Seen it a couple of times, definitely not worth recording. Weird ending, a bugs version of the devil.

Better title would had been "Invasion of The Space Grasshoppers".

What ever became of locking threads with the reason why?

Yeah, that seems weird. Any idea why it was pulled? Was it due to implying that the OP may have been trolling, which has been interpreted as abusive in the past? Was it due to the YouTube clips? That would be unusual but not unheard of, due to copyright concerns. Maybe the Op himself asked for the deletion.
Generally some Youtube videos are deleted because of copyright issues, not taking the entire thread with it.
There was a movie thread taken down because it had nothing but movies.

Thread not argumentive, it was civil, fun and informative.

Hope some killjoy here didn't ask the mods to send it to the thread graveyard.

I did some more checking and found out that Spectrum (Charter) added copy protection on all the Turner networks except for CNN and HLN, and also on most Viacom owned networks. I've found a work around though in that movies from TCM I want to record don't have copy protection on On Demand or from Watch TCM on Roku. Thanks for the responses.
My cable use to be Charter during the 1990's and Tri Ex the 1980's
It's now Suddenlink - use it for local programming, redundancy, and the internet. Do very LITTLE recording nowadays, have what I want, seen just about everything and most new movies stinks. Prices for regular DVD's has bottomed out, purchased the last Star Wars movie for $9.00. Pay-per view is $6.00 maybe this what caused the demise of DVD recorders.

Yeah, that's Keith Jackson alright, ham.
But once again, can you name the actor who played the "Colonel" that sat next to Spade Cooley in that video you posted above?
Tell ya what. I'll give ya another little hint here: Some of us teenagers in L.A. back then used to "park and spark" with our girlfriends up on Mulholland Drive, but a buddy of mine at the time used to refer to that road by another and far more "suggestive" name because of that, and that's the name of this actor I'm asking you to name here!
(...yeah yeah, I know, not much help here, huh...BUT, when I TELL you this actor's name, I think you'll get a real kick out of this IF I know your sense of humor at all)
You got me stumped there.

Hey ham! Can you name the actor who played the Colonel character that Spade Cooley talks to in this video?
Here's a hint: After his days as a B-movie character actor were over, he'd become a mainstay as an announcer, primarily in the sports field, on early television Los Angeles broadcasts, and was actually the originator of the catchphrase "Whoa Nellie" years before sportscaster Keith Jackson would become better known for it. I remember seeing and hearing him quite a lot on that old Philco TV set of ours while growing up in L.A. in the '50s and '60s.
(...and yeah, you're right...Ken Curtis had a nice singing voice, alright)

I can see she's a little behind in her reading.

Speaking of annoying, wonder if Frank Burns (M*A*S*H) got on peoples nerves?

-
May not be exactly interesting since it's from the movie "Dear Bridget" but heck to have Brigitte Bardot arms around Billy Mumy, had to been the luckiest kid alive.

Only Jonathan Harris could make a villain look bumbling, goofy and comical.

Too bad the movie version ruined the character.

Ken Curtis fooled a lot of people who didn't know him outside of the Gunsmoke "Festus" role. He was a good actor, clean shaven, smooth talking and a great singer (believe it or not)

He looks like Buddy Hackett.

This thread made me thought about another one---Misleading titles.

No tender grapes on any vines in "Our Vines Has Tender Grapes" (1945)

How about getting pitchforked in the movies?

Bill Robinson giving Jack Haley the point.

Never seen "Fatherland", hope it showed a decimated nearly extinct mankind at the very end because a pandemic killed 99.9% of mankind because the lack of genetic diversity. Bye-bye master race.

Both Harry Kipper and that blonde dimwit he married in "Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm" (1937)

At least both got "planked" in the rear end.

Careful, Sepia. You don't want to bend that pitchfork!
Sydney Greenstreet was the inspiration for Jabba the Hutt. Will need a bigger pitchfork.
Bet woman had the same revolting reaction to both.

There is something about the impression some people gives, my mom can't stand Michael J. Pollard. Has nothing to do with the movies.
Same goes with Mr Lucky's John Vivyan. Go figure? Don't ask me to explain, I can't.

Genearl Hux in the last Star Wars movies.

Like to mention Captain Phasma but it would be quite hard to get a pitchfork through that body armor.

I know this is an older topic but I've started having a similar problem with my Magnavox DVD recorder. THis only recently started happening and it happens on TCM but not on other channels I've tried. I'm on Charter cable. Is it possible that they have added copy protection to TCM? Thanks for any help.
Sure is.

The idea of recording dreams in the film is interesting, wish that was possible. Certainly beats any movie...well mine anyway.
