  1. You don't have too long to wait, lol! *Sean Penn*
  2. After the recent turn of events, I bet good money they now regret casting Lindsey Lohan. How sad. Ironically she now looks like about everyone else in the orange jump suit. Edited by: hamradio on Jul 8, 2010 1:22 PM
  3. Here is a look a like list you might be interested in. http://www.denofgeek.com/movies/143688/top_150_actors_that_resemble_each_other.html Its this one movie "Little Miss Marker", in which I think that the actor Charles Bickford looked a lot like Richard Widmark. There was an episode of "Cops" last week, that a person involved in a family dispute was a *dead ringer* for Goerge Clooney. When they remade the movie "The Parent Trap", I wondered why they didn't used actual twins or look a likes instead of camera tricks that to me ruins the movie. Studios being too cheap? C'mon chip in a few extra bucks Hollywood.

  5. Bad enough? The funny thing is that the second photo is of a "normal", Larry Fine. Never realised until now how nice lookig he really was. :|
  6. Does this count? After seeing that photo of Patrick Stewart, maybe its time for a *No Hair Thread.* Yul Brenner
  7. *Cousin It* -+cousin[/i]it+w+dog.jpg]
  8. The 2 women in "The Munsters - The Most Beautiful Ghoul in the World" (1966) oh yes ole Weird Al, lol.
  9. To date my favorite has been those 2 news anchors in the movie "Batman" (1989) after the Joker tampered with the cosmetics. Recently Nicolas Cage cage[/i]hairwonderconapril+2010.jpg] Was a little tough getting use to this hair style at first, lol.
  10. John Travolta is also an aviator. He sure looks better behind the cockpit than the big screen nowadays.
  11. Some posters might be afraid to reply because the first to come to mind is too easy. Ronald Reagan turned to politics and became president. (R.I.P. you were great ) Shirley Temple and George Murphy also got into politics. About Ronald Reagan, I was thinking about what Doc said in "Back to the Future" to Marty, no wonder your president is an actor, he has to look good on television. Jack Nicholson once worked in the mailroom at MGM before he got noticed. About Paul Newman you mentioned, I love his salad dressing. Edited by: hamradio on Jun 29, 2010 10:17 PM
  12. Lets not forget the old television classic "The Flying Nun" starring Sally Field.
  13. "Mutant 59, The Plastic Eaters" a sci fi novel by Kit Pedler and Gerry Davis Published 1972. The plot is a lab generated mutant strain of bacteria got accidently flushed down the drain and got into the worlds ecosystem. *Everything* that is made out of any type of plastic is consumed by the Mutant 59 strain. Try to imagine your TV sets, wiring insulation, gas pipes and everything else across the board starts to melt and dissolve before ones own very eyes. All mode of transportation comes to a grinding halt, power grids totally collapsed. Imagine your laptop melt in your lap like a Hershey bar in Death Valley. In other words the world got thrown back to the 19th century due to this germ. This novel could also be a warning, don't even think of making a biological agent to decompose plastics in our landfills. It won't stay in the landfills. http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/d/gerry-davis/mutant-59.htm Edited by: hamradio on Jun 28, 2010 12:46 PM
  14. patful, thanks very much for that info, the actual send/receive rate is slower then reported but I do get these pages to load much faster then before. The Robotics modem does have a chip that can be written to and I was thinking somehow the Supra Express driver somehow accessed it (only a guess). TikiSoo, I only have dialup, it at present suits my needs, I use the internet mainly for Ebay (which I am mainly done with - got what I needed) and to get misc parts, download diagrams and other electronic info. This forum is the only one I am on. My computer does not have any type of wireless connection and the expansion slots are filled beside wireless would be little use on a 355MHZ machine. The benefit of dialup is that I know if an intruder is trying to gain access by watching the status lights. So far since I've been on the internet, I have not had a single hack. My antivirus and AdAware has kept my computer virus/trojan free. Maybe also since I don't surf the web, that has kept me out of trouble. I learn from other peoples mistakes. My home has the old X10 Powerhouse system and I use dialup even on that to turn off and on devices while I'm at work. Great low cost little gadgets.
  15. Frances McDormand who played Miss Clavel in "Madeline" (1998). She was quite witty when the fake teacher asked her What do you do on your time off? , she replied I pray.. Only an idiot would try to go on a date with a nun.
  16. If I die, I'll die happy. I took this snapshot shortly after my last post.
  17. Or a diamondback with baby rattle http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9LzeDg8z-M Love this! LOL!
  18. I am lost for words in that I at present am working at a dialup speed that suppose to be impossible. Let me explain, earlier today I temp hooked up a 56K Supra Express USB modem to test it on this computer. On the other computer it worked at the max speed approx 48,200. The modem I normally use on this machine is a US Robotics V.92 56K modem on the serial port. Its max speed has always been about 38,000. After I used the USB modem, I disconnected it and reboot my computer later on today but forgot to reset my dialup properties. Here is where it gets interesting, somehow the USB driver for the Supra Express somehow made a serial port connection to the US Robotics modem at the double speed of *115,200.* This speed suppose to be impossible for a 56K modem. Can anyone explain what happened? I have NEVER seen this TCM page load so fast!! At present I am Edited by: hamradio on Jun 27, 2010 9:20 PM
  19. For the 1997: "You make me want to be a better man", *As Good As it Gets*
  20. I think it also reflected the *status* of the Romans compared to people way down the ladder. Highly unlikely they would have dressed people ready for the slaughter in their finest togas. Edited by: hamradio on Jun 27, 2010 3:23 PM
  21. I just thought the quality of the color tones within the walls of the theatre was as important as the quality of the color of the movie. This is the *first* thing you see.
  22. I like to comment on my old downtown theatre before it closed up. It had a (to me) a neutral color scheme that did not distract anyone from viewing movies. It had alternating dark green and yellow wall curtains and cylinder type of wall lights that were adjustable. The carpet and seat covers blended in very well. It had a very LARGE movie screen and gave anyone who sit up close great peripheral view of the movie. Its a shame the old fashion movie palaces are *gone.* I hate my local drab mall cinemas
  23. Let the Festivities Begin? Let's Get This Party Started? Veronique, not much excitement in your life is there? LOL!
  24. PrinceSalaino wrote: << YOURS, MINE AND OURS >> I got to thinking about you spin on that title and that could actually work as a dark retelling of the classic. The plot would go like this. The time is set around 1917 with a widow with a lot of kids who lost her husband in a coal mine accident married a widower wiho also has a lot of kids, fell in love and married. The bulk of the family wound up working in the local coal companies mine. Chances are that could had actually happened.
