  1. I generally like most of the intros. Like Chris, I also preferred the old prime time intro to the one they just started using. Likewise, the "TCM Remembers" promos seem very appropriate to what is essentially a sad occasion. The worst promo, for my taste, was the one they had for the contest to pick a TCM Guest Programmer, where they asked people to submit a video clip. That promo seemed totally geared to an MTV audience. It was out of tone, imho, with the general mood of TCM. This one is one of my favourite intros! B-)
  2. Frears' *The Hit* is a pretty good movie. I'm glad it is receiving the Criterion treatment.
  3. Sounds awesome! Thanks for the links B-)
  4. Was just going to add a link B-) http://forums.tcm.com/jive/tcm/thread.jspa?threadID=136291&tstart=0

The story was engaging enough. Lots of interesting characters. I have a few thoughts on this one I will get too later. Just checking in for now. I'm recording *Wagon Master* at the moment Miss G. I'm never too cold to ramble, molo. Hope you've a nice warm fireplace Glad you enjoyed *The Blue Dahlia* - there's a long thread in the Film Noir forum, if you are interested.
  6. Thanks. I'm definitely going to buy this one. B-)

  9. Dudley Manlove was in *The Runaway* with _C?sar Romero_
  10. But it is entertaining, isn't it? Sorry you don't like the "Raindrops" number.
  11. Tarleton, Brent - George Reeves in *Gone with the Wind*

  13. Well it's a bit of an over-generalization, don't you think? I mean, I doubt the Polanski doc made a lot of money. And what about *The Thin Blue Line* ?
  14. Don't forget, Ford's *Wagon Master* is on TCM's schedule at 1pm ET, and this movie is *not* available on DVD! *Wagon Master* (1950) Two wandering cowhands sign on to help a wagon train headed for Utah. Cast: Ben Johnson, Joanne Dru, Harry Carey Jr., Ward Bond Dir: John Ford BW-86 mins, TV-PG
  15. George Raft was in *Some Like It Hot* with _Joe E. Brown_

  17. All three stars are excellent in the movie, WhyaDuck, but maybe we should also give a little bit of credit to director Billy Wilder. B-)
  18. > {quote:title=Daria wrote:}{quote} > I saw the screencaps. Nice! It was well over a year ago that they were promoting the release of all eight specials and then the fanfare just went away. Let's hope the specials get released. From the few numbers on this DVD, they look fascinating.
  19. I'd go with *Double Indemnity*, which starts on TCM in about half an hour. B-)
  20. > {quote:title=Daria wrote:}{quote} > Thank you. It's good to be here. > > "It's Always Fair Weather" has never got the notoriety it deserves. All the performances are fantastic. It's too bad that Michael Kidd's number and Gene and Cyd's duo got cut from the theatrical release. Are those 2 numbers available anywhere? On the DVD or in *That's Entertainment! III* ?

A while ago Mitzi's website > had an announcement that they had planned to release all eight of Mitzi's hour long TV specials on to DVD. There hasn't been any mention of it lately. I hope "Razzle Dazzle" isn't simply an edited version of their greater plans. I don't know about that. The DVD is only about an hour long, plus the special features (I didn't watch all of them). Did you check out the screencaps I posted in the other thread?
