Theaters make more money from their overprice snacks than from ticket sales. I have been tempted to sneak at least a soda but I can't imagine hiding a tub of popcorn under my sweater?!
-
Now that is delightful poster.

Ken Russell's film can be outrageous " Tommy", beyond camp " The Music Lovers" or just plain brilliant " Women in Love" which manage to be both erotic and thought provoking at the same time. He pushed the boundaries of sex in cinema with still shocking scenes like the infamous night- stick scene from "Crimes of Passion".

On film they personify elegance and romance.

I wish someone would remake "Zepellin" (1971) this is very exciting WW I adventure movie with Michael York- the film would really use some up to date FX for the aerial battles.
-
To me the show seemed to move faster- but I would have eliminated "The Hurt Locker" ballet.
-
And don't forget those terrifying sound effects- no wonder that little girl freaked out!
-
"Showgirls" is a lot of fun in an over the top sexy way with those ridiculous production numbers.
-
These two movies are very similar- obviously "It Came From Beneath The Sea" was made to cash in on the success of " The Beast". "It" is one of Harryhausen's dullest creations but lets face it how much personality can you give to a giant octopus. The Rhedosaur had a more expressive face and you feel kind of sorry for it when it dies.

Total star power- I don't think they needed to include that small image of Virginia Mayo in the poster- Cagney alone would have been more effective.
-
Yes having two hot young stars from "Twilight" introducing the segment could be seen as pandering- but I think the Oscars try to have something for all movie fans- the ratings went up this year.

The movie is still a terrifying classic because they took the story seriously.
-
How do you define worst film- there are terrible movies that are a lot more fun than more respectable classic productions- I would rather watch "Plan Nine From Outer Space" than be bored to death by "Ghandi" or worse "The Hours"
-
The black/ white racial conflict in "Guess Who Is Coming To Dinner" is too dated and safe for a remake- now a modern version would have the gay son bringing in his boyfriend and they want to get married - now that would be an interesting movie.

There are some classic made for tv movie thrillers on that list.
-
It was nice to a genre that is usually ignored by the Oscars.
-
"Them" terrified me when I first saw it. It's still the best giant creature movie.
-
"Logan's Run" the book is much more interesting than the movie and you could cast it with younger actors.
-
They did manage to include the entire history of cinema horror from Nosferatu to Leprechaun(?!)
-
It doesn't sound like a TCM movie? Are you sure she didn't see it on the sci-fi channel.
-
Hunter produced some made for TV movies after the "Lost Horizon" disaster.
-
Are they ever going to make a movie out of "Wicked"?
-
The book is out in paperback. I've been meaning to read it as I love this movie.

I doubt that anyone in Hollywood would dare remake "Citizen Kane" it's the holy grail of American film. Now "Gone With The Wind" is another story- I'm surprise there hasn't been an attempt at a television mini-series.

Did they forget that 1985 bomb "Return To Oz" with Fairuza Balk as Dorothy?
