Maybe not. It just happened to be made in 1912. Many silent films have those various tints throughout. I admit they irritating. I used to adjust TV setting to BW to get rid of them. I haven't seen this one but it's possible that referring to something not seen (like the ships) might not be such a shock with a oldie-oldie silent like this. Just an intuition on my part in this case. But generally I wouldn't be asking perfection for a movie that was made in 1912.
There were well made films during the 1912 time period i.e. "Falling Leaves".
I have never seen a constantly changing multi-tint movie like THAT before. The slightly change of tint in other silents don't stand out so dramatically, generally shifts from near B&W to brown and white.
Tinted film suppose to be properly used.
Blue to imitate a night scene like in "The Phantom Carriage"
Red for fire.

Green to reflect the ghoulish atmosphere like in "The Golem".

Add injury to insult, the music score the restorationist used is just plain AWFUL!

I loved your post....especially expressing "sadness" observing incompatible couples. Guess that's really the reason I've been so judgmental of Woody's behaviour.
I was married to a man almost 20 years older and while I was excited to go out & discover the world & everything life offers, he'd say, "Eh, been there, done that." So of course, I think of Soon Yi & Woody in similar terms and feel sad for her. It seems like she's missing out on regular emotional development. But hey, that may have come just from being a celebrity's child.
It's funny because Mr Tiki & I are complete opposites-he's super social, I'm anti-social and it works out great- he's the life of the party and I can retreat in a corner with food/wine and enjoy vicariously!
There's the old expression "opposites attract".

Sorry, ham, but I think you have a photograph of the wrong actress here, for the 1912 version starred Helen Gardner, not Theda Bara (as pictured).
Here's Helen:

The 1917 Bara version of Cleopatra is one of the lost silents, unfortunately (the last print destroyed in a 1930s fire). All we have left from the film are some stills, as well as a few seconds of surviving film:

Wonder was it just as bad? What I gather from Theda's peacock dress, don't think I'm missing anything.

Probably alluding to....
The Battle of Actium was the decisive confrontation of the Final War of the Roman Republic, a naval engagement between Octavian and the combined forces of Mark Antony and Cleopatra on 2 September 31 BC, on the Ionian Sea near the promontory of Actium, in the Roman province of Epirus Vetus in Greece. Octavian's fleet was commanded by Marcus Vipsanius Agrippa, while Antony's fleet was supported by the power of Queen Cleopatra of Ptolemaic Egypt. (Wiki)
Wasn't referring to history, just the none to be seen ships in the film.

I have "Tron Legacy", the one thing bugs the heck out of me in the film. In Flynn's old arcade basement, where is the rest of the laser dematerializer???
I'm referring to...

"Cleopatra" (1912) What in the hell did I just watched?

This has to be the most poorly produced silent film ever!. Keeps changing the tint which suppose to be to reflect the time of day or scenery i.e. blue is for night. Movie (what a joke) set suited for a high school play. A slave who doesn't know how to use a fan. Extras just standing around with no purpose except being human statues.
One of the title cards....Antony ordered his ships to turn around Ships? What ships?
And finally the music score, just awful - from weird noises to SINGING!
The real Cleopatra is turning over in her tomb!
Just to think, this thing was spared nitrate decomp or a worthy fire.
Yikes.

But there is a black man pretending via telephone to be a Klansman, hence the title actually makes sense?
That's a bit of a stretch. Thinking about him in the pointed head outfit.

Oh dear, this isn't going to become the '80s computer thread, is it?
Thread do evolved like this. The "Colossus" movie just should how silly the fear was. Even today no such machine exist.
Guess we can add all the "Terminator" films to the mix. (unfounded fear of robots)
Need to add another film to this thread , "Tron" (1982) thought also it was the film I only liked. People in my area hated it - couldn't understand it along with the theatre manager! It was the film that peaked my interest into computers. One thing I done on the CoCo that was in "Tron" was to date / time stamp without the End of Line by the MCP.
(could had though - just add after the Basic line number...Print "End of Line".

"Blackklansman" (2019) there is no black Klansman.

My first computer was the original Color Computer. I worked at a Radio Shack store at the time. By the time I came to Uncle Tandy in 1980, the original Model I had been replaced by the Model III.
I eventually moved on to the DOS/DeskMate based computers from Radio Shack. I loathed Windows until Windows 95.
Thanks hamradio! Great memories!
No memories for me, still have the upgraded 512K Color Computer III system with the Disto Super Controller / clock board / EPROM burner, 2 - 5 1/4 inch and 2 - 3.5 inch floppy drives. Also the Tandy cassette recorder designed for th CoCo. The controller can switch between RSDOS, CDOS and Extended ADOS. The blue box on the upper right is the Touch on/off control for the Heathkit Touch Controller. Below is the serial/printer port switch.

10 years and 35 years are two completely different things. I was in a relationship with a woman 5 years older than me but that's not even close to the situation with Allen. He's nearly four decades her senior.
How about...

My apologies if I caused anyone to lose their lunch.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Woody gives me strong "creep" vibes, but I try to separate him as a man from him as a director/writer, except with "Manhattan" where he's dating a 17 year old. I like to think of that film as fantasy, because I don't know why any 17 year old girl would date Woody... but maybe that's just me.
For non celebrities people will call it "robbing the cradle".

It is my understanding that the props were an odd mixture of computers which were being manufactured and sold at the time, knobs and switches cannibalized from old computers stuck on boxes and frames made by the prop department and that the studio's actual accounting computer was the centerpiece. It would not surprise me that TRS hardware and software made it into the mix.
"Colossus The Forbin Project" was released in 1970. It's plot was centered around the unfounded fear of computers which were huge mainframes that took up an entire building.
Radio Shack didn't release their first TRS computer system until 1977. It didn't even have a floppy drive, all software was loaded / saved by cassette.
TRS-80 Microcomputer System Model 1 Level 1
The Color Computer is an '80s product along the Sound / Speech Pack. It wasn't easy to use unless one had the optional Multipak Interface that plugged into the right side program pack port (photo below). Had to switch between the floppy drive controller and other devices i.e. the Speech Pack. This was a unique, popular computer system.
This was the hard drive during the Colossus time period. Only 5 megabit

Sadly it's becoming more and more evident that people today barely if at all remember the 2 time legendary *Gary Cooper-(l90l-6l) nobody-(except here & a few other Golden Age sites) never even mention him & if you ask a young so called moviebuffs about him, you get the patented noawadays reply "O, That Was Before My Time" unquote So damn frustrating when I hear that & it's getting worse daily Same goes for W.C. Fields-(l879-l946)& yet *Bogey, *The King: Gable & many others still immensely known & popular are still recalled?
When I first fell in love with THE MOVIES around age 13 to 14 in 1979 I immediately wanted first to know why the likes of a Johnny Carson, Merv Griffin, Mike Douglas in particular would talk about say Citizen Kane, *GWTW, *Casablanca, *The Great: Spencer Tracy-(a phrase Mike kinda started on his tv show) before seeing the new stuff, Apocalypse Now though really out the hook in me as far as going to new cinema I figured you start from the beginning & work your way up
I loath when people say that about "Before My Time" & then cite things like "O Did You See Friday the 13th" that was the best ever??? How shortsighted can one be Had a girlfriend that onl loved blood & guts in movies & loaned her a legit & can occur thriller 1997's The Edge" & The Grey she was bored, but then again she believed the late Anna Nicole Smith was amazing?
Anyway, *Coop has been falling behind now about a decade when they mention the heayweights of that glorious era-(TRIVIA: He was also Hemingway's idea of the perfect male star, for what that matters) I even write a pc ion here a few yrs about it. ****, his grave is far from where any fans would think Sacred Heart, cem in L.I. His fmr house gone, etc) I know somebody who will never forget him *Eastwood. Natter of fact *Clint's top heroes are (*Coop, *Jimmy Stewart & *James Cagney with *John "The Duke" Wayne a 4th hero
It's weird to see *Cooper or any other actor in earliest stages of sound with all the make-up, lipstsrick, etc *Tracy wouldn't have it though He hated make-up, but gave in a couple times Check out earliest still of *Gable, make-up, lipstick, etc when they first saw him in a1920's screen test the producer said "Oh My God, He Looks Like a Damn Ape" unquote
THANK YOU
Take your hands off me you damn dirty ape!

Bela Lugosi was born to fill that role, talk about perfect timing of actor and film.
If Gary Cooper starred in it, not only would patrons demand their money back but want the management take the reels of 35mm film, stack it and drive a sharpen telephone pole through it.

Colossus: The Forbin Project (1970)
I believe that the situation may be that other people do truly like them but will never admit watching such things.
Really like the ending after Colossus sounded EXACTLY like my Color Computer Speech Pack. May explain how the sound effects were done (waveform generators).

"Howard the Duck", people should had known before hand it was a satire NOT a serious sci-fi film. Many saw the name George Lucas...the rest is history.
Maybe if it was titled "Donald the Duck".

Obviously he was joking, exaggerating the age difference for the sake of making a joke and it wasn't funny, obviously you think it was. I don't. You wrote that post, what was the point of that?
Apparently so did many in the audience thought it was funny, that wasn't exactly booing I heard through the TV speaker.

So what? The truth is Soon-Yi wasn't 12 or underage. She was already in college and in her 20's when the affair began according to what Soon-Yi has said. Old enough to make her own decisions and old enough to be consensual.
Jay was joking about the age difference, not she actually married at 12.

Even Jay Leno done a skit showing Woody and Soon-Yi on their honeymoon, the actress portrayed was around 12.

This is one of Woody and Soon-Yi's adopted daughters, and here's a whole article about how people try to use this photo and others under false pretenses and with no context to advance their own theories about Woody:
That's for that info, but that's how the Google images, other websites ALWAYS had it labeled, in other words I never posted it under false pretenses. Why did it took Justin Levine or anyone else took years to correct the photos?
Google now comes up with Levine's correction.

Think it was used to tell the separate stories. The use there is understandable.
Let me emphasis, multi-tint is OK if properly applied.
