I'm really glad that I got see _The Night of the Hunter_ (1955) on the big screen in July 2008 @ the UA 90th Anniversary film festival . To see it on a Tv is 1 thing but to see it on the big screen is another experience! In his biography, Robert Mitchum stated that director Charles Laughton found the script by James Agee totally unacceptable; he paid off Agee, sent him packing and rewrote virtually the entire script himself, uncredited.

Where to Start with John Cassavetes films?
CelluloidKid replied to Octoberbest's topic in Films and Filmmakers
John Cassavetes has a director most definitely get "_Gloria_" from 1980. The Re-Make is not bad, but get the orginial W./which stars his wife Gena Rowlands. Also see if you can _find "A Child Is Waiting_" (This pops on Encore every month) W./ Judy Garland and Burt Lancaster. However, my personal favorite John Cassavetes has a director is his film "_Faces_" W./Gena Rowlands, Seymour Cassel and Lynn Carlin. John Cassavetes has an actor try either _Two-Minute Warning_, _The Killers_ (1964) or _The Dirty Dozen_. -
*Harriet Craig WIll Be shown on:* *Sunday, September, 07th, 2008 @ 3:30am Arizona (PT) Time!* *Stars: Joan Crawford, Wendell Corey, Lucile Watson.* *Directed By: Vincent Sherman.* _Harriet Craig_ is the second of three cinematic collaborations between director Vincent Sherman Sherman and Crawford.

Anyone else watch "_The Little Hut_" (09/05/08) last night? Strange film, very funny. I wish ths they would re-make this, since in 1957 W./the censorship and codes the director Mark Robson couldn't push the lines. Despite the much-touted scenes of Ava Gardner in a skimpy negligee, the film version of "_The Little Hut_" is about as racy as _Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm_. Ava Gardner, Stewart Granger and David Niven were just fun to watch. & Ava was so gorgeous!
