I liked this one the best on your new list here Arturo, and because I've always said the movie title you've played off of here is THE worst movie ever made.
(...and makes even "Plan 9 from Outer Space" almost look like a masterpiece in comparison)
I totally agree, although both are campy fun due to their badness.
The thing about Asta is that he was quite versatile, and was equally believable whether in sci-fi, horror, noir, romantic comedy or musicals. Like Tor, he could do it all.

A LETTER.TO THREE WOLVES
In which three male wolves, on a hunting party, receive a letter from Asta, the wire terrier they all loathe, informing them that he has run of with one of their wives, although he maliciously does not mention which. The film.goes into a series of flashbacks, as each wolf has time to reflect about his relationship with his mate.
Number One realizes that his youthful wife, still wet.behind the ears when they met and mated, was too eager to please, jumping all over his face, licking and drooling mightily. He realizes he might've been too severe is his demonstations of disapproval.
Number Two reflects on the fact that his mate was.never happy with the "bacon" he would bring home. She always yearned for more choice cuts of caribou, not the hares and voles he tended to provide. She decided to be the primary supplier of food for the family, thereby rendering him feeling emasculated.
Number Three saw that his mate had wanted to move up the pack hierarchy, hoping to get an alpha male. She used all her wiles to entrap him, seeing him as her ticket up, and despite his resistance, eventually gave in and struck a bargain. Neither is sure of their true feelings for each other.
The three.return to the pack eagerly if apprehensively. To their surprise, Asta has taken all three female wolves, and has established himself as Alpha male in a pack of his own. Hey ho.

THE [..] OF ASTAWICK
In which our nattily dressed hero and three feminine friends relocate from New York to a staid New England hamlet. Before long the randy goings-on between them are scandalizing the villagers. Soon Asta and his sorceresses are using their magical wiles to cause havoc and unnatural urges among the formerly quiet canines of the burg. The townsfolk are shocked by the turn of events, and the position of town dog.catcher is suddenly opened, and proves to have the highest paid salary in the county.-

My sources tell me that they were all set to do TOR TO ALASTA but the dorg looked at Henry HASTAway, the director, in a peculiar canine way. After considerable effort they arrived at a translation. "If you think I'm gonna freeze my ASTA off up there ..." So they got John Wayne. Tor's feelings about it cannot properly recorded here on account of the autosenselessor. Just as well. It would probably crash (or is that a good thing).
If.I.remember.correctly,.they first.costarred in THE PRIZEFIGHTER AND LADDIE.

Just from reading YOUR post, I thought you meant Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Arnold Ziffel was so much more well-mannered and, dareisayit, genteel than our boorish ex goverator. Plus he was a better actor, with a more natural way of reading a.line of dialogue.

How was it? I slept too late for the matinee and didn't want to go for the evening show. I'm going to try for Wed.
I went to Vegas for the weekend, and got home too late (actually too tired) for the 7 pm showing. So I too plan to go.on Wednesday after work.

Yes I would. Despite the lack of chemistry between the stars, I like them individually. Plus there is Joan Blondell at her effervescent best.

I'm debating (the 12.50 price tag is a little steep for something I've seen dozens of times). Would love to see it with an audience and on a big screen (and hopefully people who haven't seen it who'll scream!) so I'm leaning towards going......
Its playing this Sun and next Wed....
I'm planning to go. I like seeing classic films on the big screen, and try to go to as many of these showings as I can.

With the recent showing of Abbott and Costello, it heartens me in that TCM may have access to more Universal films in the future. It would be great if they could show Maria Montez films, as well as Yvonne DeCarlo films and others, showing this type of exotic entertainment. I loved them as a child, and would enjoy seeing them again

Demetrius and the Gladiators is truly a guilty pleasure. Jay Robinson is a hoot and don't forget Michael Rennie, Debra Paget and Ernest Borgnine who try to bring a wee bit of dignity to the proceedings.
Anne Bancroft also has a role,.during her early starlet days at 20th Century Fox, and looks quite beautiful, if not having too much to do.

There was some double entendre dialogue in PHFFT! (or however it's spelled), some exchange between Jack Lemmon and Kim Novak over being in tight spaces.
