  1. I can't tell if you're supporting what I said or not. Obviously it's "unfair and exclusionary". So we agree, right? and yet I sense some kind of sarcasm and annoyance here, directed as much at me as at the OP.

You did read my original post on this thread, didn't you, fi?

I don't think it was directed at you really. It just kinda came out that way. I don't think I've ever seen finance so worked up about anything before.

  2. I think it's ok to say that you don't think a thread is important, even if it is important to someone else. Disagreement is ok. Certainly no one can claim an air of graciousness, the way this thread has been going!  I think that's ok -- there are heated arguments here. But to paraphrase Edward G. Robinson in Little Caesar slightly, "if you can dish it out, you should be able to take it!"

And you feel that Helen was "dishing it out", do you?

  3. what about darkblue, SansFin, lavenderblue, Vautrin, slayton

The main thing is he was sure to put his own name on the list, no doubt to make it easier for the majority to choose him as the favorite poster in our forums.

He didn't put SansFin on the list - but Big Bopper is right there near the top!! What a riot!

  4. In that vien, I recommend a film from the '90's called TRAPPED IN PARADISE.

Nicholas Cage, Dana Carvey and John Lovitz, of all people, play a trio of brothers, known for their felonious past, robbing a bank in a small town called Paradise and the comic "Murphy's law" situations that occur in the aftermath.

There IS a level of SAP content to it, but it IS a pretty funny movie regardless, with a brilliant comic turn by character actor  Richard Jenkins as an FBI agent.

The bank robbery sequence is hilarious!

My favorite Christmas movie! Just ahead of 'Christmas Vacation'.

    Dana is priceless.

  5. Try this bit 'o' advice from the venerable WILL ROGERS:

When asked for his opinion of the trend of young female "socialites" to smoke CIGARS in public, Rogers offered the advice of---

"If y'all just simply ignore 'em, and don't give 'em the attention they're looking for by doing so, they'll soon give it up!"

As was often the case, Rogers had no idea what he was talking about.

Abusive types never just stop - unless they're made to realize they have to.

  6. darkblue is right. You belong here. You are missed here. Irregardless of how the other person feels. IMHO, as long as you do not communicate with him directly I'd say you should be fine. Plus, no one has the right to tell others what to write, how to write, or where to write.

Just don't call him names and it'll be fine.

primosprimos has been calling me The Little Buddy for nearly a week. I'm not going to stand for it as it's demeaning.

For those who are curious about its origin, it started with a pm I received from her this past Monday, accusing me and TopBilled of being one and the same person. Really - she said that. She thinks I'm a sock puppet of TopBilled. She then began, in the forums, to call TopBilled "The Skipper" and me "The Little Buddy".

I've asked her nicely about 6 times now to please stop calling me that.

The final time I'll ask was a few posts below. Her response was to repeat the demeaning name sneeringly.

Not a nice personality on that one.

  7. Like I said, with Raquel Welch on the set, who needs dialogue?

That movie played my neighborhood theater where I was an usher back in '67. One of the other ushers would stand at the top of the aisle watching and drooling every night at the bare-legged, gams-gifted Raquel as she trudged around in that dumb picture. He was s-m-i-t-t-e-n.

He told me several times about how "she's perfect". He couldn't stop saying it.

  8. While a list of contenders is surprisingly large (some are mentioned here), for me the prize goes to THE CREEPING TERROR (1963?). You gotta love a movie where a slow moving quilt from outer space slithers along causing havoc to the countryside around Lake Tahoe. It even manages to eat many of the attendees of a record hop in a school gym.

That one was featured on MST3K. The comments made during the dance scenes were as side-splittingly funny as anything I've ever heard.

  9.

Not a problem, and thanks, that's what happens when you google Yiddish and don't use it correctly. I'm betting the two meshuganas understood.

    1. mishegas

Insanity or craziness. A meshugener is a crazy man. If you want to insult someone, you can ask them, ”Does it hurt to be crazy?”

Hey, I thought you found referring to anyone as "crazy" to be all offensive-like.

Ahh, never mind. I don't find it nearly as debilitating to hear it as you seem to.

  10. But we know that Bopper is not relaxed about what he feels is happening to him. Also, if you consider abuse and bullying a form of entertainment, then we are in serious disagreement.

You're the only true bully I see in these forums. I'm pretty sure you're entertaining to yourself.

  11. I feel you need a time out from the boards. You seldom post on-topic, and you seem to target certain posters daily. It's disgusting behavior, and I will continue to pray for the improvement of my fellow man. I don't like seeing this happen. I wish someone would reach out to you before it's too late.

Pray all you want. But please do not bless me in these forums any further. It's offensive to me religiously and will be reported if you do it again.

  12. I feel your above post is in error. Bopper's recent thread about rubbish is evidence of user discontent. Also, in another thread a few days ago, Bopper registered concern that his posts were being misquoted and used against him. He explicitly asked others to stop quoting him and several did not comply and kept quoting him. So my guess is that he is not having a good time here. And I am fairly certain there are others who are staying away and posting less because of the negative atmosphere.

Now why would anyone take the entertainment on these boards that seriously. I think most people are way more relaxed than that. I'm pretty sure Bopper's just goofin' around.
