I have never understood why Glenn Ford was a major star.
-
Johnny Depp might pull it off- and he can sing.
-
To play Sinatra you need a star with true star quality. Are they planning to use the actual Sinatra vocals?
-
You are right- Pryce is excellent as Peron.
-
The great Italian American Director can't resist the lure of the ultimate Italian American Idol. Leo would not be my choice for Sinatra- he was not terribly convincing as the older Hughes either.
-
Meryl might have been good but I think Madonna does a very good job both acting and singing. Banderas really should do another musical- the producers of "Nine" made a big mistake in not casting him.
-
Its a gritty low budget movie with some terrific editing.

The genius of "2001" is that there are many ways of interpreting the story- yes the Arthur C. Clarke novel makes the ending clearer. But I don't think you have to understand the story to enjoy the film on a pure visual level.

'Barry Lyndon" is one of the most beautiful films ever made- yes its slow but not dull.
-
Alan Parker's film stands up surprisingly well. Madonna was perfectly cast and Antonio Banderas is terrific.
-
The film looks fine on DVD.

The head does look like a run away balloon from the Macys parade? And who is that guy lurking behind Cooper?

Romero really could have used a bit more money for this one.

LOL- shoplifting has never looked that exciting!

A true classic movie reveals more with each viewing.

His films are visually striking.

The battle with Universal to release the film is more interesting than the film itself

The new 3 - D technology has improved tremendously from the 3 - D films in the 1950s.

"The Shuttered Room" is in color. Was it an English movie- I thinking one of those great Psycho inspired thrillers Hammer produced in the 60s like "Scream of Fear" or "Nightmare"
-
I saw it in IMAX 3-D and ended up with a headache! 3 - D is once again a marketing gimmick if the film is not good the 3 - D effects will not make a success. Cameron used 3 - D to create a realistic fantasy world not just for cheap shock effects.

This is a thought provoking movie with a truly disturbing ending.
