  1. I can't watch that either. Sap content is just too high for me.
  2. Yes. And he'd let people beat him up without resistance. He was dispirited.
  3. Maybe if you'd put on some clothes, Fred. Sitting there at your keyboard in the nude and all.
  4. Nothing new about a-holes winning awards. Especially in show biz (and politics)
  5. I don't know why you're so upset. None of your posts were reported that I can remember. TB kept reporting me, and others, so often that I eventually decided he needed to learn that any two can play that game. Your posts may be often hateful, but as long as you're not reporting others I think we can live with it. You're what we think of as a "character" around here.
  6. I remember when they were little - two of them playing one part on 'Full House' - I'd see them together on the Carson show. It looked kind of chilling - the way they'd sit there staring at him, answering together in unison. I remember one reviewer referring to them on one appearance, saying ,"Last night Carson had........ and those demonic Olsen twins".
  7. I wouldn't charge much if they wanna make me one. Probably wouldn't be a good thing, though - I'm pretty sure the power would go right to my head.
  8. It's just that the ones who can't really act worth a sh!t - like Kim Novak, for example - may not feel they have the option of anything but trying to keep going for the romantic lead roles. It may be that being a "movie star" rather than an actor makes for a precarious decision-making process.
  9. Studio execs....... those are the guys you respect so much, aren't they.
  10. Wash off all that face paint and they're still pretty.
  11. While it may not be the nicest thing to talk about, it is a fact of life that we all "age badly" if we live long enough. Some are blessed with good gene's that see them through longer (generally) than others, and some engage in life-choices that greatly diminish the length of time that outward beauty is theirs - and it may not be the nicest thing about us that we like to gossip about these special people who filled our silver screens - but I don't think it's all that unfair. Most of those in the studio era are passed now, and anyway, it's all part of the deal - they get wealth, fame and privilege from the attention we give and we get to talk about them.
  12. Everyone in that was terrific - but for me, the one who "stole" the movie was Jon Korkes. We howled at that guy!
  13. Great movie. Me and my "frat" buds were all over the movie repeatedly. (re " - I didn't actually go to college, but I did share a house with a few other guys for a couple of years.)
  14. It's every bit as strong as saying that women can't direct war movies.
  15. I think if it was for smoking, there'd be a lot more support for him. It's more like kicking someone out of the room for speaking about something that isn't on his agenda today.
  16. Over the past few weeks, there've been several (maybe many) posts that have been removed after I've reported them as the trollings they were. Seems unlikely that he's an actual moderator. However, I don't think there's much doubt that he's inculcated an ongoing communicative relationship with administration.

  18. Since the upgrade happened, I've found the response to reports to be somewhat of an improvement over past years. Nevertheless, that last sentence (about fools and aggravation) is easy to relate to. Not that some fools can't be entertaining sometimes.
  19. They were called the Redcoats I think! That was a pretty good one.
  20. I saw 'The sure Thing' once, back in the 80's. I remember just one scene - to do with shot-gunning a can of beer. I know I enjoyed it - it had its charm - but little else about it. Gonna record it tonight and give it another look.
