This is true. The pretty-faced Coop Girls are evil. There's no getting around that fact. I resent that Frank

I'm intrigued by your devotion to *Star is Born*, Lynn. Although of course I won't question your assessment regarding Frank, I am curious about whether or not you have already offered your thoughts about *Star* - if you did, then surely I must have missed them.

I watched *Random Harvest* not too long ago and don't remember any serial killers being involved. What I do remember is a pretty heartbreaking romance and the consequences of that torment that is amnesia. In any even, I'd say that with Greer Garson and Walter Pidgeon, you truly can't go wrong.

80's Westerns - "Silverado" and "Barbarosa" - 1/25/09
Film_Fatale replied to Film_Fatale's topic in Westerns
Hey Rey, That's quite a good list you came up with of 80's westerns. I had all but forgotten about *Old Gringo*, not a bad movie in my book but, from what I can remember, a bit of a box office failure when released in 1989. Wasn't it also Gregory Peck's final performance? -

If you are going to continue to use my name and my idea from last week of putting this behind you and letting some time pass (that idea which you seemed to embrace quite heartily as I recall) then I would really appreciate it if you would actually do that instead of continuing to invoke my name and holding up that idea that you appreciated so much while undercutting it by continually reminding everyone here that you feel you are not being treated fairly because some people have you on Ignore. Lynn, first of all, as I already told Kyle, I don't see why you assume that this has something to do with ignoring folks. Don't assume that, please. It takes quite a bit to stop this endless cycle of mutual accusations between different folks who, I'm sure, all like movies a lot, but who somehow may still have some personal differences with each other. I never said this would be easy. I feel there's folks here today who took potshots at others (never mind at who) and it probably doesn't help that both of them are among the supposedly exemplary fan programmers. Now just because I feel they could have been more diplomatic, doesn't mean I have a personal quarrel with them, or that I would hold a grudge against them. But, again, it's not always easy to just expect everyone to take personal differences and disagreements to a more private channel of communication, like PMs. As for OneSharpDame, I do feel she has been unfairly attacked, not just in this thread, but elsewhere. I don't believe she deserves the treatment she's gotten from some of the folks in the forums. Hopefully she won't decide to leave, she obviously has a lot of interesting insights to share with others.

patful, I don't think there has been such "exemplary behavior" and I could give you a few examples, but I won't do it here. And I'll tell you why: I am going to follow the example set by Lynn (who seems one of the few folks in the boards who truly seems committed to trying to make the boards a better place) and ask that anyone who has a personal problem (with me or anybody else for that matter) take it to PMs. That way we won't interfere with the enjoyment of the folks who are only interested in discussing movies. I invite others (if they are really interested in making the boards a friendlier place for everyone) to follow Lynn's example and do the same.

I really love that likeness of Keaton :x -
> {quote:title=Stephen444 wrote:}{quote} > I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for a classic tv network. There is just not enough interest in history from the general public to make this a profitable venture. I wouldn't be surprised about that. It's probably more profitable to release those shows on DVD box sets.

It's definitely worth catching; there's a lot of great things in it (story, characters, dialogue) and it also happens to have some of the first footage of post-war Berlin ever used in a Hollywood movie.

That you could iterpret the engaging of that function as an act of hostility confirms to this "Fan Programmer" that those members have made a smart choice. Who says it is the "engaging of that function" that I was referring to? Your incorrect assumption just confirms that some people (and not necessarily limited to fan programmers) would much rather look for something to be offended about than trying to improve communication among forum members.
