I think they were mentioned long ago in the Lookalike thread.
But the thread is so old, photos may not be available.

As for studios that didn't know how to sell their movies, anybody remember Disney nervously trying to explain who or what Stitch was in Lilo & Stitch (2002), and rather over-defending his right to be a "real" Disney character?
Maybe by simply showing part of the opening scene stating Stitch is an alien lab experiment would had resolved that question. The Lion King satire only added confusion.

I think Generations was a paramount plot to kick shatner permanently out of star trek.
they got what they wanted but crippled and eventually killed star trek in the process.
they coulda given star trek a great shot in the arm twenty years ago by devoting and entire film to the resurrection of kirk but were too stupid to do even that.
many have tried but there still remains only one top dog in the starship commanding field...
this one!

And wind up like a 137 year old Bones McCoy?

The later films work better if you don't try to compare them with the original cast films, as they're too different in style and temperament. If you're familiar with the characters from The Next Generation series, and have watched a lot of the episodes, then the later films are enjoyable to varying degrees. First Contact is one of the best films of the series, even though it's not without its faults. Insurrection feels like a feature-length episode of TNG. Generations is pretty bad, though, and the fate of Kirk is handled very poorly, in my opinion. And Nemesis is just a complete misfire.
As for the New Trek, J.J. Abrams-era films, I'm not a fan, but I seem to be in the minority in that.
Kirk in "Generations" had a one liner (one of the best) that humorously showed his age.
Talking to Picard...I've been saving the galaxy since your grandfather was in diapers.

I hate it when some punk comes in here and mentions liking some movie "back when" they were "little" and go on to say something like "in the early '70's" like they're some kind of Goddam sages!
ESPECIALLY in the same thread I admit to having NOT seen the movie for 60+ years!
(which puts things into the LATE '50's!
and me then being 6 years old! ) Anyway.......
Some football game being interrupted or preempted by a movie is NO REASON to hate the MOVIE. That anger should be directed to and saved for the idiot who ordered the preemption of the game.

From wiki..
.... In the late 1960s, few professional football games took longer than two and a half hours to play, and the Jets–Raiders' three-hour time slot was thought to be adequate. A high-scoring contest, together with a number of injuries and penalties for the two bitter AFL rivals, caused the game to run long. NBC executives had originally ordered that Heidi begin at 7:00 p.m. ET, but then decided to allow the game to air to its conclusion. However, communicating this revised plan to the technicians running NBC's master control proved impossible -- as 7 p.m. approached, NBC's switchboards were jammed by viewers phoning to inquire about the night's schedule, preventing the planned change from being communicated. Heidi began as scheduled, preempting the final moments of the game and the two Oakland touchdowns in the eastern half of the country, to the outrage of viewers.
Today a football game will be aired to it's conclusion regardless of what's scheduled.

Diana Durrell as Miss Carol in the controversial movie "Child Bride" (1938) She was both a teacher and an activist to end the practice of child marriage in some crazy backwoods. School should been named "Pigeon Drop Elementary".

Did you say Two Peup?

"Dora's Dunking Donuts" (1933) comedy short. Andy Clyde played a teacher that got stumped with the "Who's buried in Grant's Tomb" question.

Here's another part of the equation. Less technical or less alert computer users falling for scams. This call just came in on the answering machine, in the past few days.
(this is an mp3 audio file - I cut out the last part of the phone # so no one here actually falls for it)
http://moviecollectoroh.com/pics_to_hotlink_on_TCM/Microsoft-Windows-license-expiring-phone-message.mp3Now I see what my dad was asking me about - he had received a call like this several times. (I had to chuckle a bit, as neither of us still use Windows to surf the net at either of our places)

That definitely is a scam! The OP system does not expire but you do have only about 2 activations with Win 7 but I don't know about higher versions. Discovered something recently, the Windows XP Home Edition didn't require activation which surprised me. Had to use it on this machine, for some strange reason the Professional version won't install, keep getting an "Out of memery" (OM error). Every computer does have some type of software quirk. Roxio Burner malfunctions!
Fortunately found Deep Burner which works perfectly.
Exception - Anti-virus software does expire, a real pain!

It still seems the "Heidi" connection is a stretch, but I think I see the point

Worse than the LIONS? Well, THEY'VE improved to the point that(so far) they'll only blow a lead as far as making the game a tie. So 'round here that is improvement.

It will always be known as the Heidi Bowl (or Game).

How dare they interrupt the game, the heresy.

There is a Catholic nun teacher that stayed drunk in "Bruno" (aka "The Dress Code"). Sorry but there's no character name in the film.
Bad teacher!

both paramount and Roddenberry tried to reinvent star trek without a strong lead character and it didn't work!
and a strong lead character was a part of Roddenberry's original vision for star trek.

No, and as Gershwin fan just noted.
And now here's another little bit of trivia regarding all this:
To this very day, ANY version of Heidi, and be it starring Shirley Temple or not, is the absolute LEAST favorite movie within the city of Oakland California, AND just the sheer MENTION of the name "Heidi" will still cause a riot to take place within the confines of that city.
(...NOT that Raider fans ever really NEED an excuse to riot, of course)
Does it has to do with this Heidi?

What probably made the football fans madder, that version turned out to be the most boring. But what does one expect from a made for TV movie.
Far as multiple versions, "Heidi" comes in second from "A Christmas Carol" for the most remakes. Last was in 2015.
(Anuk Steffen ties Scut Farkus for the most rotten name.

Finished up the original part of the movie series last night. So to rank them:
1. Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country 👍👍
2. Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn 👍👍
3. Star Trek: The Motion Picture 👍👍
4. Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home 👍👍
5. Star Trek III: The Search for Spock 👍
6. Star Trek V: The Final Frontier Borderline between one thumb up or one downThumbs down on the lousy SFX's.
For the plot, at the center of the galaxy....

That sort of killed it, didn't it?

I disagree on both counts. I'm no expert. Just my opinion.
Uh what info is there to steal if none is to be had?
I've learned back during the Windows 98 era that viruses / malware are OP specific. I had the so called "unremovable" (anti virus software couldn't delete them - only quarantine) i.e. Speedy.bat, Natal.pif, etc.
Rebooting system under DOS only C: prompt rendered then inactive. Couldn't work under DOS / Win 3.1 environment. Deleting was a piece of cake.
Never had any attacks with this computer since purchasing it some time back. Guess using the firewall and breaking broadband connection when not on the internet helped as well.

I have a desktop PC. Since my Mohs (skin cancer) surgery, I don't use it. I have Amazon's 10 inch tablet. It is what you should expect for the price.
I do not miss MS Windows 10! My dream machine now is an iPad. Can't see well enough for just any screen. I love zoom and predictive text.
I don't like tweets, regardless of how this forum displays them. Not sure why Jake cannot post from the original source.
Sure, the web is never completely safe, but I really feel Twitter is unsafe. Even their CEO was hacked, for a second time.
From The Verge:
"Dorsey’s account has been hacked before. In 2016, the security firm OurMine hacked @Jack to send out a message about “testing your security.” The tweet also had a video and a link to OurMine’s website. (OurMine also hacked other CEOs, such as Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg and Google’s Sundar Pichai.)"
The risk applies to people whom has an account, this is part of the reason I'll never join such. Just non subscribers reading won't put one at risk. Even if someone hacked TCM, what's to learn, my personal info is non existent For any viruses / trojans, it will be incompatible with Windows XP . What hacker will waste the time writing such for a long since outdated OP system (which still works great for me)?

I am put off by the Twitter stuff!!!
Guess it either isn't being reported, or the moderators don't see the need to do anything.
This is a forum, not a social media platform.
I have Jake on ignore. Last time I mentioned it, my post was removed, but Jake is still allowed to flood this forum with Twitter posts.
In my opinion, Twitter (and Facebook) are unsafe. I would not be put off by Jake forwarding links, but he seems too lazy. I only use a tablet. This forum is not mobile OS friendly. Everything takes me longer, but I try to do the right thing for the other members.
Long as the OP are movie or TV related, the TCM rules doesn't dictate where the info comes from
