The moderating was quite moderate until recently. Someone clearly said something to someone. Hey, maybe someone wrote a real complainy letter to management or something.

Deathtrap and The Verdict are available at my library, so I won't be recording those. I will be recording the other 3, but I had to erase Running on Empty last time because it was edited - so here's hoping for a different result this time.

A Movie Everyone Else Loves But You Just Don't It.

I wasn't going to come back into this thread again - but then I saw your name as the last poster and changed my mind. Wanted to see what you'd said. Now I'll go again. I hate threads like this. -
Another great track from Our Lady Peace's 'Naveed'.
-
Another Canadian (Toronto) group - this one formed in the 90's. This track is taken from their debut album of 1995 called 'Naveed' (still the best album they ever made, in my opinion).

Probably came from the two being in the same vicinity so often.

you go, girl!

I've known many women who have a tendency to exaggerate greatly - especially if they have even the smallest axe to grind.

The hidden gem of the month for me is 'Steelyard Blues' (1973). Jane Fonda, Donald Sutherland, Peter Boyle, Howard Hesseman, John Savage. It's scheduled for 9:30 on a Monday morning. Just another reminder that I have to go over the schedule with a fine-tooth comb to make sure I always catch these rarely-shown 70's oddities.

Sinatra month and still no 'Johnny Concho' (1956)? Guess we're never gonna see that one again.

I watched it every Friday evening - enjoyed the British scenes the most. Remember vividly that Dennis Waterman was profiled in TV-Guide and as I was eagerly reading it that very Friday before the show came on, was crushed to read a section that said Dennis was enjoying the opportunity for exposure to American audiences and then in an asterisked add-on by TV-Guide's editor that "unfortunately for Mr. Waterman, the show has recently been announced as not returning next season". Watching that Friday was a very down experience after reading that. Seemed so ironic to find out the show had been cancelled at the very same moment it was highlighted for a TV-Guide article.

Goodness, gracious, that's a lotta hate. -
Yeah, you kind of have to have the voice of a high-pitch weasel to match Robert Plant's Led Zep songs.
-
Yeah, Morrison was an okay singer, DGF. Probably every bit as good as Bing Crosby.

You'd lose. Would you ever!

So would I - if need be.

"Crust" brings to mind the term "sand". You'd hear it in westerns - for example, "You got sand to come walking in here, I'll give you that". Guess it meant courage.

I get such a pang of nostalgia when I watch - or even think of - 'Route 66'. That world of the early 60's seemed almost perfect in its growing liberalism, it's optimistic future, its car coolness. Sure, I know being 12, 13, 14, has a lot to do with my perception of that time in America, but I guess that's what nostalgia is. I liked Milner very much in that series. Didn't care for Adam-12 one bit.

HITS & MISSES: Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow on TCM
darkblue replied to Bogie56's topic in General Discussions
'The Tin Drum' was at last released in the director's cut a few years back - runs about 20 minutes longer. Info page indicates this is not what TCM will be showing tonight, but maybe the page is wrong. We can hope. An article I read said the director's cut is a richer experience. -
Romantic movie "happy endings" that made you want to scream
darkblue replied to skimpole's topic in General Discussions
I remember that movie - though I saw it just once. I remember it because I found LaPaglia so interesting in that role - he seemed more likeable than usual. Now I know the name of it - thanks. -

Another track from 'Uncut' by The Powder Blues Band
