Zelda Rubinstein, who played psychic in 'Poltergeist,' dies at 76
hamradio replied to edonline's topic in General Discussions
<< Zelda Rubinstein, the diminutive character actress with the childlike voice who was best known as the *psychic* >> And she didn't saw that coming. I guess she's "short-sighted". I think the Munchkins are nice people in "The Wizard of Oz", they didn't have a hangup over playing the role. Some even had great memories of making the movie. Would she rather they be unemployed during The Great Depression? Edited by: hamradio on Jan 27, 2010 11:33 PM - Fixed typo -
Its not that people don't call cable companies, they simply *dread* calling them, I mean a lot of them put you on everlasting HOLD. Lets put it this way, a man will have to shave before and after calling certain cable providers. I don't know about your provider but do you have that "I want to talk to someone before I draw my Social Security" type of service? (and I'm also referring to automatic routing - please press 1 for xxx, please press 2 for xxxx - AHHHHGGGGG!!) A lot of people watch TCM otherwise you wouldn't have this forum. Dread the day you get, < TCM.com page is not found > on your web browser. Edited by: hamradio on Jan 27, 2010 7:29 PM OOPS

The IFC Channel shows movies in widescreen at times. I recorded the original "Halloween", unedited in widescreen from IFC last year.

lol, looks like it is for the time being. You should copy or print this page for future reference. These keyboard codes are a time saver and I was hoping other people would have more code sets - the main reason for the thread. There probually are many more but will have unique combinations of keyboard type sets. I like your smiley, what's the keyboard combination?

I subscribed to Starz/Encore about a year ago and they seem to run the same 20 or 30 movies over and over, again and again, month after month. >> I beleive "Armageddon" and "Die Hard" holds the record for reruns. Could the movie titles have a built in jinx?

Is this thread about repeat movies or repeated movie threads or repeated threads or repeated repeated threads or.....oh shoot I'm repeating myself. Or this can be a case of deja vu.

I don't know if you saw on the NGC Channel, "Nazi Stealth Fighter" but it was more far advance than the Me 262 but was proven to have stealth capabilities against the radar of the era. We built a full scale test replica of it and it blew them away how far ahead of the times they were. The Germans and the Americans had "flying wings" and both were unaware that each side were experimenting with the idea. I have a book "Fighting Jets" by Time-Life books and the Germans had a full scale mockup for wind tunnel test of, beleive it or not, a foward swept wing fighter, not to be seen again until the 1980's The main problem was that they were trying out simply *too many* types of aircraft and didn't focus on what really did work, which was the Me 262. To complicate matter, Hitler deployed the Me 262 as a *bomber* in its early deployment, a role it was not design for. The rebuilt slealth fighter for radar test *Recent Updates:* The Russians have a fully operational foward swept wing fighter similiar to the one you saw in the movie "Stealth". The Sukhoi S 37 Berkut. Don't worry it don't fly at Mach 8 like the one in the movie, thank God. Remember that circular concrete structure the Nazis built that has became famous with UFO-logist with the Nazi "UFO" projects? It turns out it is the base of a water tower in which the tank is simply gone. There is another one just like it in Poland complelely intact. I will never forget the look on those guys face on "UFO Hunters" when they had to accept the fact of that revelation. I will savor that for years to come! And I may be in the minority here, but I always thought (even back in 1982) that having the guns out with a bunch of kids was a bit too much. >> Well to show that fact can be stranger then fiction, have you ever saw that episode of "Cops" in where they forcefully served a search warrent on a motel with guns drawn and told everyone inside to come out with hands up. 2 of them were kids, both looked like under the age of 10 had their hands on the top of their heads. Imagine how traumatic *that is?* The littlest one probually will be having nightmares for a while. Also not to forget how many houses undergo a drug raid with very small children inside. Does anyone as a child going through something like that would think ET be a bit *tame?* This thread would make a nice discussion topic for "The Rollye James Show" on the American Voice Radio Network. I think you want this little guy, lol >> :0 I'm still learning myself, its the number 0 not the letter O or o (leave out the -). Computers takes stuff so literally, think it has to do with the ASCII charactor set. I gave you credit on my Smiley thread for leading me to it. Like your reply.

I never thought Speedy Gonzales was racist, just the opposite. Didn't he always outwit, out smarted his pursurors unless that a "bad quality"?? About the "How are we to learn from the mistakes of the past" comment, how will future generations learn if they see movies like Disney's "Annie" that shows a rewritten view of history. How many of us today don't know the true facts from ancient history .i.e. 1,000 2,000 years ago etc.because the victors always rewrite history only to convey their point of view. This is how myths are created.

I know a lot of people here shun bootleg DVD's but is this one of the very rare reasons we shouldn't complain? If Disney has no intention of ever re-releasing it, *why complain?* Many of these types of old movies are only available this way, mostly from other countries that don't have a hang up over the issue. Political correctness is relagating many movies to the "salt mines". I'm just surprised that Warner Brothers released the 3 disc DVD of "The Jazz Singer" (might be the last). My feeling is, all movies should be released to the general public. If one is disturbed by any part of it, *then don't buy it!* A studio can always sell 2 versions, one original and one edited for sensitive people. Think I didn't notice that the only Sybil Jason movie that was NOT shown on November 23, 2009 was "The Singing Kid". Surprised that TCM didn't air it since they have it in their DVD movie site. Disney is one of the most political correct studios ever, they even rewrote cultural history by placing minority children in an orphanage during the 1930's in their release of "Annie" knowing plainly well segregation was a fact of life during that time period. Talk about creating confusion for future generations. I can just see some kids 50 years from now after watching Disney's "Annie", saying to their parents "I thought they claim segregation was a part of life during the early 20th Century, I just saw a movie that shows this is NOT TRUE. Someone's lying! - I'm so confused." About Starbucks you all must be richer than you all claim. I myself only drink Folgers. Thank you Mrs Olson for saving me a small fortune.

About Goering acting like a child... - BruceGhent If the producers knew back then what we know today, I wonder should we be thankful they didn't show Hitler acting like a *girl!* This is no joke, read this site below about how the "Hitler monster" was created. I guess Hermann Goering was in good company. An excerpt from "The Mind of Adolf Hitler Part II" - Hollywood should make this into a movie. "Klara obviously adored and passionately loved, pampered and shamelessly spoiled her little darling Adolf. Nothing was too good for her little boy! She was indulgent of his every whim (Kubizek). Finally, after the death of at least 3 infants she had her own sweet little baby doll who she could love, kiss and hug, and who would cuddle and love her back. Adolf, however, not only looked like her, she attired him accordingly. Klara delighted in dressing him in frills, white stockings and dresses, and had pictures taken of him in his feminine finery. Adolf looked just like a sweet little girl." To verify http://brainmind.com/Hitler2.html Should the world cry or laugh? :| -

Thats what I was doing with the Smiley Central, copy and paste it to my iPhoto program, save it, and then uploaded it to Tinypic. That is a lot of trouble and I was trying to find a simplier way. I'm going to try 4 keyboard charactors and see what happens, I guess its OK to experiment since this thread deals with it and I won't be tying up other threads. :U ( : + U ) :_ ( : + _ ) :? I just found out that by typing : and ) or : and ( gives me the Emoticon on this forum. What is the typing arrangement for others. I've been using a software plugin from Smiley Central but due to the webpage update, its harder to post.

In this case the statute of limitations stopped running the day he fled the country. This also applies to any felony. People who think all they need to do is commit a crime, go hide in another country and come back when they think its long forgotten is in for an unpleasant surprise. The statute of limitations on statutory rape varies from state to state and it varies on the seriousness of the crime but in certain cases like this if the person does not flee and the authorities do not pursue the open case, that person can walk when time on it expires. An article that you might be interested in http://teenadvice.about.com/od/sexuallyactive/a/statutoryrape1.htm If you think this case is *unfair* it pales to this story. http://www.tressugar.com/3313162 Like I have stated on another thread, I want Polanski to be treated like the average Joe that commited the same crime. His status should be no factor. Simple fair treatment for all!
