  1. An artistic point of view for "Night Tide". Yes a bit surreal. *Night Tide* by Patrick Thompson
  2. For some reason I am at present getting a strange craving for a tuna sandwich.
  3. I just saw the commercial for "In Cold Blood" (1967) on TCM starring *Robert Blake.* Did this movie actually came true? (OJ it if you like.)
  4. Jacques Cousteau vs Jacques Clouseau ? Just had an idea for a comedy, "The Bumbling Undersea World of Jacques Clouseau".
  5. Even the TCM iPhone app don't give you streaming video. If they did, I can't imagine watching TCM on an eye squinting 4" screen. http://mashable.com/2010/01/15/tcm-iphone-app/ Nothing beats television for me.
  6. Don't feel too bad, there are some posters who thinks today is a bad day to simply watch TCM. (not me though).
  7. Showing Jacques Cousteau is a bit off the beaten path for TCM but I do like that they are airing it. It brings back a lot of memories of the 1960's when I was young, I never remember seeing it this vivid before (old MATV and television I guess). It does show back when the ocean didn't have oil in the water. Hearing Rod Serling narrating it is a bit uncanny, some old TCM fans must really think *they* are now in "The Twilight Zone"... LOL! What does TCM have planned for next year, "Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom"?
  8. Anyone who plays Marie Antoinette I've never seen a 2 story hairdo before hair[/i]atJeanPaulGaultierHaute+Couture.jpg] But for a beautiful hairdo there is Keira Knightley.in "The Dutchess". Edited by: hamradio on Jun 9, 2010 1:14 PM
  9. Leaves me to wonder what ever happened to the shark in "Megalodon"?
  10. *That was FAST, LOL!* This is what happens when "Jaws" got de-throned by *Orca* now king of the sea. I just watched "The Whale that Ate Jaws" last night and was amazed. A killer whale attacked and killed *without effort* a great white shark and ate its liver leaving the rest for the birds. ALL of the remaining sharks in the area fled in terror. HA, Jaws not so tough anymore is he? "Orca vs Jaws", sorry Hollywood, mother nature beat you to it this time. http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/series/nature-untamed/4669/Overview Edited by: hamradio on Jun 7, 2010 8:40 PM Fixed typo.
  11. Will they make a movie about the great fight between Tinman and C3PO? I heard the Tinman wiped the floor with him. The Cowardly Lion was the referee. http://fashionablygeek.com/t-shirts/the-tin-man-vs-c-3po-robot-fisticuffs/
  12. CK quoted: << Elizabeth Taylor has been married eight times to seven men. Her last union -- a five-year marriage to construction worker Larry Fortensky -- ended in 1996.>> Calls into question does Liz knows what love is? :| I rather read the stories of people who knows what *love* really is. http://www.semissourian.com/story/1610527.html Been married over 50 years!
  13. Glad *Metropolis* is not taking *forever!* For those few who get the pun, hope I didn't give you a heartattack!
  14. HA! I just listened to "The O'Reilly Factor" on the FOX News Channel and Bill said James Cameron will send Leonardo DiCaprio down to cap the well. I was thinking we could used that futuristic technology in "The Abyss". If we had that deep ocean underwater lab in the movie, they could just placed the entire thing over the well and let the oil come up through the diving port located at the bottom of the lab. Just pipe the oil from the lab to the surface.
  15. I found the perfect birthday present for Clint Eastwood or does he already have one. http://www.popularmechanics.com/outdoors/recreation/1277336
  16. So in other words, this version of "Robin Hood" robs from the patrons and gives to the poor.
  17. Clint Eastwood will make our day later tonight with "Dirty Harry" and "Magnum Force".
  18. As Jackie Gleason use to say back then How sweet it is!
  19. My goodness, only on a TCM forum can the world of Jacques Cousteau become heated. I hate to see a discussion about "Shark Week". Edited by: hamradio on May 31, 2010 12:10 AM Protected photo again, grrrrr!
  20. A British TV series I like is called "Keeping Up Appearances". It was shown a few years ago on my local PBS station and was quite funny. The plot was an actress Patricia Routledge as an eccentric, social-climbing snob Hyacinth Bucket (she pronounced it *Bouquet* ). I've seen every episode. The casting was perfect! Mrs and Mr Bucket Bouquet Lol!
  21. What an awful past 24 hours!! This makes 3 people we all know who has past away. Yes, what baby boomer could forget the "Art Linkletter Show" and especially "The Art Linkletter House Party"! That was the days when kids were *kids*. How I miss that time! RIP Mr. Linkletter, my mom loved your show.
  22. About the subject of sci fi, so far the coolest submarine I have seen either in the movies or TV series is called *Skydiver*. It is part interceptor and submarine in which the interceptor is launched from underwater - very neat. To date, no one has come close to actually doing this and no Hollywood movie has top it. There is one episode in which Skydiver was used for underwater salvage using close circuit TV monitors. Of course some might think "The Hunt for Red October" might tie but the Tyhoon class submarine is just a giant submarine and the magnetohydrodynamic propulsion system has been tried and tested but doesn't work like the idea proposed. Oh well, can't get it right all the time. *Skydiver*
