I'm genuinely surprised at the HATE some have in HERE...a "Classic movie" forum, for IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE.
Well, the thread title did ask us what Christmas movie we find irritating. Not sure about "all the HATE" you're referring to.
But, as I indicated in my only post, the sap content is a little too high for me. Different people like different amounts of syrup. Some of us have diabetes you know.*
* think about THAT, Dargo - when you talk about people having defective hearts.

Did you ever see Woody Allen's SCENES FROM A MALL?
Did you ever see SCTV's 'Scenes from an Idiot's Marriage'? Love that one.
Here it is:

Yeah, BILL COSBY!!!
(...well, not taking into account his recent "personal issues" anyway)
Can't help but remember his old childhood street game:
Buck-Buck number one comin' in!!
Buck-Buck number two comin' in!!
Buck-Buck number three...

I am surprised, quite frankly, that so many people are saying the message boards are a positive experience when there is evidence to suggest that there is a lot of unrest and unpleasantness in various threads...
What evidence is there of that?
I think we're all having a pretty good time here.

I vote for West Bank Arabs.

13 (16?) votes per poll results. Not many considering how members there are and how long the poll has been up. Also, is there any way to limit how many times a person can vote? Or how many forums he can vote for? My local paper conducts polls on its website and every time you log in, you get to vote again. Sometimes you don't even have to log in again.
I imagine a lot of people come here just to see what people other than the OP are posting.
Regardless, it is statistically pretty much an invalid and unreliable poll.
As I said before, IF this type poll is warranted, it should be conducted and constructed by the Administrators. I'm sure they could do a much better job.
Doesn't mean it can't be fun (if the question asked is a fun one).

Wonder what it says about those of us who immediately recognized the And vs. In error and knew what the In movie was? Wide ranging knowledge of cinema?
It means when I watch porn, it's classic porn.

I think you're overplaying the feelings get hurt card.
HE'S overplaying it!!

BUT, ya see, THIS is what makes ND an admirable guy in a way...he seems to always KNOW his opinions can sometimes be presented in a somewhat negative manner and that they seem occasionally ill-thought through, BUT when he's called on it, HE doesn't get his feelings hurt and seems to always "play along"!
I have seen him go to "I'm not as expert as you guys" a couple of times, but yeah - he does recover well enough to say something else that'll start the "fun" up again.

This thread has reached over 1100 views. I would like to see some of the other posters start polls that can foster our discussions of classic films.
Not that this one did.
But better questions might.

The firecracker scene in 'Boogie Nights' almost gave me a nervous breakdown.
Here's an oral history of that movie:

They might appreciate a change to a Mediterranean climate.
I think they'd appreciate the work.

it probably doesn't matter if the roles are played by Eskimos or Swedes.
I vote for Eskimos.

Don't you mean groinal area?

Strange thing. With the sun shinning through the blinds and leaning back in my chair, the professor's eyes look like the the childrens' eyes in Village of the Damned. Hmmm.
Very rational. Now start working on the radio and the raft.
We'll need more coconuts.

What enemies?
The only enemies I have are trollings. You know, like what you provide in copious quantity.

Nobody is forcing you to read my posts. Let's be a bit friendlier and a bit more positive. That's not too much to ask, is it?
More puke inducement.

I have been posting on over a dozen forums for over 10 years and this one is the first where I have received a complaint about being "rude" for disagreeing with the poster or been reported.
We are privileged to house one of the worst cry-babies we'll ever experience.

Now Dargo-- I did catch it. But I was focusing on the positive. I do see Nipkow as being a mostly positive-minded poster, especially when it comes to Svengoolie. Right? There is no need to create more tension and negativity. Thanks.
It's posts like this that cause the greatest tension. Turns stomachs too.

What if we got rid of General Discussions board altogether?

Please don't "bless" me any more. Using benedictions for evil is greatly offensive to my religion.
