Think it was used to tell the separate stories. The use there is understandable. Let me emphasis, multi-tint is OK if properly applied.

There were well made films during the 1912 time period i.e. "Falling Leaves". I have never seen a constantly changing multi-tint movie like THAT before. The slightly change of tint in other silents don't stand out so dramatically, generally shifts from near B&W to brown and white. Tinted film suppose to be properly used. Blue to imitate a night scene like in "The Phantom Carriage" Red for fire. Green to reflect the ghoulish atmosphere like in "The Golem". Add injury to insult, the music score the restorationist used is just plain AWFUL!

Wonder was it just as bad? What I gather from Theda's peacock dress, don't think I'm missing anything.

Wasn't referring to history, just the none to be seen ships in the film.

"Cleopatra" (1912) What in the hell did I just watched? This has to be the most poorly produced silent film ever!. Keeps changing the tint which suppose to be to reflect the time of day or scenery i.e. blue is for night. Movie (what a joke) set suited for a high school play. A slave who doesn't know how to use a fan. Extras just standing around with no purpose except being human statues. One of the title cards....Antony ordered his ships to turn around Ships? What ships? And finally the music score, just awful - from weird noises to SINGING! The real Cleopatra is turning over in her tomb! Just to think, this thing was spared nitrate decomp or a worthy fire. Yikes.

That's a bit of a stretch. Thinking about him in the pointed head outfit.

Thread do evolved like this. The "Colossus" movie just should how silly the fear was. Even today no such machine exist. Guess we can add all the "Terminator" films to the mix. (unfounded fear of robots) Need to add another film to this thread , "Tron" (1982) thought also it was the film I only liked. People in my area hated it - couldn't understand it along with the theatre manager! It was the film that peaked my interest into computers. One thing I done on the CoCo that was in "Tron" was to date / time stamp without the End of Line by the MCP. (could had though - just add after the Basic line number...Print "End of Line". )

"Blackklansman" (2019) there is no black Klansman.

No memories for me, still have the upgraded 512K Color Computer III system with the Disto Super Controller / clock board / EPROM burner, 2 - 5 1/4 inch and 2 - 3.5 inch floppy drives. Also the Tandy cassette recorder designed for th CoCo. The controller can switch between RSDOS, CDOS and Extended ADOS. The blue box on the upper right is the Touch on/off control for the Heathkit Touch Controller. Below is the serial/printer port switch.

"Colossus The Forbin Project" was released in 1970. It's plot was centered around the unfounded fear of computers which were huge mainframes that took up an entire building. Radio Shack didn't release their first TRS computer system until 1977. It didn't even have a floppy drive, all software was loaded / saved by cassette. TRS-80 Microcomputer System Model 1 Level 1 The Color Computer is an '80s product along the Sound / Speech Pack. It wasn't easy to use unless one had the optional Multipak Interface that plugged into the right side program pack port (photo below). Had to switch between the floppy drive controller and other devices i.e. the Speech Pack. This was a unique, popular computer system. This was the hard drive during the Colossus time period. Only 5 megabit
