  1. Well I'm not crying, matter of fact, I had a nice Halloween week. Just a couple of nights ago on the History Channel, they presented a documentary "The Real Wolfman". Its about the investigation of the famous Wolfman attacks in France during the 1760's. It was very neat.

Spoiler Alert: They came to the conclusion that a village outcast became a serial killer by using a trained African hyena to do the attacks. He finally came to the so called rescue by claiming to shoot the monster with a silver bullet. His story did not add up at all. I learned that hyenas has a jaw pressure of 1,000 pounds - amazing.

I like to add that this poor guy is probually glad that "The Wolfman" with Lon Chaney Jr wasn't shown. Suffering from hypertrichocis. he is using humor in dealing with his condition.

All in all, don't you just love it when fact is stranger than fiction!

    *Happy Halloween !*

  2. In a society of planned obsolescence, the increase sales of Blu-ray should be no surprise. The million dollar question is *when* will a Blu-ray recorder be available? I myself just purchased a DVD recorder and am planning to use it during the holidays.

I will NOT replace any of my VHS tapes (those that I have purchased) until they wear out or malfunction. I still think the quality that standard DVD's and Directv gives me is still great and I don't care to read the fine print on a piece of paper that some actor is holding.

It will be quite some time before I purchase Blu -ray since I am still using a standard TV set. When it finally goes on the fritz, I will still be using my old recording equipment. When they *finally* malfunctions - which I hope be some time off, then I will buy a Blu ray, at that time a recorder might be available.

  3. A movie parody I haven't seen in quite a while is "Student Bodies". It satires serial killer movies. The killer in the movie known as the "Breather" always wore galoshes and kill people with items like a paper clip and an eggplant.

I have heard commentaries about when "Snow White" first premiered, that some children actually wet the seats after seeing the ugly witch, the Evil Queen turned herself into. *Not bad* for a cartoon charactor. That earns her a place in theatrical history.

  5. Well its getting close to Halloween so I ask the question what witches do you think stands out for one reason or another in movies?

    The most memorable

  6. OMG!! I am kicking myself for not remembering this earlier. The movie "Twister", when Jo Harding's Aunt Meg was serving that fantastic steak dinner. Did anyone notice the size of those steaks? Served with mash potatoes and gravy (called a thrid group in the movie).

Serve me something like that, I would think I have died and went to heaven. If that don't cause anyone to give up their diet plan *nothing will!*

  7. All I watch on the Weather Channel is "Local on the 8's". TWC showing movies is no surprise since the History Channel started doing the same thing. (their recent movie was "Unforgiven")

Lets look at it this way, its better TWC show movies than TCM telling us the weather after every movie. I can envision such a scenerio -

<< Tonights forecast for Hollywood - Partly cloudy with a chance of very angry TCM viewers. >>

  8. Soupy Sales is a name I have not heard in over 30+ years. Oh man has it been that long!! He was a great guy. Well you learn something everyday, I always thought "The Soupy Sales Show" was locally produced, but just found out its a New York production. To find out that he was this well known nation wide is fantastic. He brought so many smiles to peoples faces.

My local TV station WSAZ which is located in Huntington, West Virginia just did a nice news report on him. He grew up there and I think some of his family still lives there. WSAZ showed when it all got started out, mostly the pie throwing gag. Its nice to see Frank Sinatra get a pie in the face.

I always associated Soupy Sales with the other locally produced shows like Mr Cartoon (Jule Huffman) and Uncle Willie (Sleepy Jeffers).

I loved his gags, one I still remembered was the door to door salesman, peddling his wares. One item was a photograph of a red colored skeleton, the salesman told Soupy its a photo of Red "Skeleton" Skelton as a child. Lol.

    RIP Soupy!

  9. I have heard this problem so many times with DVR's. Glad now I never bought one! Thank goodness I have my trustee VCR, its never failed me yet.

Sorry to say I can't tell you how it ended, I watched it "live" and found it boring. I turned off my TV just past the Coleman lamp on the ceiling scene and got the BEST sleep I had in a while.

  10. Suffered? How has he suffered? He is not an artist but a prankster that cost taxpayers dollars. I don't think he ever read "The Boy That Cried Wolf" as a child. What happens the next time if one of his kids *really* become missing?

He should support the artistic community and wear this shirt that was created by a *true* artist.
