I enjoyed these Creature Features Thursday Night Marathons they did back in May 2017. I hope they do these again, but it did leave me wanting to see some of these films remastered in widescreen and in HD. I realize some like Tarantula and The Deadly Mantis are Universal Properties, but hopefully Universal can get cracking on remastering these films for blu-ray and hopefully for later cable and satellite airings on TCM. :)

  2. I'm surprised we haven't found out by now. I am wondering if they're going to do another group one, like the character actors, covering an assortment of horror stars. It might be a way to finally honor Bela Lugosi around Halloween.

Last October the honoree was Christopher Lee. I suppose they could go with Peter Cushing this time around.

I'll update the thread title when we get word.

I agree that Bela Lugosi should get honored as SOTM for October 2017. TCM seems to have quite a few of his films either via the public domain(the Monogram Pictures titles) or ones MGM owns like Mark of The Vampire. Then Bela did some Universal Films such as Dracula and Son Of Frankenstein along with some like The Raven and The Black Cat. TCM would have to license the Universal ones from Universal Pictures,so don't know if that would be a problem or not. However I would love a Bela Lugosi SOTM marathon! I enjoyed the Vincent Price one that was done 2 or 3 years ago on TCM around Halloween. It's time for Bela to get SOTM! :)

I'm glad stars like Lon Chaney Sr. and Elvis Presley made it into the Summer Under The Stars marathon. I hope Vincent Price is the backlot pick for August 20th. I know his films were shown in a previous year's Summer Under The Stars marathon, but it would still be nice to have another Vincent Price movie marathon.

  4. I am so mad that once I finally get expanded cable which was AT&T Broadband they replace TCM with Fox News. So for now the only classic movie channel I get is AMC which airs

cut and edited for t.v. versions of film along with commercials. As soon as I get the money I'm going to which to a cable provider that carries TCM.
