HITS & MISSES: Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow on TCM

It was also turned into a weekly series for television - I think around '66. Starred Roy Thinnes as Ben Quick. Although it lasted only a season, I liked it a lot. Never missed an episode. -

Have you ever tried Rich's brand "CoffeeRich"? Do they have that in the U.S.? -
Well, it doesn't have to be said. You coulda just thought it.

I remember it - saw it 2 or 3 times back in the 70's. Rights issues. The scourge of every film fan.

Hooray - the links are working again! -
Wow. I hadn't clicked on this topic since last evening! I see a whole bunch of abusive posts have been removed. Sincere thank you to moderator1. It was getting so sickening I actually couldn't take anymore and had to leave my keyboard for a few hours. Excellent cleaning job.

I'd think reading the boards would be far more helpful. And more interesting for them as well.

Me go into the ocean? No thanks. There's a million things in there I don't wanna meet.

As long as we're talking about Chandler's "Philip Marlowe", what Marlowe movie do you like better than 'The Long Goodbye'?
-
I noticed that mistake as well - last week. Still haven't fixed it, huh?

Couldn't disagree more. I find her terrifically entertaining. I like her partnership with Julie Kavner - they do some great sketches together. -
HITS & MISSES: Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow on TCM

I have a buddy who names that as his all-time favorite movie. He's watched it so many times - I'm talking at least a hundred times - he now just falls asleep immediately after it begins. It's become some kind of comfort blanket. -
My mother reminded me of a hobbit. She was very short, and quite pale with red curly hair.

Today's recording will be of 'From the Terrace' (1960) for me. Saw it way back in the early 60's - can't remember if it was any good. But with Newman, Woodward, Ina Balin and George Grizzard, it's worth taking a chance on. -
I have no problem with the ending.
-
LOVED the novel. The movie is just ok. Decent shark for 1975.

Watched 'The Shawshank Redemption' (1994) Sunday evening. It's only the 2nd time I've watched it, and as is often the case with movies, had more appreciation for it the 2nd time. It is the highest rated movie of all-time on IMDb, I believe. A score of 9.4. Personally, I don't think it's THAT good, but it is very compelling.

Works for me. First time took a full minute or so to load, but now it comes up very quickly.

Just for Dargo, I think I'll start spelling it heurb.

Saw 'The Pyx' once, way back when. All I remember is Karen Black's legs for some reason. I think she was wearing fishnets or something like that. I know it was a supernatural type mystery too, but can't recall anything about the actual plot.
