TCM really should produced a program about him and please include his bad movie masterpiece the musical version of " Lost Horizon"
-
He has made some great movies like "Hope and Glory" and the insane "ZARDOZ"
-
This is the reason I love TCM besides the classic films of course they produce these great documentaries on film history.
-
Next year they should hire who ever is the person who does such a brilliant job on the TCM memorial segment.
-
Sandra Bullock was the main reason "The Bilind Side" was more than just an inspirational sports movie. Streep was brilliant as Julia Childs but she is only in half the movie. She was even better in "The Devil Wears Prada" and should have won for tha too- but as supporting role- not the lead.

My choice for best picture was "The Hurt Locker" and it deserve the other awards it received. I like Jeff Bridges but I think Jeremy Renner was brilliant.
-
"Saturday Night Fever" is a terrific movie that perfectly captures a moment in youth culture- the star making performance by Travolta raised to another level. "Staying Alive" the infamous sequel is one of the worst movies ever made.

They got it right this year.

Has anyone here actually sat through "Heaven's Gate" ? It's a boring movie with endless shots that lead no where. It doesn't even work as camp. It's just pretentious cinematic crap. But the funniest worst movie ever is Ross Hunter's musical production of "Lost Horizon". Why isn't this classic what-where- they- thinking- disaster not out on DVD?!

Sandra Bullock deserve to win for " The Blind Side" . She is the main reason the movie works.
-
Are you sure it was not in color?

The Oscars began as a marketing tool for the studios. A lot of truly great and landmark films have been ignored over the years.
-
Its been fourteen years since Streissand directed " The Mirror Has Two Faces" I think that is enough time to make another movie.
-
The movie has a chilling final image.

Pierce Brosman has gone from pretty boy leading man to a very solid screen actor. Ewan McGregor is always good- and it was nice to see Kim Catrall playing it straight for once and still be sexy and menacing. "The Ghost Writer" is worth a trip to the theater if you want to see a a good old fashion thriller.

" Heaven's Gate" is self indulgent, endless and pointless.
-
Madonna did deserve an Oscar nomination. She has never been better too bad she has never worked with Alan Parker again. He obviously knew to how to get a good performance out of her.
-
He is no saint but he is master director. I just saw "The Ghost Writer" a perfectly crafted thriller and considering his current legal problems it might be his last film. Polanski still knows how to create Hithcock level intrigue and suspense and could give lessons on how to create a sense of dread with out resorting to bloody cheap tricks ( are you listening Mr Scorcesse)
-
Ben Afleck is now directing his second film starring Jeremy Renner ( they had a cute interview segment on Oprah's Oscar special) Damon has become a bigger star thanks to the Bourne series. Ben is still looking for his money making franchise ( obviously no one wanted to see another "Daredevil" movie)
-
Kramer was **** off at Babs because she seems to be taking for ever to do a film of " The Normal Heart".
-
I love the ending- specially the fate of the scientist.
-
They needed his hairy pecs to save humanity!
-
"The Night Stalker"

I'm a cable vision/ ABC prisoner! Don't they make enough money already?!

They spent too much time in some modern films and there was only a quick flash of the classic monsters stars,
