Beulah Bondi was in *On Borrowed Time* with Lionel Barrymore

That's a pretty unique story, maggie! I think your son might just grow to like Randolph Scott. And I agree with you about Coop. Welcome to the boards! B-)

The fact that they promote "31 Days of Oscar" so heavily in so many places and publications has always suggested to me that this is an event with which TCM hopes to attract more viewers, get higher ratings, and become a more attractive movie network in the eyes of viewers. In doing so, one can also hope that TCM gains a little bit more clout with which to negotiate with the studio video divisions (like Universal and its library of Universal and Paramount classics) to gain rights to more movies it hasn't been able to show. If this is, in fact, the case, then all they hype around "31 Days of Oscar" should ultimately benefit all of us TCM viewers.

Danke! -
Did anybody watch *My Darling Clementine* on Fox? There's so much great stuff there. One of my favourite exchanges is almost a throwaway: Have you ever been in love? No, I've been a bartender all my life. I remember the first time I watched a clip of that exchange. It was in an Oscar montage or something. I've never forgotten it since.

Here she is looking really young

*My Darling Clementine* just started on the Fox Movie Channel, for those who may be interested. April, that is indeed Dewey Martin in *The Big Sky*

Oh I wasn't talking about buying it, but renting it.

That's a great anecdote, Jackie! B-)

For those at home right now... Fox Movie Channel is playing *My Darling Clementine* at 10am ET today. B-) -
Maybe Veronica just needed the right director. I think she was very fine in *Sullivan's Travels*, and *I Married a Witch*. She also did a good job (imho) in *So Proudly We Hail!*

Well I'm about to embark on the last leg of my *Pink Panther* marathon, watching the 70's sequels. It seems for some reason, MGM/UA HV doesn't control the rights to *Return of the Pink Panther*, so it's the only movie that is not included in the "Ultimate PP Collection". Luckily I had no trouble finding a copy for rental. Funny thing, today I saw an ad on a bus for "The Pink Panther 2*, the imaginatively-titled sequel to the Steve Martin remake. Martin is usually a great comedian, but I don't think he's been able to fill the shoes of the great Peter Sellers, his great talent nonwithstanding. I almost wish he hadn't taken the part.
