If it had only happened once or twice, you wouldn't have been asked dozens of times now to please not start so many redundant threads. And you know perfectly way several posters have asked you politely to please show some restraint.
If you're actually here to discuss movies, and you're not just desperately trying to get some attention (from anyone), then allow the forum to be used for discussing movies, without so much redundant information. And if you have an issue with a particular poster, then use PMs to settle the matter.

I agree, it is a wonderful way to celebrate her centennial. Thank you for posting the schedule of Lombard films for October.

CK, first of all, there is no need for name-calling, it just shows that you are being childish.
Secondly, people have been very patiently explaining to you in the DVD section of these forums just why it clutters up the place to have lots of redundant threads and redundant posts, and we've been explaining it to you for 6 MONTHS now. Please don't pretend that after 6 MONTHS of several people explaining it to you, you still don't understand why your relentless posting of redundant information annoys others.
You know perfectly well many others have already explained this to you several times in the other sections of the forums. Don't pretend that you haven't been asked nicely to stop posting redundant stuff.

You're the one who doesn't get it, or is simply trying to confuse the situation.
Your sole intent on these forums appears to be starting as many threads as you possibly can, including repeating a lot of information that has already been posted in other threads, apparently because you want to make yourself appear important or knowledgeable or something.
So stop posting just for the sake of posting, and try to participate in the conversations that are already ongoing. You won't seem as self-centered and you might find the forum regulars much more friendly to you.

*Turner Classic Movies pick for July 13, 2008: To Be or Not To Be*
?To Be or Not To Be,? TCM, Sunday, July 13, 2 p.m. (EST)
During World War II, just about every comedian in Hollywood made movies pitting them against Nazi spies. The 1942 classic ?To Be or Not To Be,? conceived and directed by sophisticated comedy maestro Ernst Lubitsch, is without a doubt the piece de resistance of this particular sub-genre.
It is also notable as the only movie that did justice to the comic genius of Jack Benny. Benny and Carole Lombard (her last film) play Joseph and Maria Tura, celebrated stage actors of Nazi-occupied Poland, who are pressed into service when the Polish Underground discovers that a double agent, Professor Siletsky (Stanley Ridges), plans to betray them.
After Siletsky is killed by the Underground, Tura is forced to impersonate him and confront Nazi Colonel Ehrhardt (great comic actor Sig Ruman in the role of his career) in order to prevent Siletsky?s report from making its way to the Gestapo.
The above synopsis doesn?t begin to convey the quality of the film which works equally well as both an espionage thriller and a comic farce. ?To Be or Not To Be? also features one of the funniest running gags in the history of film comedy. Although it makes no sense whatsoever out of context, the line ?So they call me ?Concentration Camp? Ehrhardt?? which is repeated almost a half-dozen times, gets increasingly hilarious with every repetition.
When ?To Be or Not To Be? was first released, the combination of black humor and Lombard?s tragically early demise were considered unpalatable and the film flopped at the box office. Now, it?s considered one of Lubitsch?s greatest triumphs. (The less said about Mel Brooks? travesty of a remake the better.)

Are you going to stop derailing threads or aren't you? Let people talk about movies, which is why the forums exist. If you have a personal issue with me or anyone, take it to PMs.
-
It isn't commercial spamming, but the spamming of every bit of info you come across, just because you want to start as many threads as you possibly can.
-
Just behave a little more maturely, and you might be surprised how much more welcoming the boards will be to you...
-
Are you saying it's difficult for you to participate in the boards without spamming and starting redundant threads?
-
Do you still not get it? It doesn't matter who posts it! If someone posts on the DVD forums something from dvdreview.com, does that mean that same person has some kind of "exclusive" right to cut-and-paste all future info from dvdreview.com? You're just being silly at this point.
Oh and contrary to your erroneous assumption, being enthusiastic about something is no excuse for childish behavior, or for spamming bulletin boards.
-
Honestly, you're just going to look immature if you keep this up forever. It's not enough for you if a certain article or write-up is there for everybody to see, it MUST have your name attached to it. Instead of being so petty and trying to bring attention to yourself at all costs, just kick back and enjoy the conversations that are already ongoing.
If you keep bumping your own redundant threads, you will only demonstrate you are just acting out of selfish reasons, and NOT because you "want to share" with others.

You don't want to take credit for the actual blurb from the examiner.com, but you DO want to take credit for being the one who posts it here, is that it?
I am not being nasty in any way by simply asking why is it that your only intent in posting anything in the forums is to bring attention to yourself and to promote yourself. You, on the other hand, are being self-centered, petty, narcissistic, and self-indulgent.
Stop trying to make it all about yourself. If the info is there for all to see, then it shouldn't matter who posts it.
-
They just don't make 'em like they used to, huh?

Oh, I had no idea you originated the idea of cutting-and-pasting from other websites! Did you claim a copyright on your incredibly original idea?
Look, if the info is there for everyone to see, why do you have to start redundant threads just so you can see your username next to it? Do you really post all of these threads just to boost your own ego?

That's funny. My postman really does always ring twice.

Not true; the other thread is an ongoing thread with the little daily blurb from the examiner.com website, and it is a thread that was started about a week ago.
Why do you insist on starting redundant threads? The info is already there for anyone who is interested, but that's not enough for you, is it?

*Michael Caine leaves his mark on Hollywood*
LOS ANGELES (AFP) ? Oscar-winner Michael Caine literally made his mark on Hollywood here Friday, joining the ranks of movie legends who have sunk their hands and feet in concrete outside the famous Chinese Theatre.
The 75-year-old actor was honored at a ceremony in front of the Hollywood landmark attended by around 100 guests, including the director of Caine's next film, the upcoming Batman sequel "The Dark Knight."
Caine, who has twice won best-supporting Oscars for his roles in "Hannah and Her Sisters" and "The Cider House Rules," plays the caped crusader's loyal butler Alfred in the keenly anticipated blockbuster, due out on July 18.
"It's the only award of its kind in the world," Caine told the local ABC7 television network.
"I know you get your star on the Hollywood pavement, but there's only been 192 of these since 1921, so they don't throw them about, you know?"
The London-born actor, who received a knighthood in 2000, has also been nominated for an Oscar on four other occasions for "Alfie," "Sleuth," "Educating Rita" and most recently "The Quiet American."
Caine has appeared in more than 100 films during a career that has spanned a half-century.

*Great white shark reported at 'Jaws' filming site*
EDGARTOWN, Mass. - The island where "Jaws" was filmed had a real-life shark scare Thursday, when an unconfirmed sighting of a great white forced the closure of two beaches.
South Beach on Martha's Vineyard was closed for a short time, and swimmers were kept out of the water at State Beach in Edgartown, the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation said.
A plane was dispatched to try to confirm the sighting, but no shark was spotted, said Lisa Capone, a spokeswoman for the state Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs.
In 1974, Steven Spielberg chose Martha's Vineyard for filming the movie version of "Jaws," depicting a series of deadly great white attacks in the fictional community of Amity.
Shark attacks are extremely rare in waters off New England, but great whites have been known to occasionally prowl in the region.

Actually, the AP story says why they didn't want the death to be publicly reported immediately due to legal reasons.

I do think we could use a bit more variety in the schedule...
